aaron01211a Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Just a heads up, i don't even fuckin know enough about this stuff to tag this right for sure, sorry about that. Details i guess: Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler i accidentally made these spoilers and i dont know hot to get rid of them 3 2 2 2 2 This problem totally halts any attempt to play the game within an hour or so, causing me to start over again for it to only happen again. This has been a reoccurring thing in my game ever for as long as i can remember but never this bad. After simply walking a far enough distance in Skyrim and/or loading enough cells (only tested recently with small cells like taverns and Skyrim itself) i just end up crashing at the point the cell loads or while walking. Loading the game again afterward at the last save i made just makes the game crash again within the same timeframe and conditions. The only way to temporarily fix it that i find is uninstalling some of the memory-users among my mods, like hd texture packs but that only fixes it for a few minutes before the same thing happens. Just any help for pointing me towards figuring this out like just advice on how i could get more info on what the hell is going wrong would be great, thanks. edit: i posted this (without the spoilers) on the nexus forum and got no help so prove to me that loverslab is better and therefor dominates nexus forums like defeat makes my character get dominated
Guest Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 If the issue seems to solve (temporarly) by disabling texture mods, I'd say you have a CTD whenever Skyrim reaches your vram limit (by loading the textures you need to explore different cells). Do you use ENBoost/ENB? What are your graphic card specs?

GeForce GTX 960, shared system memory: 8149 MB, dedicated video memory: 2048 MB. I assume thats all the specs you need? but i will give you more just in case: https://i.gyazo.com/fc7a5dd1f0861fe4c27d78bd00f07d36.png
Guest Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 CTD is a close to desktop, so its just another way to say the game crashed. 2GB of video memory (dedicated) is a bit limited... So maybe that is the cause, you may be putting more stress on your system than it can handle. Check your memory usage with a tool (like this one https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6491) and see if you can reproduce the crashes when you're near the 2GB of video ram. If thats the case then I'd recommend you to uninstall texture replacers/enb presets (leaving only the ENBoost functionality) and test if your game is more stable.
Grey Cloud Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Crash To Desktop, surely? A load order would be useful. Do you use MO or NMM? Have you run LOOT? Have you done any reading or watched vids about modding Skyrim?
