Mh... I was playing with the Idea of having him outright banned from entering one City. I never really could decide which one, I mean he already was in one of the two capitals and apart from One in all of the bigger city's ? And it would be half pointless since he just turns into Lessy and walks in anyways.. xD

they function as plot device and move the side story forward. So they are not ony not useless but essential ?

That and Arlan has history with those Things, it's always good to remind you how much of an asshole he is. If goblins love you.. You are not solving the problem, you are the problem xD
