Aerina looks around at what is to her, alien surroundings, trying to associate it with any place she has seen before

Aerina: So much ash... Gods... People could be forgiven for mistaking this place for a plane of Oblivion...

 

 

The salty voice of the sailor calls out... whilst working on some leather

Sailor: Your'nt first to say that lass...

Aerina: The word.. "Shit-hole" comes to mind...

Sailor: We warned ya lass... That'lt be 250 gold now...

Aerina: *Hands coin purse to the sailor*. Fine... Anywhere I can get a drink in this forsaken place?

 

 

Sailor: Taverns in town, shut til' s'evenin though

Aerina: Thanks... Guess I'll just take a walk around town.. get off that damned boat for a change...

 

 

She walks down the waterfront to the outskirts of the town where the ruins of old houses mark the divide between the town and the wilderness

Aerina: Gods... That volcano really has effected this place... What a dump...

 

 

Aerina: For a place so far north... it's bloody hot here...

Hmmm... something just doesn't feel right about this place...

 

She stashes her coat away and walks over to the waterfront

Aerina: *Sigh* I wonder how long Astrid and Dad are going to take... Feels like a lifetime ago I last saw them.

 

 

Aerina: Bah.. I should stop worrying... They'll get here soon I'm sure...

Aerina: I should go hunt down this tavern... Could really do with a fucking drink after that voyage across the sea...

 

 

A lone Orc stalks Aerina walk through the ruins of the town

Aerina: *Thinking* I wonder why it's so quiet?

 

 

Orc: Hey there girl... where'd you think you're going?

Aerina looks the orc up and down, uneasy by his presence

Aerina: That's not really any of your business....

 

 

Orc: Oh but it is my business whore.

Aerina: What the fuck did you just call me you balding prick!?

Orc: I'm going to let that slide just this once... I'm Mogrul.

 

 

Mogrul: See... I think a bit titty elf gal like you could use an... "introduction" into who really run's this place

Aerina: I sure hope you're not referring to such a little boy like yourself

 

 

He pushes Aerina against the wall of ruined house

Mogrul: Sooner or later everyone in this town comes crawling to me for something... Money ain't easy to come by here...

way I see it... Both of us could benefit from a body like yours... if you catch my drift..

 

Aerina slaps his hand away

Aerina: Fuck off foul orc. I'm not going to be your town whore to pimp out... And if you touch me again... It'll be the last thing you do.

Mogrul: Hah fiesty one... Fine, you may leave... for now... but you'll come crawling to me when you need something, everyone on this island does.

 

 

She pushes Mogrul aside and walks off into town.

Aerina: Pffft... Over my dead ass, orc...

Mogrul: *Chuckles* That can be arranged...

 

 

Aerina: Gods... I could use a drink after that.

 

 

Aerina: This looks like the place... Odd looking building... I hope they have mead on this fucking island...

 

 

She enters the tavern and is greeted by a sickly smell of stale alcohol, She heads over to the bar to find a stern looking Dark elf behind pouring out drinks.

Aerina: Got any mead innkeep? I'm parched

Dark Elf: Ale or Sujamma... no mead

Aerina: No mead!... urgh fine... I'll have and ale and try some of that soojurma is it?

Dark Elf: Sujamma...

 She takes her drinks and finds a table back up the stairs she had to go down to get to the bar

 

 

Aerina sits down at the table getting comfortable. She takes a sip of the alien looking Sujamma

Aerina: *Spit out in disgust* Urgh... that tastes like fucking troll piss

A man next to her bursts out into laughter

 

Man: Troll piss huh? Got first hand experience of that have you?

Aerina turns to the man, his features meeting her expectations of the Nordic accent she just heard

 

Aerina: *Laughs* Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to...

 

The two of them get up to chat

Man: Funny... don't often hear of an elf gal with a Nordic accent

Aerina: *Sarcastic* What ever do you mean? You can clearly see I'm an Argonian...

Man: *chuckle* What's your name gal?

Aerina: Aerina

Man: Erik...

 

Erik: Would you like something to drink?

Aerina: As long as it's not more of that "Troll piss"... Sure.

Erik: Hah! Don't worry about that.. just ale...

 

The two chat for a few hours over some drinks, exchanging tales before Erik guides the conversation down a more flirtatious route

Erik: So you still haven't told me what brings a beauty like yourself to Solstheim?

Aerina: Could ask the same of a rugged Nord man...

 

Before Erik can say anything, Aerina's attentions shifts as she notices Mogrul walk into the tavern 

Aerina: Shit... step in front of me... quick!

Erik: What? What's wrong?

 

Aerina: That creepy fucker Mogrul just walked in...

Had a run in with him earlier.. would rather not make my presence noticed

 

 

Erik: *Disgust* Urgh... I hate that serpent, prick thinks he mightier than the gods because he pays off House Redoran to keep their nose out his business.

Aerina: Hmpfh.. Explains why he thought he could suggest pimping me out

Erik: Slimy bastard... Come on, lets take our drinks and get out of here.

The two find a quiet spot at the docks away from the tavern and Mogrul to continue there chat.

Erik: You still never answered my question. Why Solstheim? This place is a shithole!

Aerina: Bah... it's a long story.. I'd probably bore you anyway...

Erik: Sounds like an excuse of a gal who's hiding something

 

Aerina: *Chuckle* That obvious huh? You'll just have to get to know me better to know more wont you?

Erik: *Laugh* I guess so...

Aerina: What brings you here though?

 

Erik: Running from prosecution back on mainland. Skyrim guards have no authority here...

Aerina: What you do?

Erik: Got revenge for my brother... but guards didn't see it that way

Aerina: Oh...

 

Erik: You okay?

Aerina: *Sigh* Yeah... just reminded me of something that's all..

Erik: What happened to you? You got a revenge story too?

Aerina: Yeah... Another time... perhaps...

 

Erik: Surprised an Innocent gal like you has revenge stories too

Aerina: *Suggestive* What makes you think I'm innocent

 

Erik: *Flirty* Ohh... Done some shady things have we?

Aerina: Wouldn't you like to know...

 

She stares into his eyes in silence before leaning in closer

 

 

 

She rests her head against his after their kiss

Aerina: *Satisfied moan* mmm... Thank you for this... it's been a while

Erik: Likewise Aerina

 

Aerina: I should get back to the tavern and rent a room. Goodnight Erik... I'm sure I'll see you around.

Erik: Goodnight... I'm not going anywhere in a hurry *winking*

She winks back and then heads back to the tavern. 

The next morning, Aerina arises early to check the job listings on the notice board out the front of the tavern

Aerina: Fuck... most of the job listings are by that prick Mogrul...

Prostitution, Hired Merc work, Mining... He really has this place locked down... 

She picks up a job notice from a Master Neloth

Aerina: "Hmm Mercenary required to collect a package"

 

Aerina: Tel Mythrin...

She pulls out her map

Aerina: Fuck... other side of this forsaken island...

Aerina: Fine... it's better than working for that cock Mogrul.

 

Aerina: Astrid and dad need to get here soon... I'm gonna get sick of this place fast...
