ctd on opening skill level up screen

i am having a odd problem. i just got thru training my skills with farkas and vilkas and so i wanted to level up but every time i go to the skill screen to level up, the games freezes for a few seconds, then just crashes. im not quite sure why

Let me begin with what I know you are doing wrong. These may not fix your current problem but if they don't they will prevent future ones.

 

First, this is from the Home Sweet Home mod by Musje's description:

 

-TUFP + ZEP is OK 

-ZAP 7 + TUFP + ZEP is OK (most common combination)

-ZAP 8(+) is OK for gamers who don´t play mods that need ZEP (zaz extension pack)

-ZAP8(+) + TUFP is NOT WORKING, combining these is not necessary and causes serious issues (ZAP8+ has everythong from TUFP and them some)

-ZAP8(+) + ZEP is NOT WORKING

-ZAP 8 (+) + ZEP + TUFP is NOT WORKING
 

This was originally put into the support thread by T.ara (who had at least a hand in all the mods listed). You may want to rethink some of your mod selections based on this. In the same vein most of what you want from heretical resources is likely in either ZAP8+ or the newest DD (4.2).

 

Second, you are using the old version of More Nasty Critters. I know this since SexLab Nude Creatures is in your load order. You need to replace it with the newer version for SLAL. I will tell you what I have been telling everyone else. If you are not in the habit of reading the directions for loading mods make an exception with this one. The directions are clear and not particularly hard but they are particular. Ignore them at your own peril. By the way, pay particular attention to the fact that the new MNC must come BEFORE SLAL (LOOT likes to place it after and, for a change, LOOT is just wrong).

 

Also, after changing your load order, ALWAYS START A NEW GAME. Always run LOOT and FNIS. Saved games have "stuff" in them that you may have just tried to eliminate. If you want to see how changing your load order has impacted your game you must start over.

 

While you are working on this I'll take a look at your papyrus log and see if there is anything else that jumps out.

I see a lot of errros from something called SLV. Which mod is that?

Do you have a mod that changes anything to the skilltrees?

Is this on an old save that has seen many mods come and go?

Does this also happen with a new save?

Your papyrus log is throwing a lot of junk off XPMSE and (much to my horror) AYGAS. If you do not use Dual Sheath Redux (I didn't see it but I really should be in bed so I might have missed it) you do not need the .esp ticked "on". Just tick  "off" the esp in your mod list. Do NOT delete the mod. It should show up in your list you just need to tick it off.

In terms of AYGAS I would recommend that you delete both it and Home Sweet Home and reload them. Pay particular attention to getting the right "patch" while loading HSH. This should take care of those problems.

SLV is Slaverun Reloaded and it does throw a lot of errors. It is extraordinarily script heavy and, in my opinion, should only be used as part of a relatively light load order. However, I like the mod and put up with it anyway (at least when I'm in that kind of mood).

so i need the new More nasty critters? i didnt realize mine was outdated, my bad. i usually try to read thru the instructions unless they are confusing then sometimes i just dont get it. im soeey i can be kinda thick in the head sometimes, thanku for ur help

thats really odd since SLV is Slaverun Reloaded, and i thought i uninstalled that a while ago due to lagging. plus this is on a game were i made a new game for my mods

it shouldnt be popping up...

so i cant use AYGAS and HSM without Daul sheath redux? im not understanding

Sorry, two separate issues:

1) You only need the .esp for XPMSE ticked "on" if you use dual sheath redux. If you do not then tick it "off" as that will help performance.

2) Totally unrelated. You are throwing a LOT of errors from AYGAS. I would encourage you to delete your current loads of BOTH AYGAS and HSH and reload them. Make sure you get the appropriate "patch" when you load.

 

Edit: And, as always, after you make changes to your load order run LOOT and FNIS. Since you will have the SLAL version of MNC then you will probably have to move it up your load order manually to just before SLAL since LOOT likes to place it after SLAL.
