Dawnguard Retold Season 4 - Part 1: Recap Meeting
Dawnguard Retold:
Season 4 Begins Now!
(This is a recap episode with long exposition)
Hmm...
Agmaer,
do you have a minute?
*CLANK*
*Thunk*
Anya! Of course.
I have a favor to ask you.
What is it?
I was sort of wondering, if you'd like to join my unit...
I know you're already with the scouts, but...
I'd really like you on my team.
Are you kidding? I'd be honored!
It'll be just like when we were recruits.
Anya,
Isran needs you for a meeting.
A meeting already? I just woke up.
It's a full leadership meeting.
You too Gunmar.
!
Ai, I hear ya.
"The last, but probably most important discussion in this volume,
pertains to the existence of dwarven machines.
Dwarven military machines also range from 'Sphere' warrior,
to the justly feared 'Centurion' whose reported height is double the size of a human."
We should probably get going soon.
The meeting is in a few minutes.
We can read chapter 3 tomorrow.
Thank you Sorine.
Your company makes these days bearable.
If only I could see your beautiful face.
*Blush*
Maybe there's a way...
I can remind you.
It's good to see everyone together again.
The point of this meeting is simple: Get everyone on the same page.
It's time we know our enemy.
Serana is going to tell us everything about the Volkihar Clan.
The Volkihar Clan is the oldest clan in Skyrim, led by my father - Lord Harkon.
Him and my mother Valerica are both purebloods, as well as the most powerful vampires I know.
Unlike my father, my mother has no interest in blotting out the sun.
The Volkihar clan consists of over 60 vampires, but our true power is hard to measure.
The clan's influence extends to other vampire groups, mercenaries, corrupt officials, and more.
...usually integrated into normal society.
And that's not even including thrall...
They have influence, but what about their defenses?
To put it bluntly, The Dawnguard wouldn't stand a chance at attacking Castle Volkihar.
If we're going to stop my father, our best bet is to go after the prophecy.
What? The Castle had no guards?
Ah, I forgot you've been there.
Gargoyles are positioned all around the castle to defend against intruders.
There's also an illusion spell that prevents the castle from being seen.
On the rare occasion people that people are invited to the castle, they are taken through fog by a ferry.
Even if we somehow got a ship big enough to get us all there, the Watchman would see us coming.
Not to mention the vampires inside hardly need protection.
Are they all this strong?
For the most part, yes, but there some important ones I should mention.
The most elite and powerful vampires in the clan are known as The Court of Harkon. There are only 10, including Harkon himself.
In the centuries I've been asleep, 9 of them remain the same.
There's Orthjolf and Vingalmo - Harkon's advisors.
These two rivals have been fighting for Harkon's right hand for a millennium.
Garan Marethi: The oldest member of the Court - as well as the most mysterious.
He's the only vampire I've met that actually seems loyal to my father.
Feran Sadri: The alchemist. He tends to avoid the politics of the Court.
To my knowledge, these five are the only purebloods left in the clan.
Though there used to be more.
Wha' about Luna?
Pff... Luna wasn't even in the Court.
She was first generation at best.
If any of you had seen a pureblood, you wouldn't be alive to tell the tale.
Except Isran.
I'm afraid not even wolf boy could survive an encounter with a pureblood.
No, Beleval's right.
You...? You've seen a pureblood?
I sincerely doubt that.
Not just seen.
I've killed one.
