Girls Not In Jars

I'm not happy with the direction the whole Girl In A Jar was going.

I mean, I took seven girls who, let's face it, probably had never done anything worse than be a bit snippy with the servants, and I subjected them to four thousand years of torment and sensory deprivation, just so t he player would be able to justify them as mantelpiece ornaments and occasional fuck-toys.

So I'm not going to do it. I'm going to put this project on hold while I rethink the backstory. I will come back to it, but not before I've found a way to get some sort of happy ending for the girls. (Which isn't to say the player will make that choice for them ... but at least it won't be baked into the scenario.

Meanwhile, I thought the girls deserved some downtime, so I found a beach and gave them all some swimsuits.

I think I'll switch tracks and do some stuff with Fallout 4 for a bit. There's some stuff with the Raiders Reform School that I've been wanting to do for a bit.

Cheers!

I don't suppose you could release just the jar part? See if we can put the NPCs we choose inside. Locking up Delphine and leaving her up at the throat of the world for Paarthurnax sounds fun.

I could do. Probably need some work before it's release ready. It's going to have to wait until I get done with what I'm doing on Raider Reform School though.

It'll definitely see release at some point.

Oh yeah, no rush. Just wanted to show interest in a fun project!

I wouldn't be surprised some players won't give the girls a happy ending if they were given the choice.

Hey! This project looks really cool, do you have an idea for when it could be released? Maybe with a spell to trap npcs inside a jar whenever we want.

No ETA as yet. I've been sidetracked onto Fallout for a while, while I thought about what I wanted to do with the plot. Although, I don't think it'll be too long now before I return to this project.

I did think about it. The trouble is, if I do a spells only release I'll never do the actual story and I'd quite like to do the story.

Really looking forward to the Quest... Not as much as a specific Fallout 4 companion release - but still a lot.

I'm definitely looking forward to the girls in jars quest and I'm glad you're thinking of a way to give the girls happy endings. Perhaps if you wanted to let the player keep them in jars without it being evil you could have the girls consent to being magically mindwiped but say that after so long in jars they still feel more comfortable inside. That way the player could take them as followers with some line about how they'd like to get back to the jar to rest up after a while.

You could maybe even give them quests to like make peace with their pasts. Like loyalty quests in bioware games. Maybe if you do the quests you find relatives of theirs still living in Skyrim who would be willing to take them in and rebuild their lives? You could then have them be like special traders related to the spells for the jars. Maybe even have one of them decide to 'Go off travelling Tamriel' I mean you have seven of them they could have different happy endings depending on how you wanted to do it.

You could even let the players keep the collectables by having the girls who don't want to remain in jars encounter evil duplicates that look just like them. (afterall they were taken out of circulation generations ago, perhaps their genes created an identical great grand niece? I mean the the identical great grand nephew is literally canon in one of the Doctor Who stories)
