Darkening Demise Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 US Senate has voted 52-47 in favor of telling Ajit Pi and his FCC ruling of removing Net Neutrality to go fudge itself. Typical you cannot find much information about this from media outlet and news sites. Thankfully Techcrunch is there to report it and there are some Youtube livestreams I had to search hard to find (corporations love to hide the facts so we won't rise up). https://techcrunch.com/2018/05/16/senate-disapproves-fccs-net-neutrality-rollback-under-congressional-review-act/ Livestream https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoQNbv7gFDc
SirNibbles Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Finally some good news regarding this whole net neutrality stuff. I might not be American but I'm definitely against the removal of Net neutrality because of the possible consequences it could have on the internet traffic. Know that a lot of europeans and other countries are against pajit's plans, but unfortunately we can't do very much about it.
27X Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 The reason you're not hearing about this is it's meaningless until midterms. Remember after three years of his presidency was wasted on compromise attempts, all the times Obama rammed something down the republican's throat via Executive Order? Guess what's going to happen here with Trump.
joemonco Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Wow, that's incredibly optimistic of you. I have no hope for that party given their current attitude. Cheers, anyway!
joemonco Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 I don't think it's Wall Street lobbying for this. Alphabet (Google), Facebook, Amazon, and Netflix are all dropping big bribes just like AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2018/01/23/google-outspent-every-other-company-on-federal-lobbying-in-2017/ Any law that gets written will just end up being written by one of those Lobbyists just like the ACA and normal people will get the shaft without the courtesy of a reach-around.
