TheRealMissAmber Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Okay I did as the fist post said so please forgive me if i am out of line for making this thread to the LL staff. Here is my issue. I have OBSE v21 And CSE v8.0 Now I can get to load properly on my windows 7 x32 laptop However When I try the same exact setup on my windows 7 x64 desktop CSE will not load. It just loads the standard CS. I have done a lot of searching and have tried adding -editor -no timeout at the the end of the file path of the shortcut. I have tried enabling administrator approval in OBSE and CSE shortcut. I have tried different screen resolutions. Rolling back CSE to all the earlier versions. Launching with the .BAT file Launching with OBSE directly At first I kept getting VCRUNTIME_140.DLL missing even though I had VC 2008 - 2017 installed turns out I had to get the x32 versions and install them too. Then I kept getting d3dx9_43.DLL missing. So I had to get the x32 version of directx and that fixed that problem. So not I get no errors but it just keeps loading the normal CS and that won't work for the mods I need to edit as they use OBSE scripting and as you well know will not compile without CSE. I have one last theory but I don't want to do it unless someone here tells me this is my problem. My oblivion install directory is C:/program files (x86)/Bethesda softworks On my lappy because it is x32 it is just C:/ program files/Bethesda softworks Is my that my issue? Moving the root folder is the only thing I have not tried yet. Thank you in advanced for your help. -Amber
gregathit Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Yes, oblivion should not be installed in the programs file. Besides having issues with the CSE, you will have problems with mods as well. Recommend moving it and then seeing if that doesn't clear things up.
fejeena Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Yes the C:/program files (x86)/ ( Thought you have read my yellow Link ? ) -------------------- Do you have the obse_loader.exe ? You must have it even if you use a steam Oblivion version. Create a desktop shortcut of the obse_loader.exe and change the path. ( Read my yellow Link) You must start CSE with that desktop shortcut. ------------------------------------------------------ And do you really have all the requirements for CSE v8.0 ? There are a lot. I still use CSE 51. It does all I need. ------------------- Also your Anti virus program can cause problems. I had to set my Oblivion folder ( Bethesda softworks ) to the "ignore list", or I can not start my CSE.
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 I do not run an anti virus I don't need one. Yes I have all the requirements Yes I have OBSE_loader.exe shortcut. I can not stand steam eg I do not use it. I should have mentioned that. I will try moving my Bethesda Softworks to Program files then remake the shortcut and see if that works. Thank you for the advice. I will update soon to confirm.
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 Okay fuck program files all together. Il move it out of there. Sorry I misread.
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 Okay so that didn't work either. I'm getting a little frustrated with it. I moved Bethesda softworks folder out of program files (x86) where it would not work. To C:/Program Files just to see what would happen. Remade the shortcut. Same issue. Then moved it out to C:/ and remade the shortcut. And it's still the same problem. A few frustrated grunts later I went to my lap top and removed CSE and OBSE completely and for fun unpacked the rar and reinstalled them and it worked perfectly with no extra steps. I double checked and they are indeed OBSE 21 and CSE v8.0 Now why would they work so well on a crappy little x32 HP lappy But not on an ASUS p6t7 WS x64 desktop? Mother of God. All about disappointment today!
fejeena Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Try CSE 51 requirements version 51 : OBSE20 or higher and .NET Framework CSE Version 63 and higher needs Oblivion Script Extender 21 Beta+, .NET Framework 4.0+, Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redist., DirectX 9.0c Runtime. Install CSE51 1. Extract this archive to any folder and then copy the contents to Oblivion's folder. 2. create a OBSEloder.exe shortcut and rename the path. \Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" -Editor -oldinject ( After the " must be a space then -Editor , again a space then -oldinject ) 3. Start CS with the new shortcut. ----------------- Sure you don't have a anti virus program? Your comp is unprotected?
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Yep 100% unprotected because I test everything on my lappy before I move it to my desktop. I don't have my desk connected to the interwebs. Never have never will. I scan everything I DL with malware bytes first to make sure it's not dirty. My lappy does have Avira but it have to disable it from time to time. Okay I did have space -editor -no timeout. Same deal I have Windows 7 SP1 VC++ 2008 - 2017 x86 and x64 .Net framework 4.5 Direct 9 upgraded to DX 10 I'm starting to think it's the .net framework becuase everything else is the exact same except .NET My lappy has .Net Framework 4 client profile .Net Framework 4 extended My desk has .Net Framework 4.5 I'm starting to think this is the problem. But before I even do that I need to get that darn SI DLC we have been taking about Fejeena. Complication after complication after complication. FML! So tempted to while my desk HDD and mirror my lappy HDD and run that because I have had 0 of these issues with it. Only my lappy has very cruddy gaming graphics, single core 1.5ghz CPU and 2gb ddr2. My desk has Nvidia 9800gt, AMD 4.0 x4 core (over clocked) and 8gb ddr3. (Lowered from 12gb) So I need to be using my desk for obvious reasons
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Yeah I never put the -editor in the " " because then it would direct the shortcut to a file that does not exist. Let my try adding -oldinject.
