HL_Maids adds a complete, story-driven Maid career to The Sims 4. Take the job, travel to a client's home and clean it while the owners go about their lives around you, then decide how far you'll go to climb the ranks. Built for WickedWhims, but works without it. Flirting is optional: you can also get promoted just by working your shifts. Current version: 0.2.5. How it works Take the job. Join the Maid career (young adults, adults and elders) and head to a client's home in uniform each shift. Once you arrive the house gets dirty, and you clean it one object at a time: toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, counters, stoves, microwaves and coffee makers. On-screen goals and the shift's performance meter track your progress. You only get goals for objects the house actually has, and the residents won't clean your assigned objects for you. The workload grows with your level, starting at one of each chore and reaching the full workload at the top ranks. A house that's alive. The homeowners live their lives while you work. They eat, watch TV, chat and may flirt with you on their own, all without leaving the lot. An owner with a job of their own stays home while your shift lasts. Owners are always adult humans: no pets, horses or kids. Owner requests. Every now and then an owner asks you for a favor. It can be a coffee, taking out the trash, mopping up a puddle they spilled or, from level 4 with high friendship and romance, a massage. Do it and you get a tip, some friendship and points for the shift. If you turn it down or let it lapse, there's no penalty. Climb the ranks. There are ten levels, from Maid in Training to Service Matron (Valet in Training to Majordomo for male Sims). Each one has its own narrative and pay, from §15 an hour at the start to §135 at the top. You can complete every promotion task in one of two ways: Romance with your clients. This is the fast way. Shifts at clients' homes. Work a set number of them: 2 at the start, up to 5 at the top. Only shifts where you go along with your maid count. Shifts you send her to alone don't. You still need good performance, and you go up one level at a time. Once you reach Trusted Maid (level 4), the agency trains you: on your next shift your maid gets the Speed Cleaner trait. Work the homeowner. Serving a home marks its owner as your client. Look for "Household client" in their relationship panel. Only romance with your clients counts toward the romance path. Raise it through the normal Romance menu, WickedWhims or anything you like. Romance you already have with a client counts too, so a task can show as done right away. While you work, clients get a flirty "Eyes on the maid" moodlet. A new client also starts with a small spark, so your first flirt isn't a sure rejection. Propositions. From level 3, clients make you propositions during your shift: real simoleons for something that isn't in the contract. The offer grows with your rank. By default it also rises with your romance with that client and with the home's wealth. You can switch the pay mode to Strangers pay more (new clients pay extra) or Fixed (only your level counts). Accept: the money goes to your household, you get the "Well paid" moodlet and your romance with that client goes up. With WickedWhims installed (and its scenes left on in Settings), a scene with them starts right there in the house. Refuse: you get the "You set the price" moodlet. There's no penalty. Propositions and requests never stack. Only one event happens at a time, with a break in between. Choose your style. There are three work tones: Clean thoroughly: raises your performance. Flirt with the owner: a flirty mood, but your performance goes down. Play hard to get: your pace, your rules. Your mood on the job also changes with your rank, from tense to flirty to in charge. Answer the boss. Four chats with your boss show up on their own every few days. Accept one and you get a bonus of §300 to §1,000 plus a moodlet. Clean-only mode. If you'd rather just clean, turn it on. You get no propositions, no flirty moodlets and no boss chats, and the massage request goes too (the Flirt work tone is still there if you pick it yourself). You can switch it on or off whenever you like, even mid-shift. It removes the flirting, not the theme: the career's texts stay as written. Pick the house. Client homes rotate at random, skipping the last five you visited whenever there are other homes to choose from, or you can fix one home. Switch "Homes shown" to "All homes" to also work for another of your own played families. The family you're playing right now can't be picked. If the chosen family moves, your maid follows them to their new home. Make it yours. Click your maid and choose Maid > "Maids — Settings…". The first page has the client home and Clean-only mode, plus two sections: "Shift work…": how much there is to clean (Light, Normal, or Heavy, where the