About This File
HL_Maids adds a complete, story-driven Maid career to The Sims 4: take the job, travel to a client's home, clean it while the place gets dirty around you — and decide how far you'll go to climb the ranks. Built for WickedWhims, but works without it.
How it works
Take the job. Join the Maid career and head to a client's home each shift. The place gets dirty around you in real time and you clean it object by object — toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, counters — with on-screen goals and a dynamic performance meter.
Climb the ranks. Ten levels, from Maid in Training to Matron of the Household, each with its own narrative, uniform and pay. But the promotion arc isn't won with a sponge alone — it asks you to charm the homeowner too.
Work the homeowner. Charm your clients through the game's normal Romance menu (or WickedWhims) — it all counts toward promotions. Serving a home marks its owner as your client, and from level 3 clients start making you propositions: real money for something that isn't in the contract. Accept or refuse — your choice, your price.
Choose your style. Three work tones — clean diligently, flirt with the owner, or play hard to get — each shifting your performance and your mood.
Answer the boss. Chance cards from your boss appear as you rise: a private word, a client who asked for you by name, a test of how far your ambition goes — each paying a tip and leaving you with a feeling.
Go further (with WickedWhims). At level 5+, "extra tasks" ends exactly where you'd imagine — with the homeowner, on a bed, and a clean finish afterwards.
Features
10-level active career with a maid uniform, custom icons and its own narrative at every rank
Real cleaning gameplay — per-object goals, dirt that builds during your shift, a score that counts no matter who cleans
A "Maid" interaction menu — 9 social moves on the homeowner, gated by level and relationship, with flirty animations and matching moods
Your boss's chance cards, each paying a tip and a mood
3 work tones: clean diligently, flirt with the owner, or play hard to get
WickedWhims integration (optional): at level 5+, "extra tasks" ends with the homeowner, on a bed, and a clean finish
English text throughout; community translations supported
Requirements
The Sims 4 + Get to Work — required (the career runs on that pack's active-career system).
WickedWhims by TURBODRIVER — optional but recommended. Not included. Without it the career, roleplay and interactions all play the same; the level-5+ "extra tasks" interaction simply does nothing extra.
Installation
Unzip.
Drop the HL_Maids folder (with HL_Maids.package + HL_Maids.ts4script) into your Mods folder.
Make sure script mods are enabled in Game Options, then restart.
Translations (community)
The mod ships in English. Translations work as drop-in language packs: download a HL_Maids_Translation_<LANG>.package, place it in your Mods folder (in the folder above HL_Maids), and that language is used — remove it and it falls back to English.
Want to translate it to your language? Grab the translation template from the kit, open it in Sims 4 Studio (STBL / Translation tab), replace the English text with yours, and save. That file is the translation — share it for others to use. (WickedWhims-style: simple, no extra tools.)
French Translation -- Angelus75
German Translation -- Kai Renner
PT-BR Translation -- Claudio Xoio
Compatibility & notes
Works alongside other gameplay mods; the career, buffs and economy are self-contained.
English only out of the box; other languages via the community packs above.

What's New in Version 0.2.2
Released
This one matters — please update even if the mod seems fine on your end.
Fixed
- Saving no longer fails. The client mark introduced in v0.2 used an internal ID the game's save system can't store — once a homeowner was marked (your first shift), every save attempt failed: endless "saving…", Last Exceptions on autosave. If this hit you: update, load your last good save, and saving works again — no cleanup needed, your save was never corrupted, it just couldn't be written. Huge thanks to everyone who reported it, especially whoever posted the exact error message — that one line solved it.
- Promotions now always progress. The career task could silently stop counting your romance if you had a different Sim selected when the shift started. Now the mod always tracks the actual maid — and charming any adult of the client household counts, not just the person the agency assigned you to.
- Client propositions (the money offers) now correctly involve the maid — not whichever Sim you happened to have selected.
Nothing else changed — settings, homes and careers carry over as they are.
