(SOLVED) Skin looks wet, how to remove this effect?

I noticed since a while that the skin of my character (female) and of most NPCs looks wet. The effect is applied to the torso but not to hands feet or head (so these look very different from the rest of the body). I'm trying to remove this effect but I have no idea where it is coming from. I have no mods installed that should apply this. What I already looked at:

- Reinstalled CBBE bodies and regenerated the files in BodySlide

- Reinstalled the skin mod, even tried another skin mod

- Forcibly installing the original Skyrim texture files for females

- Checked ENB but all effects are disabled and it is set to only apply the boost and memory fixes.

 

If this does not come from the texture or meshes, where can it be coming from? Hoping for some help...

Can u post screenshot how it looks like and write your plugin/mod list?

Because if it shows up also on the vanilla skin textures it must be something other then body mod.

What skin texture mod were you trying to use? It looks like something with the specular maps.

Go to "Data\textures\actors\character\female" find "femalebody_1_s" and open it. If it looks sweaty than its the reason why u have that effect. I'm not sure if u can delete it and just play normal without that, but u can try, if not, than you will need to find replacer that doesn't look sweaty.

I tried Mature Skin, Bijin Skin (currently installed) and I manually reinstalled the original Skyrim meshes and textures for females from the BSA files. The latter attempt replaced the CBBE body with the original one including the underwear, but the wet effect was still being applied to the torso and the hand/foot/neck colors didn't match

 

(when extracting the texture I replaced 4 files: femalebody_1.dds, femalebody_1_msn.dds, femalebody_1_s.dds, femalebody_1_sk.dds in textures\Actor\character\female

You can play with no "femalebody_1_s".

The _s file looks completely black. Removing it makes no difference

Turns out a follower mod (Luna) modifies the skin texture for females in its .esp file. I removed the modification in Tes5Edit

I see that the mod author has also posted a fix.

Hey Musje, I have the opposite problem, how could I find what esp is modifying my texture files? Tes5Edit?

TESVEdit is the tool to use but while it is possible I doubt that a follower mod has overwritten or changed your default textures. Follower mods usually come with their own textures so unless the author of the mod has made a mistake in his/her esp then there should not be anything which changes any other textures.

If the author has made no mistake, the mod is without additional textures and folders - but uses the existing textures.

If it using the default textures then nothing should change. It is either author error or user error. ? It might help if we knew which of the 75 million follower mods we are talking about. ?

There is a mod that overwrite or better disables my specular textures, it happens that it shows only on my character and only if I use the command "player.sexchange" or change race on Racemenu, but after a while it disappears, but it never shows on any npc's.

 I tried removing Blush when aroused, slavetats, and something else, but no success, so if you can tell me how can I use Tes5Edit to find the problem I will be glad.

Why do you think it is a mod that is responsible when it is you who that is changing things? If you change your PC from female to male then it will use a different set of skin textures (male). If you change it to a different race? I don't use Demoniac so I don't know how it sets up thing when you install it via the FOMOD.

Have you tried reinstalling Demoniac and having another look at the options?

Unless you are using a custom race for your PC then it will not show up in TESEdit.

No wait, I try to explain myself better, 

I installed those demoniac textures, they are in the right folder, so they shows correctly in bodyslide, in CK and even in the loading screen, and when i create a character on racemenu it shows with the right "femalebody_1_s.dds". The problem is that after a while the glossyness goes away without any apparent reason, and to have it back I have to use the console "player.sexchange" two times or Racemenu to switch to another race and back, it is already quite annoying. But more annoying is that none of the NPC loads the "femalebody_1_s.dds".

My character is a simple redguard.

With your latest explanation it does sound like a mod is changing something. One way to check this would be to uninstall Demoniac and try a different texture mod.

What that mod could be changing things I don't know but I would look at mods which affect your PC's condition - iNeeds, pregnancy mods that sort of thing.

Another option would be to start a new game with all but essential mods disable and add them a bunch at a time until the problem reappears.

No success, tried another texture, same result. 

Tried even the second solution, works for a while, but after loading a save, glossiness disappear, I can survive with it, but is a bit annoying. do you know a workaround like for example merge diffuse with specular or something like this?
