About future of Sexbound and adult mods for Starbound.

First I so sorry for my poor English. It' my 2nd lang.

 

So generally, I'm not a person who is against adult mods in games. I see mostly of them as some kind of a nice addition to spice up your games.

And I known that not only a stereotypical no life in parent's basement enjoy this kind of mods.

And that many of great talented modders there and around another modding communities are woman (and that's great). So take that PC Gamer, modding isn't "boys only club".

 

I'm silently watched the rise and fall of Sexbound API and his/her another mods. I saw a lot of effort putted into this project. And that in the middle of the life of this project another talented Starbound modders joined into it. By starting making patches for modded races and by trying to make an unofficial patches to main framework.

 

But everything changed when the fire nation PC Gamer with their shitty article attacked. And by knowing how many people in US and some part of Europe are prudes, well the witch hunt for adult modders started. And those prudes started to attack Lex.

 

I know some of you are angry because of disappearance of Sexbound API and another  Lex's mods, but I understand his/her decisions for choosing a lesser evil. And also I fell sad and angry because of this drama, a mod with great potential is gone. but not once did I see how those witch hunts ended (to the normal group of harassers, the people even worse caliber would joined to this "party". A persons who would start to blackmail Lex and who would ruin his/her private live). I knew that he/she had to protect himself/herself, her/his live and people who are important for her/him and done some kind of damage control before it would gone too far.

 

And now it's time for the really important question. What's next?

 

One of the potential scenarios can be that Lex will back by using another nickname and Sexbound (and even add same mod but with another name) and another of his/her mods will back, after the dust settle. But this may not happen

 

The second scenario would be that we take matters into our own hands.  We could take what has been left and use as a inspiration and some kind of framework for even better, faster and stronger adult mod framework and mods for it. We can't just give up, because some shitty press made a stupid article. And all of modders who cared about Sexbound API project, with their great or lesser but also helpful skill will show them a big, fat middle finger.

 

But wait, would be more logical to do this action when all of this drama passes.

well first of all, fuck the article. I'm not like some dog that was shot in the head and stay dead. I'm going to come back alive as a ghost and keep on chucking along!

just know that some modders ain't gonna stop even after being told to stop like me so feel relieved to know that.

So, truthfully, most people don't recover from such events, as in, if Lox sheltered themselves from the PC Gamer fallout, they probably won't come back anytime soon. That said, i think Lox should be proud of the API and move-on you know... Anyway;

I've started a topic already, even before all this shit went down, explaining that i  can add more positions, program more frames, and generally add more to the API, rather easily, although a bit time consuming. Not saying "I'll hold the Sexbound banner with pride and lead us into a new era of updates" but i can at least provide some expansions upon it.

Problem really comes down to 1) If Lox is still lurking, if they care and 2) If the modders responsible for the race supports will update their mods, despite these updates being unnoficial. Also the possibility of the race creators denying permission to their race mods.

itsd like humanity wants to off itself murder torture and genocide are fine but the act of procreation? "thats bad mmkay?" fuck people who cares what "they" think "they" are but fearful mindless sheep who wish to abolish free speech, freedom of expression all forms of art which they blame for their kids shortcomings and would gladly give up the totality of their freedoms for a iota of a sense of _false_ security  "lets give up all our rights and act like that makes us safe!"
