DCLXVI Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 i wanted to know if there are any groups or cults within the elder scrolls lore that have dedicated themselves to the protection and preservation of wildlife. i have tried searching on uesp but was unsuccessful.
ppp Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 I don't know of any off-hand, but it would not surprise me if there was a cult of kyne/kynareth that did so. They would be opposed to Hircine, of course. In Oblivion, Imperial Legion Foresters would kill each other over hunting deer. (Fixed by the Unofficial Patch.) Any particular reason you're asking?
Kakabishan Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Well, the only group that comes into my mind is the followers of the Divine, Kynareth. They are quite passionate about nature and the protection of it as a form of worshipping/respecting Kyne.

I don't recall any though I would put them as spriggan friendly and opposing the hagravens, possibly. Cults of Kynareth or Kyne maybe but I'm not sure there is any movement to despoil the wild and wilderness that leads to such groups. There also don't seem to be many druid type groups that revere the wild and nature like the various mage, necromancer and witch groups used as basic bad guys along with bandits for cannon fodder and loot guardians.
DCLXVI Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 awesome thank you. i will look this up. its for an idea i had for a rp playthrough. i was gonna go with a bosmer green pact character that would homicidally flip out on the farmers but they don't have animation of them picking there crops
DCLXVI Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 thanks again everyone. i did find something i could use. haha i'm not sure why i never thought of those divines in the first place. The Fryse Hags are an order of savage Nord witches dedicated to the goddess Kyne. Each hag is powerful ice mage in her own right, although they have also been known to consort with the undead or use enchanted silver weapons. The hags wander the wilds of Solstheim, living outside civilized society and indiscriminately killing any traveler they come across, viewing outsiders as a despised threat to their beliefs. They are known to congregate in ice caves.
ppp Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 The Green Pact only applies in Valenwood, to the extent that Bosmer will trade for wooden objects from outside. Your character would have to be a real fanatic to get upset about what Nords do in Skyrim. You'd think witches devoted to Kyne would destroy undead on sight. Unless the undead are 'natural'... No Zombies, exception for Draugrs? Although... given that Raise Undead spells leave (glowing purple) ash piles, maybe it's a faster cremation? Ashes to Ashes, and all that? Under that logic, Dead Thrall is probably not ok.
DCLXVI Posted September 15, 2017 Author Posted September 15, 2017 i figured the green pact had only pertained to valenwood hopefully TES6 will be there. i decided not to use undead, i also thought it kinda weird that they are devoted to kyne but consort with undead. its been a while since i played a character that kills on sight it was fun till i got to close to whiterun...damn nords
ppp Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Aside from being an 'evil' faction in the writer's minds, and therefore Undead are ok? From a gameplay standpoint, Draugr don't usually venture outside their ruins, and Vampires only hunt humanoids, not deer, so... I guess they're technically less disruptive to 'nature' than living humanoids? I suppose you could stake out a 'sacred' territory and kill all intruders (Bandits, Hunters, random encounters in general), instead of the entirety of Skyrim. Maybe use an alternate start like Skyrim Unbound to start in an out of the way place, and never venture into the cities. But then you'd run into issues with stuff never respawning.
DCLXVI Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 that could work. but instead of 1 location i could use the 7 locations from the kyne's sacred trials quest and declare those sites as 'sacred' having my character patrol between those location killing intruders and such. thank you for all this feedback. i use the alternate start mod and just select 'left for dead' option to start somewhere random in the wilds.