house gets dirty again mid-shift), workload by career level, and owner requests (Normal, Frequent or Off). "Roleplay & scenes…": proposition frequency (Rare, Normal, Frequent or Never), proposition pay and the WickedWhims scenes. Most of what's new (Clean-only mode, workload by level, owner requests, propositions and scenes) can be turned off there, no need to uninstall. Features 10-level active career with a maid uniform, custom icons and its own narrative at every rank, plus male titles for male Sims Real cleaning gameplay: goals for each object across 8 kinds of objects, only for what the house has, with a workload that grows with your level Homeowners who live in their house during your shift Owner requests (coffee, trash, puddle, and a massage from level 4) that pay a tip Two ways up at every level: romance with your clients, or a set number of shifts worked Propositions from level 3 with real money, priced by your rank, the relationship and the home's wealth. There are 3 pay modes, and frequency goes down to Never Four boss chats that show up on their own, each with a bonus and a moodlet The Speed Cleaner trait as a gift at level 4 3 work tones: Clean thoroughly, Flirt with the owner, Play hard to get Clean-only mode, which you can toggle at any time Work for random clients, a fixed home, or your own played families A settings menu in sections, where most features can be switched off WickedWhims integration (optional): an accepted proposition starts a scene with that homeowner, right in their house English text throughout, with community translations supported. A translation kit and a debug add-on are separate downloads Requirements The Sims 4 + Get to Work (required). The career runs on that pack's active-career system. WickedWhims by TURBODRIVER (optional but recommended, not included). Without it, the career, the requests and the propositions all still work. Accepting a proposition pays you either way; WickedWhims adds the scene. Installation This page has three files: HL_Maids.zip: the mod. HL_Maids_Debug_addon.zip: optional, only for reporting problems. HL_Maids_Translations_Kit.zip: for translators. To install the mod: Extract HL_Maids.zip into a folder named HL_Maids inside your Mods folder (the zip has no folder of its own). You should end up with Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/HL_Maids/ containing HL_Maids.package and HL_Maids.ts4script (plus a README). Keep both files together, at most one folder deep inside Mods. In game, go to Options > Game Options > Other, tick "Enable Custom Content and Mods" and "Script Mods Allowed", then restart. If anything looks stale, delete localthumbcache.package in The Sims 4 folder. Updating: finish your current shift before updating. Your saves and promotion progress are kept, and the new shift-based task starts at 0. A shift saved halfway through may lose its task list after an update. If that happens, just start a new shift. Uninstall: quit the job in game first, then delete the Mods/HL_Maids folder. Translations (community) The mod ships in English. Translations work as drop-in language packs. Download a HL_Maids_Translation_<LANG>.package and put it in your Mods folder itself (the folder above HL_Maids, not inside it), and the game uses that language. Remove it and the mod falls back to English. A community translation shows any text newer than its version (everything added in 0.2.5, for example) in English until it's updated. Want to translate it into your language? HL_Maids_Translations_Kit.zip has one ready-made package per language, with every string in English: Open yours in Sims 4 Studio (Tools > STBL editor) or the Sims 4 Translator. Translate the values only. Don't change the keys or the instance. Save it, keeping the name HL_Maids_Translation_XX.package, and share it. (WickedWhims-style: players just drop in one file, no extra tools needed.) French Translation -- Angelus75 German Translation -- Kai Renner PT-BR Translation -- Claudio Xoio Compatibility & notes Works alongside other careers and gameplay mods. The career, its events, moodlets and pay are the mod's own, and it doesn't replace any EA text. Known issue: like every active career in the game, switching households or travelling with another Sim mid-shift ends the maid's shift early. Finish the shift first. Your chosen client home and the rotation memory are saved per save game, tied to the household you're playing. English only out of the box. Other languages come from the community packs above. Reporting a problem: install the debug add-on by putting HL_Maids_Debug.ts4script next to the mod in Mods/HL_Maids/. Repeat what happened, then send the file Mods/HL_Maids_data/hl_maids.log with a short description. Without the add-on, the mod writes no log. Credits Home Lacter: design, code, packaging. HL_Gastro — Gastronomy Career (Chef / Bartender) [SFW] View File Straight up, before you download: