I just got a message from Mia, the author of Kewai-dou.

Mia doesn't want anyone to convert and share her meshes and she wants me to tell her will to anyone who has converted her meshes.

I've asked others to stop using SG hairs in making mods and my files will be taken down from Loverslab. I suggest you to do the same (or at least, exclude Mia's meshes from your hair back).

 

I might be rather new to this site, but isn't it, or at least, I thought it was. common knowledge that once you upload your files to the great 'net. You agree to have your files used by an audience, and at THEIR OWN discretion, to be modded shared to friends? I mean, correct me if I am wrong, but this is like saying you go to a "pot-luck" with your best dessert and refuse to let anybody taste it? that seems rather redundant in every sense to me. 

 

 

P.S. I just checked her site, and despite the mess, is it safe to say, who would want to use those mods? 

 

 

I agree with this, once it's public in anyway it's public. If you don't want sharing than don't share it at all. It'll eventually get out there if you do.

What do they do with it? They act as middlemen, selling it to Ad companies, who actually pay money for your contact info. The large amount of people that do give their info, will generate a huge list of potential customers, large enough that it's worth it to the ad companies. Sometimes they even re-sell it to other ad companies to also turn a buck, so the whole ordeal starts over again. So anytime a site says I HAVE TO have a account to download a damn file, I personally find it not worth the trouble. The sites that don't require an account to download a file, may have a few video ads off to the sides and wait time, but as long as you get your file without spam, it's fine. So, I'm with what everybody else here is saying: please re-upload your awesome files to a different site please :).

4shared is a scam. When they say FREE they really mean, "We will give you the file, for your contact info." What do they do with it? They act as middlemen, selling it to Ad companies, who actually pay money for your contact info. The large amount of people that do give their info, will generate a huge list of potential customers, large enough that it's worth it to the ad companies. Sometimes they even re-sell it to other ad companies to also turn a buck, so the whole ordeal starts over again. Jeez, that's a really narrow-minded statement. You sure about this? I mean, source please? It looks like you haven't researched anything about 4shared or even compared it with other download sites.

I worked at EA for four years. Contrary to very popular belief, Sims content creators do not own anything that has been run through an EA creation tool. They can own the pre-tool assets, but not anything that has been run through EA's content creation tool. So, by definition anything that is in the proper format for a Sims game is, at least legally, up for grabs. It belongs to EA and not the creator. EA's EULA is very clear on this. People would argue that this was not true forever. I spent lots of time trying to explain this to content creators who were claiming that someone stole their files and wanted EA to do something about it. They didn't understand because they did not want to. The content creation community has never accepted this truth, and I understand why, but it is the legal truth.

IGA Technology only logs information that is needed to measure presentation of advertising, and to serve advertising to the appropriate geographic region and to the right location within the game. Logged data may include Internet Protocol Address (.IP Address.), in game location, length of time an advertisement was visible, size of the advertisements, and angle of view. The IP Address is deleted when the online game session ends. Your game may be assigned an id number, which is stored on your PC or console, and used by IGA Technology to calculate the number of unique and repeat views of dynamic in game advertising. The id number is not associated with any personal data. No logged information is used to personally identify you. This ad serving technology is integrated into the game; if you do not want to use this technology, do not play the game while connected to the Internet. 2. Intellectual Property Rights and Ownership.

A. Reservation of Rights. You have purchased a limited license to the Software and your rights are limited to the license grant above and subject to this License. You are prohibited from making a copy of the Software available on a network where it could be used or downloaded by multiple users.
