Help...EA just updated Sims 4...now NO mods works...including WickedWhims!

Turbo sent out a message earlier saying that Wickedwhims is working for the new patch at present and has reassured that the coming update to the patch will break things but he's prepared and ready to have an update before it does,

If you have any other script mods in your folder I'd Google them as they may have updates ready or pending

Why EA does this is obvious, to stop creative mods taking over. To me that's a case of narrow minds who won't allow masterpieces on this site being used.

It's like the empire and first order against the rebels!:classic_angry:

Ummmm, it is obvious, but that's not the reason. EA updates the game to add new (paid) content, patches, bug fixes and smaller changes. EA is not a good company by any stretch of the imagination, but this conspiracy shit needs to end already. If they really wanted to end modding they would do it by disabling custom package loading, or if they want to kill only complex mods, script loading. Since they are doing neither of those, you can take the tin foil off your head.

Can confirm, all (including WW) is working fine after this mornings patch. Odd that after the update my mods and scripts where still activated, maybe since I removed the mods folder before updating.

Good to know,  I went to offline mode and didn't update yet.

I am more concerned about why my LL profile has Suddenly switched back to my original Pre Forum Update profile that I thought was gone for good (Was unable to log in successfully after Forum Update).  This is really starting to mess with my tenuous hold on reality.  Nothing to do with Sims 4 though so I will just continue to wonder.

Well, if the upcoming game expansion is going to modify clothing in any way that means there's going to be a lot of CAS cc with issues. There are going to be moodlets attached to clothing, so if you wear clothes for too long without having them washed you'll stink. I'm assuming that means all CAS CC clothing is going to have to be updated in order to work with the new content. Which probably means we'll lose some items after all the fixes and patching is done.

That'll be a nightmare, since all my clothing is custom :((((

Same, I'll just hold off updating on the 15th when they release it and see it how it goes for other people.

Yeah, well, America voted for Trump, at least the majority of the 40% that did actually vote... well, the technical majority, he actually lost if the rest of the votes were tallied. I digress, the point is that most people are stupid and when you let idiots make decisions they make idiotic ones. I'm not cynical, I'm just far too jaded to have many delusions about the world. Also, there's a sociological hypothesis, that the collective intelligence of a group of individuals is the median of the collective. While the collective intelligence of humanity rises, it's not evident or true in every part of the world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8fm3Z7jgWM XD So yeah, it's better to think it's funny because the reality is depressing. :bawling:

where did you read that with the moodlets attached to clothing?

Well, I don't know for sure. It might just be a timer thing attached to characters so that wouldn't affect clothing directly. However, if they attach the timer for clothing needing a wash to the clothing, then that could cause issues. It's an update on clothing and washing so, I don't know. I'm looking at worst case scenario, so if it's not the case then I'll be pleasantly surprised, but if they do fudge stuff then at least I saw it coming. You should probably ignore my doomsday foreshadowing, I have clinical depression, I tend to see doom and gloom everywhere. *shrug*

ok I was just curious if I missed something because so far I never saw something like that mentioned but even if it adds moodlets to clothing, which isn't something new because the animal hats also had clothes specific moodlets, same goes for the tragic clown outfit, even then I wouldn't think CC clothing will break they'll be always clean I'd think but I guess the livestream will give us the answer

You never know with how things are all interconnected in this game. CAS CC needed updating for the pet content. Files are daisy-chained to where changing one thing can somehow mess up a seemingly unrelated thing. :S

I have to agree.

I had no problems with my mods (knock on wood). I have Wicked Whims and Mc Command Center and way too much CC content which I am going to probably have to get rid of all the CC Content as a worst case scenario. So far so good

I had this game for a year now ive finally updated it and downloaded the wicked whims file and multiple others only a few works not including wicked whims. When I looked at the versions that are compatible it says versions 1.37 and I have 1.38.49.1020 . I don't understand. Help.

As too_funky said, Sims 4 Studio will usually release a batch fix for these types of things if it breaks a bunch of CC. Scripted mod authors are typically pretty good about updating after a content patch as well. No need to fear the mod apocalypse.
