Description

Have you ever noticed that there are dozens of race mods that add playable devils, demons, and other fiendish races but only a very small selection when it comes to celestial races. Personally I've only seen two and one of them also came with yet another devil race. Don't get me wrong I like a good devil as much as the next guy but I like to see a little more balance when it comes to the battle of good & evil. So I tried my hand at making a new celestial race.

 

This one is simply called the Celestial. It is based on the Radiant Glory from Heroes of might and Magic 6 as shown in my source picture. I just didn't want to call them that because I don't like the name, at least not for a race. I did name one of its powers that though. That said its powers are as follows: The ability to cast Light, Heal others on touch, & The ability to walk on water. Fairly simple powers but I thought very flavorful.

 

Installation

This mod has two esp files so read this carefully. Step one, extract the files into a separate folder. Step two, copy/move the data folder to your Oblivion folder. This will give you the playable race as well as two NPC trainers. Step three is optional and requires the CMpartners found here https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/7819/?tab=1&navtag=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Foblivion%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D7819%26preview%3D&pUp=1 . If you have CMpartners open the folder labeled "CMpartners ESP" and copy/move the ESP file into your Oblivion/Data folder. If you already have the base ESP installed this will over wright it. Once done this will give you all the same features as the base but also add two joinable NPCs.

 

Location

All NPCs are located in a chapel except one. The one exception is staying at an inn in the Imperial City's Temple district. Warning, None of the NPCs are essential.

I think there's an overwhelming amount of mods that are on the "eviler" side of the spectrum because there's much more options available to you when creating said race. For example:

 

Skin colors: Pale, White, Dark Tan, Red, Blue, Purple, Green, Scales, and etc. 

Head accessories: Horns, Spikes, unique ears, 

Eyes: Pretty much anything imaginable]

Back: Bat Wings, Dragon Wings, Spikes, 

Tail: Cliche Demon tail, Cat tail, wolf/fox tail(s), and so on.

Lower Body: Snake, Spider, Hooves, Wolf feet, and so on.

 

Not to mention that these types of races can get away with being seductive and commit taboos, unlike the opposite side of the spectrum where that would be a "sin". (Unless you were representing Dibella or something, in which case you probably could get away with dressing skimpy and doing uncivilized things.)

 

There's just so many options for a demon-like race, Where as on the other hand with Angelic races, the most you can really do is give them spectral tattoos and glowing eyes... and maybe you can tape some wings on the back of them and superglue a halo-on-a-stick upon their head

Yeah, figuring out how to make the Aedra in my MG Blockhead Edition "distinct" is a bit difficult. You have to be creative with it, like giving Aedra to Akatosh a specific shader, while Arkay might have something different. Physical changes are hard without creating entirely new bodies or something.

Somehow I missed that anyone made comments on this until now. But yes I realize that the demons have more obvious options for creation I even struggled a little with it when I made this. Most the well know celestial races are boring to look at where as even the most simple fiend is dripping with creativity. So it took a while to find one I wanted to do. But there are actually plenty of interesting celestials they are just more obscure. and I have seen some pretty creative angel designs. But my own skills for what I can make as a mod are slightly limited, so I went with my favorite that was within my skill set.

 

As far as the fiends allowing for more lecherous activity I disagree. Not every religion/mythology considers sex to be taboo and some even celebrate it. Though the fiends would allow the darker stuff. I'm not sure of the position of the 9 Divines though. I'm a little lacking in the lore; is it ever covered? But either way I was talking about all mods when I uploaded this, not just adult ones. Though the two celestial race mods I mentioned in the description were adult mods, interestingly enough.

as far as i can tell, for the divines:

 

there's Mara; The mother, the lover, (the fertility goddess?)

 

and Dibella; goddess of beauty and love, maybe including art and eroticism

 

but, from what I understand, the aedra and daedra may be the same type of being, the aedra sacrificed their bodies and most of their power to create and watch over the world as we know it,

 

while the daedra kept their bodies but were sent to oblivion, and not really allowed much on this world, which made most  of them a bit sour and they tend to treat us like other peoples toys, that is to say, tend to be rough and break us,because off that... which we tend to consider evil.

 

so the deadra have some  connection to sex are as follows:

 

Mephala  lies, sex, murder, secrets, and plots; she enjoys seducing and interfering in mortal affairs for her own amusement

 

Sanguine debauchery such as lust, sin, sloth, gluttony, and greed.

 

Hermaeus Mora collector of porno mags

 

Namira probably into humiliation

 

Vaermina wet dreams

 

Sheogorath I don't even want to know
