pregnancy Share Big News

So Sims autonomously sharing big news hasn't been in the game for a while, but I noticed I have been having a lot of trouble finding "Share Big News" as an option for my sim to do at all. No matter what trimester they are in, the interaction is almost never there. And when it is...well I better click it then because it might not be there latter.

It's very very rare to ever see it pop up.

Is this a bug or was this purposefully removed/made more rare for it to show up or something? Am I missing a setting somewhere that I need to turn on/off?

I don't recall it being this difficult to find this interaction. When I'm running with a story line it's pretty frustrating not to be able to find this interaction.

Well when I take out WW it's there. I don't have a lot of mods in my game but taking out my other mods/cc doesn't seem to effect on 'Share Big News'. Only when I put WW back in does it seem to disappear.

Ok so confusing update- Sorry this is a bit long...

I took all the files out of my mods folder again, started a new save file completely with only WW and MCC in my mods folder.

I made a new couple and added one extra male sim to get the wife pregnant again.

 

Husband and wife do woohoo. She's pregnant and there I can share big news.

He does not get a moodlet.

I sent her into labor immediately, save. I added in a few folders with cc (hair, clothing and furniture mainly) and then restart.

I then have wife and the roommate WW in a few locations before she actually gets pregnant. She IS able to share big news with him.

He doesn't get a moodlet.

I move in a random townie, save. I add in one script mod and then restart.

I have the husband sleep with the new roommate (via woohoo ) and she gets pregnant. I don't tell him anything.

I just add what little script mods I have back into my game one by one and making sure she can share big news each time.

And by the time the last mod was in my game, she never lost share big news. She told him and he still didn't get a moodlet.

Odd.

But that was my test file. Not one of my main ones.

I went back to the one file that I have been playing with.

Two guys. I had them use WW and one of them got pregnant. He was NOT able to share big news.

So I went into manage worlds and went to one of the many women he has been sleeping with and played as her. Funnily enough she's actually delivers their mail and was already at his house. So she went in and I didn't even have to ask them to WW they did it on their own. I had her take a test and she got pregnant and she could still not share big news.

One last test. I went back  into manage worlds and went to another women he has been sleeping with and played as her invited him over.

They woohoo, she gets pregnant and is NOT able to share big news.

 

So...I'm very confused.

I took out all my mods except for WW and MCC and I could do the interaction but the men didn't get a moodlet.

I put all the mods and cc back into my game, one by one and she could still do the interaction but he still doesn't get a moodlet.

My main issue was that I couldn't find the interaction at all.

I go back to my original save file that I was playing, with all my cc/mods still in my mods folder but now I don't get the interaction at all.

Before it showed up right away soon as I clicked on any sim. I didn't have to hunt through 'Friendly' to find it.

 

And I'm sorry if this seems like "wtf" and a waste of breath but I just tried to eliminate every possible scenario where this would/wouldn't work.

Am I doing something wrong? What else can I do?

everytime you remove a mod from sims4 mods folder, also delete localethumbcache.package in sims4 folder

 

or try delete localthumbcache.package and reload the saved game, where you are not able to share big news

Ok so I deleted localethumbcache.package and I still can't share big news.

I can still share big news in my separate test save game.

 

So if I remove all my mods from my mods folder, do I have to save each time? For that particular save file?

Or do I just restart the game?

I feel like I'm missing something I should know how to do. ?

not save, only remove localthumbcache.package. reload the game and test it. if you still have the problem, exit the game, remove another mod the re-delete localthumbcache.package then reload the game,... and so on...

 

in your saved game, where you cant share big news, try create another household and test share big news from that sim, is it available? (dont save it, only running to test)

if the new sims can do share big news, then looks like your sims are borked (the one that cant share big news),

but if your new sims also cant share big news, then the saved game are borked

 

solution? create new game ...

(got a saved game where my sims just stuck, cant do any of task, just standing all day long... even when loading it without any cc or mod)

Ok so I tried everything you said and in the end I just saved the sims/lots I wanted to keep to my library and deleted my old save file. I was just pretty fed up at this point.

So then I made sure to delete localethumbcache.package and then I started over fresh.

The main sim I had been using I actually found him on the gallery and I just gave him an alpha makeover.

 

So I added him back into my game. I put him on the same lot and house. And I saved his husband too, so I moved them in together (as roommates)

(Main sim is still pregnant, that's how he was saved to my library) I am still unable to share big news .

Can I not even use those sims anymore? ?

 

So I save. close the game, remove a couple mods and delete localethumbcache.package.

I make a new save file and go into the pancake household, woohoo and...I can't share big news.

 

I have been working on this off and on all day and I guess I have to start from the top again.

I'm tired my brain is a bit fuzzy. I might just set my laptop on fire instead. ?

 

But I just wanted to pop in and say thanks for helping me thus far. Its appreciated.

I have a question @TURBODRIVER. Is there a setting in WW that only allows adults to share big news? I recently made a new save file as a test, and I just added sims to a premade lot. Two adults, one young adult, two teens. The husband and wife woohoo'ed and she could Share Big News. But she couldn't share the big news with anyone other than her husband. Not even her son. Couldn't pregnant sims share big news with everyone? Especially their own family?

Also when sims DO share big news the other sim gets no moodlet at all.

 

The two males woohoo'ed and the one that got pregnant (the young adult) could not Share big news with anyone in the house. I aged up the other male into a young adult and then his partner could share big news. But the male sim couldn't terminate the pregnancy without MCC cheat.

 

Last test, the teen female WW with the husband and she couldn't share big news either. I only had WW and MCC in my mods folder at this point.

I already asked Deaderpool if his mod could be the culprit and he said he didn't touch anything to do with share big news.

Sharing Big News itself wasn't modified to not be available in any way. All of the rules that apply to it are the same as in the original game with the addition of teenagers being able to use it.

 

The big change is on the autonomy trigger for it. That trigger was removed, so Sims will never automatically go share the big news with the father of the child. The reason for it is so you don't know who the father is right away. If you Sim had sex with multiple Sims, this would magically point to who is the father. Without it, you have to wait for the child to be born.

 

Whether it's available or not still depends on the base game rules.
