SexLab PONG!

Nope, I haven't invented Smellovision!

PONG is Prison Overhaul Next Generation. I should probably explain.

The original plan was to modify xaz Prison Overhaul so that it would accept NPCs. That was probably going to mean bundling much if not all of XPO in the Love Of Mara mod.

The thing is, by the time I've done all that, it's not any more work to package the XPO content in an esm and document the entry points in case anyone else wants to put NPCs in the pillory.

I talked to xaz about it and got permission, so that's what I'm thinking of doing. If it looks like too much extra work, I'll probably revert to plan A and just hack it.

tl;dnr: I've got the dialogue trees stable at last and I'm finally starting on the XPO side of FtLoM.

your first work was before my time; I perused your dead wiki more than once pining for what might have been. I'm not in a position Right Now to offer any alpha testing or anything more than moral support.

But if I may, I suggest you release early and release often. The best way to not burn out is to get the positive comments of competent people. The trick is to not get frustrated by the questions of the clueless :)

Releasing quickly and often can also mean more work and stress. I think it's better to just take the time you need and release whenever you want to.

Everyone should see as to context for a change.

If fast pace (time & motivation available) = quick & often.
If time is lacking or the progress need time to be achieved (script/level/etc, they are some portion who need time to get trough).

Will be intersting to see how it evolve in any case.

Well, I tried "early and often" last time. It's generally a good approach, but there are some drawbacks.

One of them is that, if you're planning a weekly reslease schedule and you get stuck on something for three weeks, it adds to the feeling of pressure. I got that a lot last time.

The other one is that most of your keenest players already know all the surprises when the mod is complete. Keeping things somewhat under wraps helps keep the surprise intact. Of course, anyone reading this blog is going to know a lot about what's coming anyway.

So the plan is to keep an alpha test group and release to them as often as I can. Then, when I have something that is roughly stable and which has a least one girl who can run through the quest from end to end (as it were) I'll do a public beta.  Then bugfix updates for the beta and alpha testing for the new girls.

Best keep it small in early stages. This blog is all that's needed to keep us informed on the progress. While I understand that players are eager test your work it also leads to requests for bug fixes and those tend to disrupt the development.

Better give the mod some body and clothes before we try to rip them off :)

I'm ready to test it out for you, if the offer still stands :)

Cool. I'll invite you into the alpha discussion.

Hmm, about those dependencies. I have them all except ZazResources.esp and SexLabZaZAnimations.esp, I can't seem to find these two.

Yeah, the dependency list is a bit out of date. I'll update it with the next release

I would love to take part in the alpha testing. I'm fairly new to this community (I only recently got a computer that can play Skyrim at a decent framerate), but I've gotten pretty deep into modding, and I think I'd be a pretty good tester. Also, it would be so much fun!

I think I've got all the alpha testers I need for the time being.  I'll bear you in mind in case things change :)
