80 dollars are not too bad for a professional software.

Sublime, with 80 bucks give you perpetual updates.

 

Personally, I don't like it, and I am using Notepad++. But Sublime is quite better (10% better?)

 

Be aware that if you buy it you will support somebody giving an almost free tool that helps tons of people. (I support Notepad++ Patreon.)

 

@Ashal is a big supporter of it. He may tell you more.

I kind of agree with you and think $80 is a lot for a text editor but I saw this video and didn't k now if these features are worth $$$

Vim is for linux though i thought? i do have a ubuntu laptop but i was kind of looking for something on my win boxes. btw, i hope we can just have a discussion without anything turning into a war of words.

Personally, I use Jetbrains tools. They are not that expensive and for me, they are the best.

Have you ever tried Atom ? not sure if it in the same category, but it is a text editor
