Guide is out of date as well, as it states you need to add the mcm stuff to the base game directory, mo2 no longer needs that to be done.

Guide is on how to create linked folder in appdata and this is the key to use mo2. If you're not able to do this you're probably a nmm user

Swiftstep Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 I hope it's okay if I take the chance and aks a question on a similar manner: -> I got MO2 up and running, INI tweaks with ENB and all, but apparently only the ESP / ESM files are being loaed, not the meshes and textures. -> when I start a game via "alternate start", most of the meshes are missing, many objects are in purple e.g. -> the ingame "mod manager" has all mods checked on / activated What did I miss? The MO2 installation itself was old, had it up and running about 10 months ago or so (was testing "flower girls"). Thanks in advance for your input.

Give this a try it may sort things out, go down the left pane de-activating and then re-activating each mod one by one. Also which version of mo2 are you using? As you have done the ini edits I guess that you have [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 in the skyrim.ini or in the SkyrimCustom.ini, though for me adding things to the custom ini has no affect at all on the game, though others have had them work, no idea why though.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I must confess that I got really mad about this, so I uninstalled MO2 and switched to NMM. The shame, the shame! Anyway, I was using the MO2 version from the nexus. If there are updates to MO2 somewhere that are not listed on the nexus, I did not install them. As for the edit entries: I used the mod "BETHini" to generate the two files. Fortunately the mod keeps track of its changes and I can confirm you, that this line was not built into the ini files. Meaning I did not add it, plus the mod didn't add it either. The part with reativation mod by mod: it did that in the ingame menu, and it had no effect. But, before we further continue this, I guess I made it pointless to go deeper into the matter at hand. I guess the old MO2 version on my PC made the whole project not working, simply because the game itself was changed dramatically, and the sludge from the old MO2 was still around, because of my botched installation. Phew. Nevertheless, thank you very much for your effort.

Ahh, beth.ini that is one program that I never got to work with skryim and mo, even on the le version of skyrim and with mo1, let beth ini do its thing setting the mo paths and such, instant ctd on game start every time, not too sure what the hell it does but it seriously messed up the ini files when I had a look at them in notepad. So it could have been messed up ini files from bethini doing things. Oh well never mind, as long as you have a mod manager you can use, that is all you really need.

I think BETHini should not be run from MO. I ran it outside of MO, and it did the adding strings and enabled multiple master loads for, and I was able to use the CK accordingly.

Yup that is what I did as well, especially as bethini complains if you run it though mo, ran it the way they said pointed it to the mo profile for the game I was playing, let it do its thing, start game on that profile instant ctd, never even gets to the loading screen, revert back to original ini loads just fine, not to sure what is wrong with it for me but I just gave up on it. Now I just keep a text file in my skyrim mod down load folder with all the ini edits I need to do for all of the ini files for the game.