this one is SFW. There is no adult content in 0.1.0 and nothing here needs WickedWhims. An optional adult layer is on my plan for a later version, but it does not exist yet — do not download this expecting it. This release is free and public from day one. If you want to support the next version, my Patreon is at patreon.com/HomeLacter. Yes, chef. HL_Gastro is a full active gastronomy career for The Sims 4, built on top of Dine Out. No rabbit hole: your Sim travels to a real restaurant, puts on the venue's uniform and works a real shift. You start at the bottom. Four jobs in the same restaurant: Host. Welcome the parties at the podium and show them to their table. Busser. Check on the tables, clear the dishes, keep the room presentable. No orders yet. Server. Take the orders and serve the food. Kitchen Assistant. The chef hands you the station for one shift. Every one of those is a real post of the venue: the mod puts your Sim in the job Dine Out already has — host, waiter, chef, bartender — with its uniform and its native interactions. Then you choose your path at level 5: Chef, six levels from Commis Chef to World-Renowned Chef. Your restaurant is fixed for the rest of your career, rated one to five stars. The fancier ones unlock as you climb, and they tip better at closing time. Bartender, six levels from Amateur Mixologist to Renowned Bartender, in a bar, nightclub or lounge. The shift is yours to run. In Manual mode, the default, you decide when to do each step with the game's own actions: check up on a table, take the order, serve the plate when the pass rings, cook each step at the station. Rather watch? Flip to Automatic and your Sim works alone. What else is in the box A medal at the end of every shift — bronze, silver or gold — based on the goals you completed. The thresholds come from the real score of that shift's goals. Work tones: work with care, full throttle, chat with the staff. Custom moodlets and custom career messages too. The owner shows up to praise you or to scold you. In-game settings: pick your restaurant and your bar, switch the shift control, and decide whether the venue puts other waiters on the floor while you work. English and Spanish built in; every other language falls back to English. A translation kit and a debug add-on are separate downloads. Requirements The Sims 4 + Dine Out and Get to Work. Both packs are required. At least one Restaurant lot in your save. Dine Out does not place them by itself, so drop one from My Library. The mod tells you in game if there is none. A Bar, Nightclub or Lounge for the Bartender branch. Install Unzip HL_Gastro.zip into your Mods folder — the zip already brings its own HL_Gastro folder, so you end up with Mods/HL_Gastro/HL_Gastro.package and Mods/HL_Gastro/HL_Gastro.ts4script, together and one folder deep. Enable Script Mods in the game options and restart. Delete localthumbcache.package if anything looks stale. Downloads HL_Gastro.zip — the mod itself (package + ts4script) plus the README. This is the one you need. HL_Gastro_Debug_addon.zip — cheats and a support log. Optional, and handy if you want to report something. HL_Gastro_Translations_Kit.zip — 16 ready-made language templates and the instructions. What is tested and what is not I would rather say this on the page than in a bug report. The four starting jobs are tested in game, and so is the chef station flow, because that is the level 4 shift. The star-based tip of the Chef branch and the whole Bartender branch are not tested yet. They ship in 0.1.0, but I have not run them in game, so if you go down either of those roads, reports in the thread help a lot. Known issues Like every active career, switching households or travelling with another Sim mid-shift ends the shift early. Loading a save made mid-shift lets your Sim do the first step alone; after that it goes back to manual. "Take Order" works on any customer — the order that gets cooked is the one that was actually waiting. What's coming next Plans, not promises. None of this is in 0.1.0: Cooking skill that actually goes up while you work, and skill requirements to get promoted. Boss interactions: get praised, get scolded, get fired with a story behind it. Food critic nights, unlockable recipes and qualities, and a say in the menu. Happy hour, theme nights and private events for the Bartender. An optional adult layer with WickedWhims in a later version. Credits Built with Sims4ForgeStudio. Translations are welcome with the kit — I ask for reciprocal credit and a link back to the mod's official page. The cover art is AI-generated; the screenshots are straight from the game. — Home Lacter Submitter Home Lacter Submitted 09/20/26 Category Extensions Requirements The Sims 4: Dine Out and The Sims 4: Get to Work. HL_Maids — Maid Career [18+] View File HL_Maids adds a complete, story-driven Maid career to The Sims 4. Credits HomeLacter: design, code, packaging.
