Apap Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Hello, can anyone tell me how do I replace the reference bodies in the already existing outfit mods, please? I've been playing around in Outfit Studio with a couple of armor mods and tried to make them a little bit more revealing here and there (moving around certain parts of the outfit and/ or removing them altogether). Now, the problem is that the default body that the outfit came with has some parts removed by the mod author, meaning that there are verticles missing in the body. When built and loaded to the game, these parts appear transparent. What I want to do is to replace the original incomplete body with a new one, so that the missing parts will be displayed in the game. I tried removing the original body nif from the outfit in Outfit Studio, import a standard CBBE nif, set it as reference and conform all the sliders, but for some reason BodySlide still displays the old incomplete body. I also tried saving it as a separate project with the new reference but it doesn't seem to work either. Would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through the proper process of fixing this. Thanks in advance!

This is the right method. When editing CBBE (Or Atomic Beauty, or Jane Bod, etc) outfits that have bodyslide capabilities, there are actually two versions of the outfit in your game install. One outfit is the actual version the game uses, and is located in your ..\Data\Meshes\somemod... folder. The other is the Bodyslide/Outfit Studio project reference and is located in ..\Data\Tools\BodySlide\ShapeData\somemod... folder The Bodyslide/Outfit Studio version is the one you want to edit, only it's not generally as easy (for what you want to do) as just simply opening the *.nif on the afore latter mentioned folder. You can certainly create a new project as @onesumgame mentions, import this *.nif to it, remove the CBBE ref body, add the default one, continue your edits and either save over the original project or save a new project. That will work 100%, no questions. Alternatively, you could open Outfit Studio and open the project for that specific outfit and make edits to it, then save over the existing project. This will yield the same result and be ultimately cleaner in BodySlide as you won't have a duplicate outfit reference to deal with when batch building your outfit sets. That all being said, if you would like some help with the project, shoot me a PM, I'd be happy to help with the edits, and or provide additional help.
Apap Posted May 15, 2018 Author Posted May 15, 2018 Creating a new project seems to have solved the issue - thanks a lot for the tip On another note, do you guys know how to reset the sliders in an imported nif to the default values? For example, if I import any nif from 2pac's set, the outfit comes with his own personal preset, which does not correspond to the default body shape you get when creating the new project. I'd like to make it fit the standard body so that I can see better what impact the changes I make will have on the end result. Needless to say, if the reference body has one preset and the outfit another, it's very difficult to predict what the edits will look like when done. Thanks!
