HotShotV12 Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I get a CTD as I'm walking down the passage way from Windhelm's farm to Windhelm's doors. I don't get any error, and my game doesn't CTD anywhere else. I have fast traveled to all of the other holds and have had no problem. Its in the same spot every time. In spoiler is my load order. It cannot be running out of memory. I use Crashfixes, SSME, and ENBoost with 15874 MB allocated into VideoMemorySizeMb in my ENBLOCAL.ini (is the value i got from DX9 VRAM test). Please look over my load order and tell me if there is anything that needs to be fixed that is causing this problem just at Windhelm. attached is a pic of where it CTDs. Like if I were to take 2 more steps it would CTD. Always in that very same spot.
Guest Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 did you run Load Order Optimilisation Tool? that can greatly help with sorting out the order and might prevent some cases of CTD Â otherwise I would suggest looking into the mods and see which one you suspect of causing it. disable it and try again.
Chewbcca69 Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 go to area near windhelm but dont to close to windhelm like snow veil sanctum or else then try command fw 81a or sw 81a or sw 15e it makes the weather clear afaik... then travel to windhelm if its not crash then its your weather mod causing it
MadMansGun Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 it could be a deleted world object. https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=TES5Edit_Mod_Cleaning_Tutorial http://wiki.step-project.com/TES5Edit/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Instructions  or a fuckload of other things.
t.ara Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 that sort of crd is exactly caused by a NIF-file that is part of a mod in that area. In other words: you have a mod with a defect content. As soon your view goes over that object, the game crashes. Sollution: SWITCH off the mods that change the landscape there and have the exactly same way with the exactly cam-view again. Lot of mods contain such files and do work, as long it is not detected by players/ as long the player-cam does not  focus on that content exactly.  Load order is here an enological reason for a CTD, I can´t imagine that this is the problem... (my description is only pointing to mods who have NEW or CHANGED content inside), like "new trees", "new plants", "new meshes", "new objects",....)...(excuse for errors, they are caused by a crappy auto-correction)
Kaarinah Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I know that cleaning 2 or 3 of the DLCs (don't remember right now which ones) caused me to get CTDs in specific places. Windhelm was not one of those, but I don't think I got to Windhelm before figuring out why I crashed and leaving them untourched.

I do use LOOT yes. I also use Wrye Bash and it says there is no conflicts.. idk what else to do..

Not a step before or a step afterwards. In the spot a few steps ahead of where i am in the pic.

Don't have any dirty mods either. I make sure to clean all the mods i can.

But where do I even begin?...
t.ara Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Landscape/trees...new farmhouses?....street-signs new?....something like that...weather mods I´d exclude...and at least I can tell you, that even there are errors inside of the vanilla game...my follower is not following me into the whiterun city and keeps standing on the street way hill up (navmesh is absolutely fine there)...some things will stay STRANGE...glitch-holes, lost follower(s) and stuff like that is normal. I suggest to switch off city-mod(s)...if something like that is happening...an auto detection or a mod clean-up can solve such errors, if stuff is "dirty", but after such a clean, you have to manually find the problem...  another example: with one error inside a clothing-file, the whole AIM-menu is freezing and the game crashes (freezing)...so ONE error of a CALLED file (that is loaded into the ram suddenly) will damage the entire game.  But I´m sure you will find it out...;-)

The only problem is I've always used these textures and i've never encountered this error before.. here is a picture of my landscape textures.
Xiderpunk Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Just a couple of things, this issue was posted on the SSE forum when it's about oldrim. That aside, CTD's are often caused by model files (nif's) as already stated. Given the mods you have installed there are quite a few candidates, because it is clearly a repeatable issue you will need to disable them to narrow it down. I am afraid it will be a painful search and eventually you will discover which mod is the cause. The fact that is occurring at the same exact spot points towards a multibound object coming into view. Sign's? Markers? Lamp-post?

Xiderpunk Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Thing is, the skyrim engine is looking to draw things that it expects to come into view (the multibound system), therefore it could be something down on the dock area at windhelm. Or an npc. Also question each mod and ask yourself if you installed it recently.. that might narrow the search.

Its when my character gets close to that specific area. Also upon starting a new game i get a thing from DynDoLod in the left hand corner saying 'dyndolod missing cell id 0' when walking up to that part outside windhelm, then a message saying 'dyndolod successfully initialized'. How do i fix this? Could this be the problem? I don't get that message anywhere else.
Xiderpunk Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Dyndolod definitely would be suspicious as it adds a great many models for distant objects, and 90% probability that a model issue is the cause of your CTD. Maybe try disabling it completely from both your load order and installation and see if the problem still exists.

I can't figure out how to fix the error im getting from dyndolod and im almost positive thats the issue thats causing the ctd. Ive searched all over for an answer couldnt find one. So this was the last thing i could do.
