dankmemesxd Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Hello guys, I just started a new game, around 200esps. I am worried about the save file sizes, since I want to kinda play complete skyrim through and want to know if it even makes sense at this rate. So I began with 10mb filesize and I am already at like 14mb after reaching whiterun and I am standing infront of dragons reach now. Should I be worried? The skse file seems to float around 400kb.
worik Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I'd say : no To compare it: I'm running 300+ mods, am a few months ingame (save file no. 1000-something) and float around 21-23mb . The SKSE file suffers from some bloating. I use NIOCleaner to shrink that back fro time to time.
GenioMaestro Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Look good. I started new game some days ago with 225 Plugins and have 10mb on first save and near 12mb now at level 9 with 361kb on skse co-save. Have 12mb or 14mb depend of the quest started and the mod's that you have. You must play for months for make a complete skyrim, but that you allready know, true?
SmedleyDButler Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 An article by Arthmoor a long time established that raw file size isn't so much a sign of trouble as the rate of growth of your save file. If the size of your save file is going up rapidly, then something's gone wrong. But if you've been playing for months and months and have visited many larger world areas or made significant in-game changes using in game world editors (i.e. Cobb's or Jaxonz's Positioner), then a large file size may simply be a reflection of the added record-keeping.
