The Sims 4 Official Pack Discussion (Old & New)

With the launch of Cats & Dogs and the wide selection of packs available, I think it would be worthwhile to have a general discussion topic for released and upcoming packs for The Sims 4. Here we can discuss what our thoughts are on any pack, be it just announced or already released. Or our own personal recommendations if you are looking for DLC to purchase.

 

I'll get the conversation going, the launch trailer for Cats & Dogs was just released. Will you be getting it?

 

I don't think I will. I've never been one to like the Pet EP's. Plus there's just so much missing.

Christmas is just next month. If Origin has another sale in which all of the expansions and game packs are 50-80% off like they did last year (in which I bought a copy of The Sims 4 in the first place), then I might well do so with this one.

I guess some of us wouldn t buy this in cause of the pets but because it seems to be a nice world with many furnitures, deco ect. pp

 

I never liked this S3 Jumanji like stray animals everywhere and used a handful of animals for some of my households in a little CC world. This S4 period (I go back to S3 and OKW roundabout 1/2018) no need for Cats and Dogs. I d better wait for some well done long and wavy furs... and other CC from the S4 creators.

I love pets both in real life and in the Sims but yeah, I'm mostly excited for the whole new world that comes with the expansion. I really would prefer a new expansion that expands and enhances the base gameplay like Get Together or Get to Work, rather than pets at this point. But still, it'll be nice to have my best friend in game with me. Along with other super cute animals.

There's just not enough content in the new Expansion Pack (a frustrating theme that seems to be staying in regards to EP's). The gameplay from the previous pets expansions was at least new and interesting in every iteration. The only packs I don't have are the two most recent stuff packs and now Cats & Dogs. I regret getting a lot of the packs, but I gotta admit it's nice to have a nice variety of CAS and Build Items without completely resorting to CC. If I ever get C&D it'll be solely because of those two things alone, I don't really care about the pets.

 

Oh yeah, and I never pay full price for any of the packs. Especially the expansion & stuff packs. They're very over-priced for what you get.

Funny story:

 

I was at the Humor and Hijinks Festival in the city. I noticed a guy hugging something lovingly. It's probably a really cute animal I thought. I was so excited to see my first super cute animal in-game, so excitedly I zoomed in and it turned out the guy was hugging a voodoo doll.

but a voodoo doll? perhaps standing for the person he loved?
