lambient1988 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 I reinstalled Oldrim and got to modding. Everything is going smoothly except one thing. CBBE won't apply textures to the face. I literally disabled every single other mod and just ran CBBE, yet it won't apply the face texture. Rest of the body gets the texture, even the custom texture Fair Skin Complexion. Any idea why this is happening? I would have provided a modlist but I have already tried with disabling every single other mod.
Grey Cloud Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 What is it like with a naked body? It is difficult to tell from that image but the face looks okay but the body areas are a different tone. This may be coming from the prisoner outfit. Without a load order it is difficult to come up with suggestions about what may be wrong.

I even started the game without any mods, saved and then launched the clean save file, still the same issue. The Face textures are the default Skyrim textures and are not getting replaced by anything. Even the hands seem different. I have attached screenshots of my mod lists. Is there a better way to share lists of mods?

When you put a lot of information in a post on a thread please place it in a spoiler (like you did with quoting Grey Cloud). In my opinion, the best way to get your load order onto the thread is to run LOOT (Load Order Optimisation Tool). In the upper right hand corner, on the blue bar, is an icon that looks like three vertical dots or buttons. Click on it and a menu appears. One of the options is "copy load order to clipboard." Choose that, come here and paste it into a spoiler.

Hell, even after disabling Fair Skin Complexion, CBBE's own face textures should apply. They don't either. And ever after disabling absolutely all the mobs except CBBE, I get the same issue. Grey Cloud Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I don't use CBBE myself so I'm pretty ignorant about its pros and cons. For instance, I'm not sure what's happening to your girls elbow there. I don't use MO either so I haven't clue what I'm looking at. Have you tried reinstalling Fair Skin? When you 'disabled' it did you start a new game or just continue from a save?

I have reinstalled everything and tried. Eventually today morning I just reinstall the entire game, Mod Organizer and all the mods. Works fine now, don't know what went wrong the last time.

I don't claim to know either BUT people using MO do appear to have more problems with mods being overwritten. I only say that so that you can watch out as you add more mods in the future. Glad you've got it running. Good hunting!

By observation: It is usually because they ignore the importance of the left pane (mod priority) and expect load order (right pane) would be enough. But as textures are usually not an esp, they fail to see the sharpness of the sword in their hands. Now, add the option of selectively deciding the winner of conflcts ... ouch. Can get bloody if you ignore the documentation.

Yet, was having the same issue, face texture won't get applied no matter what I did.

Mind you, that MO has a left and a right pane, and especially non-esp mods tend get mistaken for their nature. Right now, I can't tell from your words if you feel confident about the diferent nature of both panes in MO? The thing that your complete reinstall solved it, leads me to that suspicion. ? If you feel confident that you understood the different concepts of both panes, then everything is fine. If not, I suggest to read up a bit and ask some question, if in doubt. ? It might save you many nightmares if you install or deinstall things in the future. Anyway - it is very good that you have everything working now ! That's the important part, all else is side effect and can be left for later.

I have been a long time Mod Organizer user, except that I didn't play for the last two years and forgot about most of the mods, but not the features of Mod Organizer . I disabled the entire left pane (except CBBE) which also eliminated all ESPs from the right pane. So I was basically running a modless Skyrim except CBBE. Maybe something got messed up in the save game? I should have tried starting a new game for testing purposes. Oh well, can't test it now, all that is in the past.

Though you should: get yourself a cheap USB disk make a full 7z archive of your skyrim folder => copy to USB disk make a full 7z archive of your MO folder => copy to USB disk I do that once in a while and it saves me sooooo much trouble for less than the price of a single candle light dinner for 2 lovebirds... And I can keep that up as a monthly habit for years until my 1TB disk runs out of space and I would have to delete any old archives

I killed more harddisks in my short life than James Bond killed villains. Did you use Mod Organizer's backup features or simply used copy paste?

MO "backup" creates a file (with a history of 5 old versions AFAIK) which contains your load order or the priority order. That is fine in itself, and very useful, but not what I meant. Whole folder -> create 7z archive -> to USB Disk -> name it with the current date And since I'm at it anyway and let my old brick do the work, I make the same with my save-file folder.
