Need help applying deerfu skin.

I'll be entirely honest; I know how to work with some of the files when it comes to modding, but overall I'm pretty inept at most of it. Especially so when it comes to things like deerfu. I have zero idea where to start, in terms of applying it. I have the files for it downloaded, but I've simply no idea how to actually use it. I've got UNP and CBBE body types downloaded on separate profiles, and while I've looked a little for any guides on how to apply 'custom skins' for both unp and cbbe, I haven't found anything that really helps me. Any pointers/any guides out there?

Maybe with a link to the mod or a better explanation we can help you.

If is a mod must install it as any other mod.

The deerfu textures are neither a file on here (not that I know of) nor a nexus mod. I've tried formatting it into a NMM file and adding it, and a few other basic methods, but that's done very little beyond provide me with half the textures, and missing body parts.

As for the Link; here's the post I got them from. http://architeuthisinfitialis.tumblr.com/post/134968426144/hv-skin-grab-bag-5-count-them-5-unp-skins-in-just

Theses files are pure textures and not have mod structure. You must install it manually.

Teorically, you can manually copy it to DATA\textures\actors\character\female and the game must load it and show it. But of course, IS NOT RECOMENDED, You must use ALWAYS a mod manager and NEVER make a manual process, until you know exactly WHAT are you making and WHY.

The best option is make a mod with the textures. Simply create the structure folder

DATA\textures\actors\character\female

in a temp folder and put the textures in the last folder, compress it and install the zip with NMM.

Or you can get a REAL DEER mod from a good site like Nexus. For example:

Driinkiin Race (Deer Born) Beta WIP

Deer hooves and tail

Thanks for the help, I checked out the Driinkiin previously but it seemed pretty lacking in terms of textures. That's not entirely relevant though, I'll try making a 'mod' file and seeing how it works out for me.

Alright, after trying this in two ways, once by following what was suggested-which produced no results, as far as I can tell. I'm not sure on how to just use textures that're inserted into the game. The second way was by attempting to replace the textures for a basic mod race, and see how that worked out. It didn't sadly. I'm at a loss here...

Use this mod Custom races. Its a copy of all the normal skyrim races e.g. (nord, orc, high elf, etc.). After you install the mod open it up in file explorer. Then after you decide what race you want to play go into that races folder you should then see two more folders, meshes and textures, place the deerfu into the textures folder.

You will have to replace the body meshes and the skeleton in the mod to have it work with everything.

NMM should have said whether the file installed correctly or not, just as it does with any other file.

This method brought me closer. That said, the only thing that showed up was the head's portion of the textures. Might it be that the Deerfu textures lack a mesh portion of the files? They're purely textures, but even then the only thing that seems to work out of said textures is the face/head.

Install the zip, rar or 7z file you created as any other mod. NMM must say that want replace the textures for the normal body model.. of course.. say YES to all... Open your game and DONE....

The only problem is that the textures are made for UNP and i have CBBE and the join in waist look bad.
