Does anyone know of a mod that removes all vanilla classes, enabling better gameplay with just a class mod?

Wouldnt be too hard to do yourself.

Go into the info file for each Hero and change the card number and chance to 0.

Just finished my monster mod, spend all night on it.
Right now i don't have time, nor strength to even test it, so I rely on your help, fellow degenerates and other not indifferent loverslab users.

In a week or so i will try to fix problems within.
And probably will work on version for crimson court and color of madness.

Assets used:
HALF OF FUCKING NEXUS
HALF OF FUCKING STEAM WORKSHOP
Elzikyuchi's Dick Templates.

Much love, Xalva.

Hmm... Deovolente's classes are rather overpowered, huh? I just traipsed through the Apprentice Siren expedition with a party of level 1 Scourge, Lilith, Ancient One, and Mesmer on zero torchlight and came out without a scratch. Even two-rounded the Shambler on the way there and got plenty of Scouts due to their unique quirk bonuses despite the darkness.

Does anyone know if they even out later or is using them just going to make the game effortless without a self-imposed challenge?

...Well, I don't have a TON of experience...

Lilith throws marks like crazy, but her unique traits fall off in higher-level dungeons due to them not leveling up.

Dracoblood would be a lot more fucking balanced if all her trinkets weren't free, including her CC ones, giving her passive health regen. I... think she's okay without that stupid? ...And, again, trinkets don't level up, so she wrecks early on but falls off later.

Scourge is stupid. Nonsense. So much firepower for such little cost. Real Earth Enchanter hours.

Haven't played with the Ancient One or Mesmer classes, I don't think, but judging by the track record, the safe bet is...

Still, could be worse. They could be Abigail.

Yep, I've been giving Abigail a whirl too and she just does too much as well... Priest form kept the party going through foodless hunger penalties, Witch form threw stuns and insane DoT damage like candy... a rebalance of these characters probably needs to strip away some of their extra effects, when the numbers alone are already pushing OP territory. Being too powerful for the game really bites because I really like all of these characters!

Compounding the problem is that a bunch of these characters are designed to build up stacks of a buff to enable some kind of superpower form, and much like how Jester's Finale got beat by the nerfbat ages ago these are even harder to balance...

Livia class, on the other hand, lacks any of these fancy mechanics and it seems like they might have tried to make her more balanced, but double-dipped a little too much by giving her less effective skills that are also rather limited in where she or her targets can be positioned? Unless there's something more complex to her kit that isn't immediately obvious.

Wrong Abigail, I think. I'm talking about the Metal Slug reference character, who turn one runs over the entire enemy party with a tank (which also marks them because lul) then milks herself to heal the rest of her party for big numbers every turn without fail.

ONE secondary healer, which can even be the Flagellant due to how heals over time work, and your entire party is un-fucking-killable. Add in a stresshealer and someone for flavor (Which can be anyone, Abigail likes ranks 2/3, so she can be frontline or backline) and you've got a team that just... fucks.

She's supposed to be a glass cannon, as all her abilities either apply heavy bleed/blight to herself or debuff her stats into the ground, but the Tank and Milking are the latter, and with just one secondary healer... plus if your Flavor or Stresshealer can Guard, then she just stops having downsides.

Question to modders here...

I want to try and change some of the "barks" (those little speech bubbles that pop up randomly) that the heroes and caretaker says either in town or during quests to make them more lewd.

Im pretty sure we can change them, but where is the file or files located at?

dialogue.string_table in the Localization folder

Do these mods work with the new "black reliquary" game?

Generally speaking... no.

Black Reliquary shares an engine with Darkest Dungeon, but practically nothing was carried over as-is. Even the vanilla heroes have tweaks to their gameplay or outright new moves and artwork to match.

Brand-new classes 'should' be okay... AS LONG AS THEY HAVE RIPOSTE. The Man-At-Arm's useless Command ability now gives Riposte to the targeted hero, so obviously every hero needs to be able to riposte to not CtD.

