More Raider Reform School Stuff

Well, I got those tats to work in LooksMenu. That means you can now have your reforming raiders wear heels, a top and have a tattoo.

I found myself in County Crossing when I came to write this up, with a whole bunch of girls until recently resident at Revere Beach Station. So I thought I'd set up a test center there. I just have the three tats done so far, but this means I can leave them on display, and when I change something, I don't need to reapply the tat - I can just go see what it looks like.

ScreenShot108.png

Here's my Breeder girls.

enb2020_4_7_16_14_03.png

I made the tat a little smaller and a bit more central on the ass-cheek.

enb2020_4_7_16_14_14.png

I'm not sure it doesn't need the increased size. That looked OK in game, but it's all sort of distorted here.

ScreenShot100.png

Nope, just rechecked i-game, and it's distorted there, too.

The font design works OK though. Not that there's a lot to go wrong.

enb2020_4_7_16_14_21.png

I only had one captive with particularly dark skin, so I put her on a pole so I could see front and back. Should have probably done that for all of them and saved some space.

ScreenShot105.png

There are definite visibility issues there. How do most tat packs cope with this, I wonder? Maybe I can work out how make it show up in white, and have light and dark versions of everything.

ScreenShot106.png

I mean it's still visible. Mostly.

ScreenShot107.png

Here's some whores.

ScreenShot103.png

I am definitely going to redo that shirt.

enb2020_4_7_16_15_18.png

The ass tat is fine though. The "Have Fun!" part is a little hard to make out, but otherwise it seems OK. So what's making the difference?

ScreenShot104.png

I'm having problems getting the "Ten Caps" but to stand out the way I want it to. Maybe make it solid and rely on the font to distinguish it from the other text. Or I might just leave it for now.

enb2020_4_7_16_15_28.png

Laborers.

ScreenShot96.png

I'm reasonably happy with the front. Not sure it's not a but skew-whiff, though.

enb2020_4_7_13_34_44.png

The back though...

ScreenShot98.png

I went ahead and re-did that with a different font. Same problem.

ScreenShot101.png

So it's probably not the tat, which means it's a geometry issue. Looks like another re-work is due.

And that's about how far I've got. I have the designs for a Dancer tat:

dancer.png   please.png

... but they're not in game yet. I'm also trying to think of suitable text for the "Slave" class. Might skip "Prisoner" altogether.

I shall try again later. I might just play the game for a bit.

This next item is probably going to be a holotape found somewhere in Sanctuary:

Spoiler

Two Hundred years after the Great War, human population levels remain critically low. Radiation reduces fetility, other hazards kill many before they have a chance to reproduce. Worse, a significant number of women of child bearing age are found in so-called "raider gangs" and are apt to die violently before reproducing. Year after year, the Human Race inches towards extinction, and yet no one seems to want to do anything about it.

To this end, we propose a program for the rehabilitation of raiders and the rapid repopulation of the Commonwealth.

  1.  Adventurers and Lawmen in conflict with raiders and other outlaw groups shall be encouraged, where possible, to capture females alive rather than simply shooting them.
  2.  The captured females shall be inducted into a new school: The Raider Reform School.
  3.  New inductees shall be impregnated without delay, by force if need be.
  4.  They shall then be placed in restraints where they shall remain while they become accustomed to their new status
  5.  Children born in the school shall be fostered with carefully vetted couples where they may be raised to be productive members of society
  6.  Within the limits of human biology, students shall remain pregnant at all times. After giving birth, they shall be impregnated once again at the earliest possible opportunity.
  7.  Students that demonstrate qualities of trustworthiness shall be permitted to undertake certain jobs on behalf of the school. To aid in organizing these activities, a caste system shall be established with the following castes:

  •  Prisoner: These are newly captured females, pending formal induction
  •  Breeder: Fertile students awaiting impregnation. It is of course preferable that fertilisation be performed by trusted males of outstanding genetic heritage, but given the limits of human biology this may not always be possible. Breeders are designated "free use" and are available for intercourse with any male that so desires.
  •  Laborer: trusted students may find work either as provisioners or farmers. The Raider Reform School is founded on the priciple of Redemption through Hard Work and Strict Discipline.
  •  Dancer: Dancers raise the morale of a settlement, and may also generate revenue. This is a privileged role and Dancers should not be allowed to grow complacent because of their lighter duties.
  •  Whore: some students may demonstrate enthusiasm for and an aptitude for the sex act itself. These should work as whores where possible. Prices should be set low, given the number of freely available females. Note that the distinction between Whore and Dancer is often blurred. Dancers may be required to service their clients, while Whores may be asked to dance or otherwise entertain from time to time.
  • Security: the most trusted of students may be permitted to guard the settlement, and may be armed at the Headmaster's discretion.
  • Slave: For the truly irredeemable, there is the caste of Slave. These females are stripped of all rights under custom and law. Their duties are essentially those of a Breeder, but with no expectation of eventual release. This caste is particularly suited to the infamous and notorious, who may be displayed in their bondage, pregnant and subjugated, that they may serve as an object lesson to those considering a career outside the law.

This may at first glance seem cruel and even barbaric, but only the sternest of measures hold any hope of returning these women to civilised behavior. In this way, not only will we make useful members of society out of its former dregs, but by increasing the numbers of civilised humans in the Commonwealth, we may at last move away from this culture of tin shacks and scavenged leftovers from before the war, and being to regain the world that was once our birthright, and which may be once again.

[edit]

I tried using  @Indarello's begm file for vaginal cum, with the design substituted, and it works. Kind of.

image.png

I'm not sure why it's picking out the edges rather than the main texture, but it's a start.

