animalforest Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Had recently tried to move Skyrim LE from MO1 to MO2, but had noticed my game kept freezing after the switch. So I moved it back to MO1, later realizing it's not freezing but taking a overĀ a minute to save. All I done was move the folders; mods, overwrite, downloads, profiles, and web cache back & forth; before everything was fine. I can still start a new game or go to an old old file & it'll work fine. I also took a recent save & loaded just vanilla w/ DLCs used a script cleaner & it still acts up. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks to those who took time to read this. If their sizes grow quickly over the last saves it might beĀ the indicator that your game stability is going downhill... fast. Ā My first idea would be: find the last stable save before you made the move. When you find it, make a backup copy of it. Store that safely away, before you do anything else. It might be the last reference point for your stable game
animalforest Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 My ess file is 21MB and my skse is 3.1MB, same as it has been. I can watch the skse file download around 30-50 kbps until it's full which then unfreezes my game. Also before the move I had created backups of the active mods and load order (all seems well except the save times). Maybe I'm just lucky it worked as long as it has?
worik Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 21MB sounds well... compare it to my 24MB. Your skse cosave might be suffering from bloatĀ (can be eliminated by NIOCleaner) but that should not explain the enormous save times.

I have racemenu, and modify my character, because i not want look exactly equal to normal npc's. Have MME for me and others 3 followers and alter breast size.Ā Have SGO that make pregnacy in my followers and alter belly node for me and followers. Have SlaveTats for put tats automatically with Apropos, that put it with nio. Ā And never have any problem and never need useĀ NIOCleaner.

Still had about 80 gigs left (I think), but cleared out a few games I wasn't playing & now my saves before NIO work just fine now. Thanks again for your help!ļ»æ I really doubt that it could be related to the free space on the disk, especially when you have 80 gigabytes free and you should write a simple 1 mb file. The free space on the disk, technically speaking, can not cause any problems until it drops below 5% and Windows starts to show messages about it. But, even at that moment, the machine must work perfectly, maybe a little slower, but it can NEVER make a file grow or deposit garbage inside it. Ā I have my game on an old 7200rpm Seagate in a 500GB partition with 45.3 free gigs now, below the recommended 10%, and I have no problem. Ā Maybe, if you have an SSD, you can have problems related to the speed and performance of the disk if you have little free space on the SSD. Some players have reported problems playing Skyrim installed on an SSD. But in general they are due to problems in the disk controllers, if there are any, problems in the controllers of the motherboard, bad configuration in the BIOS of the machine, problems in the operative system ... SSDs need a lot of free space to have good performance. Keep it in mind.

Just glad I didn't have to format it like I was afraid I'd have to. The size may had been 60 GB, not sure. I just thought that it was plenty enough. Whatever the case it works fine now. and I'll try not to download all the games that will fit on the drive ?
