HL_Maids adds a complete, story-driven Maid career to The Sims 4: take the job, travel to a client's home, clean it while the place gets dirty around you — and decide how far you'll go to climb the ranks. Built for WickedWhims, but works without it.

How it works

Take the job. Join the Maid career and head to a client's home each shift. The place gets dirty around you in real time and you clean it object by object — toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, counters — with on-screen goals and a dynamic performance meter.
Climb the ranks. Ten levels, from Maid in Training to Matron of the Household, each with its own narrative, uniform and pay. But the promotion arc isn't won with a sponge alone — it asks you to charm the homeowner too.
Work the homeowner. A dedicated "Maid" interaction menu unlocks more moves as your level and relationship grow — from holding their gaze to offering yourself for "extra tasks" — with flirty animations and matching moods.
Choose your style. Three work tones — clean diligently, flirt with the owner, or play hard to get — each shifting your performance and your mood.
Answer the boss. Chance cards from your boss appear as you rise: a private word, a client who asked for you by name, a test of how far your ambition goes — each paying a tip and leaving you with a feeling.
Go further (with WickedWhims). At level 5+, "extra tasks" ends exactly where you'd imagine — with the homeowner, on a bed, and a clean finish afterwards.

Features

10-level active career with a maid uniform, custom icons and its own narrative at every rank
Real cleaning gameplay — per-object goals, dirt that builds during your shift, a score that counts no matter who cleans
A "Maid" interaction menu — 9 social moves on the homeowner, gated by level and relationship, with flirty animations and matching moods
Your boss's chance cards, each paying a tip and a mood
3 work tones: clean diligently, flirt with the owner, or play hard to get
WickedWhims integration (optional): at level 5+, "extra tasks" ends with the homeowner, on a bed, and a clean finish
English text throughout; community translations supported

Requirements

The Sims 4 + Get to Work — required (the career runs on that pack's active-career system).
WickedWhims by TURBODRIVER — optional but recommended. Not included. Without it the career, roleplay and interactions all play the same; the level-5+ "extra tasks" interaction simply does nothing extra.

Installation

Unzip.
Drop the HL_Maids folder (with HL_Maids.package + HL_Maids.ts4script) into your Mods folder.
Make sure script mods are enabled in Game Options, then restart.

Translations (community)

The mod ships in English. Translations work as drop-in language packs: download a HL_Maids_Translation_<LANG>.package, place it in your Mods folder (in the folder above HL_Maids), and that language is used — remove it and it falls back to English.
Want to translate it to your language? Grab the translation template from the kit, open it in Sims 4 Studio (STBL / Translation tab), replace the English text with yours, and save. That file is the translation — share it for others to use. (WickedWhims-style: simple, no extra tools.)

German Translation -- Kai Renner

PT-BR Translation    -- Claudio Xoio

Compatibility & notes

Works alongside other gameplay mods; the career, buffs and economy are self-contained.
English only out of the box; other languages via the community packs above.

What's New in Version 0.1.4

Released

Fixes (all straight from your reports — thank you, truly)

  • Promotions no longer get stuck: the "charm the owner" task silently failed if your maid knew any Sim without a romance bar — which means almost every real save. It now completes properly, and if it was already pending it will tick on its own the next time your romance moves or you load the lot. (Reminder: the promotion lands when you finish a paid shift, not the moment the bar fills.)
  • Your first day of work is no longer lost: if you took the job a few hours before the shift, the game silently skipped the entire first day (no goals, no pay). The first shift now always runs.
  • No more clients with hooves: homes are only picked if a human adult actually lives there. No one else will be sent to serve a horse.
  • Dual-career compatibility (TURBODRIVER's Unlimited Jobs Plus): the mod no longer hijacks your other career's commute.
  • The "Maid" menu no longer falls apart: interactions used to spill out of the menu once a conversation started; they now stay grouped for the whole shift.

Changes

  • The settings menu is now called "Maids — Settings…" (shorter, same place: click your maid).
  • The Debug add-on now logs even more diagnostics — if anything acts up, install it and share your hl_maids.log.

HL_Maids Debug add-on (optional)

A small companion for bug reports and testing. It doesn't change gameplay at all.

What it does

  • Writes a detailed log of everything the mod does to Mods/HL_Maids_data/hl_maids.log
  • Enables the maids.* cheat commands below

Install: drop HL_Maids_Debug.ts4script into the same folder as the mod (Mods/HL_Maids/) and restart the game. Delete the file to turn it all off — the main mod runs clean without it.

Reporting a bug? Install the add-on, reproduce the problem, then attach Mods/HL_Maids_data/hl_maids.log (plus any lastException*.txt from your The Sims 4 folder) to your post. That log usually tells us exactly what happened

  • maids.info (Shows what the mod sees: career level, who it detected as the homeowner, shift status. Try this first if something looks wrong)
  • maids.nivel <1-10> (Sets your maid's career level)
  • maids.romance [0-100] (Sets romance & friendship with the detected homeowner - default 100)