I may well have to rework the ass-tat for the white brands thought. This is almost unreadable.

I redid the Whore top. Probably wouldn't have bothered if not for the stupid typo, but I think it looks better. What I did was use Outfit Studio to turn the mesh into an OBJ, then loaded it in Blender and applied the labels there. That took a lot of guesswork out of things.

image.png

There's a bit of a black line down one side there where I forgot to erase the bounding box. So I'll probably end up doing it over once again.

Redone tops:

I'm happier with the graphics now, but the meshwork needs looking at. I think I'll revert back to the original and try again.

Most of these are the same wording as before. I changed some of it, but mainly it's tweaks to the textures.

That motto made so much more sense for a laborer than a slave.

image.png

I will say that I never noticed just how much that 3-pole distorted the arms and shoulders. I don't remember it doing that.

image.png

Already posted this, but what the hell...

image.png

image.png

I found a tileable digital camo pattern for the security caste:

image.png

I think that's a big improvement. Mot for camo purposes particularly, but its more the look I was going for originally.

image.png

Part of the challenge here was getting the dirt and sweat to apply to the writing as well. I think it's worked out fairly well.

image.png

New words for the slave motto. Opinions expressed by the Raider Reform School are not necessarily those of the author, by the way.

image.png

Here's everyone lined up for my photoshoot :)

image.png

One more thing to report: I've managed to get tattoos to apply automatically when one of the tank tops is put on. Kudos to @Invictusbladefor helping me get my head around the process.

image.png

Currently it's only on the "Just Another Sex Slave" top and it applies a Breeder tat on ass and belly. But having got it to work on one, the rest should be fairly simple.

image.png

I just need to make tats for the remaining castes. And fix that clipping at the back. Definitely that.

All tats done and auto adding with the tank tops.

image.png

Little bit of distortion on the roundel, but nothing that's going to bother me unless I look for it.

image.png

The tats are bigger than I wanted, but at least they're all readable.

image.png

I know, we've all seen the breeder ones before:

image.png

Although I did switch "Free Use" to solid text and make it a bit bigger. That's helped a lot.

image.png

I seem to have lost the shadow jail cell on this one, which is mildly annoying. I might try a version with a little more black to it.

image.png

That, at least, is readable now. The "Work Me Hard!" at the bottom could be clearer, but it'll do.

image.png

Not sure about this one. It's a bit big and a but unsubtle.I'm temped to shrink it down a bit and maybe put a heart behind it, see if I can't make it look more like a logo and less like graffitti.

image.png

I'm happy with that ass tat.

image.png

Another one where I got rid of the outline font. Much improved for it, I think.

image.png

And that one is pretty much unchanged.

All the tops are now scripted, so if you give a girl a breeder top, she'll get the breeder tats as well. And if you take it off, the tats go away. And that's more or less the last thing I wanted to do before release. It would be nice to fix some of that clipping though. And maybe add a holotape or two around sanctuary with some flavor text.

It would be nice to have some sort of quest structure as well. Maybe just a script that listened for various events and paid the player some caps for various events (on the basis that someone else is sponsoring the school). Maybe 50 caps for each girl captured, another 50 for each fetus implanted in her womb, and 100 for each baby given up for adoption by responsible citizens. It's going to need something like that or else the population boom is going to kill your settlements. And selling them to Trashcan Carla seems a bit low, somehow.

But most of that can wait. I'll look at maybe a 0.1 release.

otherwise your settlement

I have a strong urge to do some right-cheek designs specific to the Raider Queens. Just something simple like "THIS is Sparta!" Or "Red Fucking Tourette". Just so you can tell who they are when they're in the pillory and all you can see is their backside.

The trouble would be thinking up enough jokes.

Thinking about it, I might use the chain-and-book motif as a frame for some of the more wordy front tats

image.png

I wanted the chains to add a little nuance to "back to school, and the book with "R.R.R." written on it was originally to cover a bit of a mess where the chains didn't link up properly. But as a general framing device, I could do a lot worse.

logo.png

Like any good school: concentrating on the three "R"s :)

Now I want a flag blank.

[edit]

It seems to work as a frame for the front tats.

dancer2.png

Have to see how well the detail hold up with the smaller text. Shouldn't be a problem in this case.

How about:

labor2.png

For the "Laborer" caste? A little classier than "Punish Me".

Maybe I can squeeze a few more words in:

labor3.png

The self-righteous tone of the Raider Reform School is one of the things I like about the institution. Nice to hark back to it when we can.

Works for those "name" tats I was thinking about, as well:

names.png

Not sure the jokes entirely fit the somewhat po faced context of the chain-and-book frame. I might leave them out.

names2.png

Yeah, I think that works better. I like the fact that the chain is somewhat reminiscent of a funeral wreath as well. As if to say that the people these women were are now effectively dead to the world.

Found a flag blank:

Not sure I'm sold on the color scheme though. Will ponder.

This could work:

flag_red.png

The dark red and black has a sort of scholastic feel to it, but without being too antiseptic. I might go with this.

Flag in-game.

ScreenShot7.png

And I redid those tats with the chain-and-book border

I think it was worth the effort.

I had another look at the flag. Every time I looked at that last screenshot, it bothered me how flat i looked. Turns out, that's largely a product of the lighting I set up. I hung one in Red Rocket workshop and it's shadowed the way you'd expect.

That said, I also looked at some of the specular and normal maps for vanilla flags. The minutemen ones were generic and didn't depend on the image on the flag. So I used them for the flag. It brings out the grain a bit more and generally gives a better result.

ScreenShot190.png

Not that the flag's going to be what most people spend time looking at...

ScreenShot191.png

Damn. I just now noticed that missing section of catwalk above the flags.
