Stock shot of what the HMM 1/72 Red Blade Liger should look like when it's finished.

So we're all dorks here, some of us more than others. I've had this kit sitting around for years, and I've finally gotten around to slowly building it. This is my current progress;

Ah, the days of kit modeling. Built sooo many cars, tanks, and other crap. Last one I built took me 5 months to complete (about 33 years ago). The Cutty Sark:

Real cloth sails to furl and tie, a lot of pulleys and lanyards to string. Even 'weathered' the entire thing, including a waterline and made tiny groups of barnacles with model putty.

I wish I had pictures of it, to show off how.....extensive the project became.

Good luck with your Liger, and remember; Patience.....:classic_tongue:

A neat feature of the HMM line is that they give you a Zoid core to put into the model. In the fiction, the core is the very heart of the Zoid, so not having it would be silly. Of course, since it slots into the body, you barely ever see it unless you go out of your way to pull it out... or leave it out.

Some of the smallest parts in the kit. Cell phone battery and my plastic snips for scale. These are both murder on my hands and my nerves because I have giant, stupid man hands.

The back portion of the body underway. it was a true pain to get the orange bits in there. My hands ached.

The A1, G1 and S frames are nearly empty. To put it into perspective, the frames go up to Y, plus there's stuff like A1 and A2, multiple B frames, multiple D frames and the like. Plus multiple soft plastic PC frames.

The backside is grumpy. But so would you if you were a literal ass.

All that's left are the legs and final assembly.

FINAL UPDATE;

So you may notice the times between the last update and this one. You may also notice that I did several models in between them. That's because the fun of the red Blade Liger was drained with the legs.

This is just one page of legs. There were many. The legs added a good, oh, ten more hours because I was dragging my ass while not having fun. As my mood went sour, I took fewer images.

Each toe is its own thing that had to be put together with three parts. There are sixteen toes. The toes on each end needed to have specific angled parts and had to be on a specific end. This was a good, oh, two hours right there.

These are the front legs. Notice the springs. They do literally nothing. They're just detail. A pain in the ass detail that took me about, oh, twenty minutes per spring. There are eight springs, two per leg.

I hate these. Also the pictures start to get blurry. I was tired. I stopped caring. I was in a mood. I apologize in advance.

And so it's done. It was fun up until the legs, which were just... draining...

Total time: at least 40 hours because of the legs.
