xgthxhnmp Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 So I installed this at first with the esp replacer made by zillier, but when I used that the textures didn't cover the whole page so the comics were just a tiny unreadable little thing in the center of a gross background. Then I just reinstalled the whole mod and now the magazines look fine, but they aren't showing up no matter what I set the non chances to, i've tried 0, i've tried 1, i've tried 90, i've tried 100, nothing seems to work. I have moved back to a save from before I tried installing the mod at all, so it can't be that.

I barely know how the fallout 4 loot system works, I get the idea the majority of the comics in the commonwealth are created upon creation of the save, since you had an existing one that would be none, I could be wrong. New ones could spawn in cells you've never been in before or just got their loot rerolled (like raider camps). You can test these chances by using the command "resetcontainer" on a container where comics can spawn in (like one of those green trashcans on the street). Good thought, I actually had tried to eliminate that possibility before I made my post, but I neglected to mention it. I had gone to a few areas which I had not visited yet at all with the not spawning chance set to 0 and checked every container and found none, and I also tried the same thing in a different location with it set to 1 and 5 in case 0 percent or 1 percent were invalid inputs. RCR does not have any scripts, it just adds comics to leveled lists the old way, via esp. The only thing you can really do to test is keep repeating "resetcontainer" with a container selected (green trashcan on the street) until it contains a comic, which indicates the mod is working.

Is there some way I could get it to output to the console when it runs the injection script and what it rolls? edit: it's the last thing in my load order by the way.  You may want to open all your mods at the same time with FO4Edit and check your leveled lists. Are you using a bashed patch? Check that too. My bashed patch was completely screwing up my leveled lists so rather than figure out how to fix it I stopped using it. AWKCR (Armor Keywords) also messes heavily with leveled lists.  Edit: If your leveled lists look fine, then you'll need to wait for cell resets since you installed in the middle of a save. To see if the mod is working at all, you can try backing up all your saves to another folder and start a new game. I normally get at least 1 or 2 magazines in Sanctuary when I start the game with this enabled. I don't see why backing my saves up to another folder before starting a new game is needed though, is there something I'm not aware of about how the saves work?

I don't see why backing my saves up to another folder before starting a new game is needed though, is there something I'm not aware of about how the saves work?  I don't think it's necessarily required, I just find it easier for myself in case I'm just testing something and I like to have the save folder cleared when starting a new character. Also if you are trying to keep 2 separate characters going, you'd have to scroll through x number of saves to get to the other character because bethesda games don't account for people wanting to have multiple characters. (At least Skyrim LE and FO4 behave that way, I forget if they ever fixed that for SE or if you needed a mod to have multiple characters)  Up to you really.Â

It's actually more of a DEF_UI problem, if you use anything else like FallUI or something it should be fine.