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 I hope this helps. Maybe you can see something that I don't. Spoiler
samhain6 Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 1 hour ago, TheRealMissAmber said: I hope this helps. Maybe you can see something that I don't. Reveal hidden contents You're missing Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redist (x86): https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 Okay here's the thing every time I use VC++ 2017 installer it removes VC++ 2015. Let me roll that back and see if it clears. Btw I noticed I was in the program files folder. Until I get this resolved I have Oblivion installed in C:/ C:/ program files C:/ program files (x86) I just remake the shortcut every time I test each one. Let me rollback to VC++ 2015 and test each one again. Thanks
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 :( okay I give. Il try CSE51 again
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 Okay yeah just like I remember. CSE didn't come with the CSE.BAT. I did remember that. So I had to launch it with OBSE_launcher shortcut. I set it up exactly they way you are supposed to. The same damn thing. I give up. At leat I still have CSE working on my laptop so I should just be happy I have that. Idk what else I could possibly try . my PC simply does not like CSE.
fejeena Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 No you start the CSE with the obse_loader.exe I also have Win7 and CSE51 I have only Construction Set v1.2 installed ( not v1.0 ) http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/The_Elder_Scrolls_Construction_Set VC++ 2010, 2012 and 2015 x86 and x64 Net framework 4.7 Oblivion needs old DirectX files. Since Win7 ,or higher, they are no longer in the standard installation. You must install "DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)"https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 OBSE21 !!! All files installed, also the obse_loader.exe obse_loader.exe shortcut with path: "E:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" -Editor -oldinject Please try CSE 51
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 That's exactly what I said! Okay let me see about getting DX end-user runtime and framework 4.7. I'm still down to try new stuff but as far as ideas go I'm empty. Keep throwing them at me I will keep trying. Watch it be something stupid like my time and date. I need to change that
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 OBSE21 obse_1_2_416.dll obse_editor_1_2.dll obse_loader.exe obse_steam_loader.dll That's what I meant sorry. It's been a long day.
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 This is so bad. I went to school for PC repair. Nothing I even went into CMD and enabled the windows 7 built in administrator account set everything up and still the same thing. Funny thing I notice is when I right click and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR the CMD will flash and tell me it can not find the path specified This happens on CSE51 OBSE shortcut. And CSE8 using the BAT left as is. But if I change it to -oldinject CS will launce but it's the normal version. It that not strange? I do have CS 1.2.416 by the way. I looked the the version of ConstructionSetOld and that one is 1.0 I don't even have the OBSE_launcher1.0.dll I just have the OBSE_launcher1.2.dll So I should be fine. I'm still messing with net framework and ditectx it's a matter of time I hope
fejeena Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 OBSE_launcher1.0.dll ???? I don't have it, also no OBSE_launcher1.2.dll I don't have such files in my game folders !!!! And i don't have CS 1.2.416 ---------------------------------------------------------- OBSE21 obse_1_2_416.dll obse_editor_1_2.dll obse_loader.exe obse_steam_loader.dll All in your Oblivion folder / not data folder ! And the data\OBSE\ folder with the obse.ini You must have all files except of the obse_steam_loader.dll ...................... CS you need v1.2 N OT 1.0 !!!!!( Only if you have voice actors and create voice files you install CS 1.0 for Lip sync tool. So do not install CS1.0 !!!! ) This http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/The_Elder_Scrolls_Construction_Set And the CS is 1.2.0.404 !!!! ---------------------- And with CSE51 you install Data\OBSE\Plugins\Construction Set Extender.dll Data\OBSE\Plugins\Construction Set Extender.ini Data\OBSE\Plugins\ComponentDLLs\CSE ( many dll files) And in the Oblivion folder DevComponents.DotNetBar2.dll GlobalInputMonitor.dll lame.exe From the CSE 51 readme 1. Extract this archive to any folder and then copy the contents to Oblivion's folder. Since CSE is an OBSE plugin, the CS must be run through the OBSE loader. All other steps you ignore because you don't install CS1.0 !!! The you create a desktop shortcut of the obse_loader.exe ( not launcher , not a dll ). Then you right click the desktop shortcut and change the path to ...\obse_loader.exe" -Editor -oldinject
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 I'm so over this. I typed the names wrong and I look like a complete idiot. In the end I just wanted to get it finished just in case anyone else had the same problem. But now I throw my fucking hands up. I mean seriously. I typed the names wrong in my last message I have not had enough sleep. Yes I did that ALL OF IT. there is no logical reason why it should not be working but it's not and I don't feel like getting yelled at any more. Thank you for your efforts to help me but I simply don't have the patience for it any more. So if an Adm n would like to delete this thread feel free plz. I'm done with it

I'm done with it I could never get the thing to fire-up properly, either. Win 7 etc... Some computers....I suppose....
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 Okay so check this shit out. I did a no-no. I took the HDD out of my lappy and put it on my ASUS and tried CSE. Worked perfect. That mistake cost me OME OS.... My laptop keeps telling me my windows is not genuine. I thought that may happen but I have come to the conclusion that win7 home premium x64 may have a problem with CSE. I don't know what else it could be
fejeena Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, OEM Since many years with a "normal" HDD and since about 1 year with a SSD ( the SSD only for Windows ) So some new Win installations and Oblivion and CS still works fine.
TheRealMissAmber Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 Maybe I have a messed up registry key?