Off the top of my head, there are a couple of mods for Black Reliquary, those being Xelsword's skins which got ported and a mod that restores the old, uncensored sprites for some of the enemies that got changed from the betas. Mostly the Wildlanders.

The former lives here. Ignore the one on the nexus, I haven't the faintest why they think it'll work.

307906541_BlackReliquaryXelswordSkins.rar

The latter lives on the nexus and Steam I think.

Okay, so text modding is out of my wheelhouse, I can't do it, but I understand the theory behind it.

All text in the game, yes all of it, is stored in the Localization folder. In there is .loc2 files for every language, and .xml files for every type of text, plus some misc files.

You need to make changes to the XML files, then run localization.bat to compile the XML files into the loc2 files. It's clunky, annoying, and overwrites base game files... so I HATE IT and can't do it.

All barks are in the 'dialogue.xml' file, so target that and good fucking luck.

Thx for your detailed reply @Fasterflight225!

Reading up on the game, the balance looks to be all over the place and there doesnt seem to be a trainer for it (nor a dedicated modding thread on LL).

I think i will leave it be for now and see how things work out.

Ah, I see. I was talking about the FGO Abigail Deovolente's been developing with w_s_l's art. While she doesn't get two actions in one turn, her priest form's main abilities include a stress heal + regen combo and an AoE attack that applies a debuff that has a high chance to stun an enemy when they attack no matter how high their stun resist is, and her witch form has strong single-target attacks but is also able to attack all enemies and apply a debuff on them that doubles their next tick of DoT damage, while also having a 55% + 5% per level chance of applying Stun, Bleed, and Blight and Shuffle to each enemy, so on average even at level 1 you'll stun half the enemy team with it each time and make short work of even the tankiest foes with any DoT class in tow, and she heals herself a small amount every time she kills an enemy, and she has Very Rare trinkets that grant the party heals or buffs every two times she doesn't kill an enemy.

She's also building up her Noble Phantasm meter this whole time, which allows her to use her ultimate skill to move herself to the enemy team and become intangible, where she starts slapping the enemy team for various types of pain twice a turn and granting your party effects like extra actions, effectively an automatic win.

She's very similar to Ancient One in design, who uses turn 1 to either attack one enemy and enter attack stance, AoE the enemy and regen the party and enter healer stance, or stay in base stance and use a Stun or a 1/battle AoE attack that heavily debuffs all enemies' PROT and stun resistance (!!), and from there can dish out a heavy hit in attack stance while absorbing HP, max HP, and dodge, or heal, destress, and further regen the party in healer stance, while eventually generating enough charge level to use her own ultimate.

Whereas party composition in DD generally follows a specialist approach where each class is designed to be really good at one or two specific things, these characters do so many things and are very good at all of them, which I think is gonna be hell to balance. Reducing the abilities' potency or reliability would then make it hard to justify bringing them for that specialism so I think mod classes just shouldn't do so many things.

Does anyone have the mods Devolente has released that are not on steam?
I really like the classes they make but I get the other classes and was hoping someone else had the files for it.

How do I fix this error I keep getting it and I dont know what is causing it

A mod has added a quirk called 'Raunchy' but has NOT added its buff.

Disable all your mods and start a new game to see if it goes away. If it does, re-enable class mods one by one to isolate the problem.

If it doesn't, you manually installed something that was either broken or you broke by accident. Check DarkestDungeon\shared\quirk for modded quirk libraries that shouldn't be there.

I am testing atm to see which mod is broken thanks for the help!

Ok I found the quirk how would I fix it?
Should I just remove it or change it?

Also, If anyone has the fix/investigate file mentioned in that link, could you share it? or point to it?

Thx dude!  Found the fix on Dan's page now that I know what I'm looking for.  It's in part III, just ctrl+f Shiva

If you want to keep the mod and the quirk is still used, check the mod's buffs file in DarkestDungeon/shared/buffs. If it doesn't exist, you have bigger problems, but it should both exist and have an entry that SHOULD be QUIRK_raunchy_B but isn't. Typos happen.

...Again, if it exists. If it doesn't, you'll need to get it from a fresh download of the mod.
