Flying Falcon Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 i am here back just to make sure of something, .... if i were to return as i began giving gradual updates, about how i am advancing in my modding and asking what to do next before i start merging, will this ticket return to life again? or am i the only one who still follows it? the lack of updates is due to me downloading so many more mods, and i admit it ... i am slacking too much, the mods list has over 1.5k and over half of them are follower mods "they can be merged together becoming less than a quarter" i just want to make sure if i am to return back to my "active" status for the sake of this ticket to finish it once and for all, that i'll continue to get more support, and questions answered by the fellow players. i rechecked my system specs and skyrim LE which is the edition that i have and it turns out my PC's specs can run the game, my only problem is my graphics card geforce gt 650m by now is kind of old still i should be able to play it no problem "noticing this after i already defeated alduin once" i just want to make sure this ticket is still alive that's all

YES you read that right! i need to merge possibly 1030 mods into <255 plugins! i have 805 plugsins right now. all i need now is to make sure the load order is correct , activiate all the animation files and run SKSE and start the game! took me 20 days of crunch time to finish finally reviewing everything. .... this was exhausting ... so anyone still following this ticket?

With fnis you run it be setting the exe file through mo itself, then run it with that shortcut/icon, the two gear icons on mo's icon bar, then set the path to the fnis exe, as you are using 64 bit version of windows make sure to choose the 64 bit versions of all the tools, well where they are anyway. As for merging all those companions mods, make damn sure all the merge programs paths and such are correct so that any scripts are properly merged and recompiled for the merge, otherwise you are going to get odd things happening. Depending on animations you may well have problems with that, and it will be dependent on you system as to how many you can use, that is going to be trial and error on your part. Though the general consensus appears to be around 8-10k is about it without potentially causing problems, though some seem to be able to get up to around 10-12k. I also think you are going to have ctd in world areas with all those companions and npc stuff cluttering it up. Also take a look at the bijinn mods, pretty sure you only need the aio esp and not the other ones as well, though not too sure as I do not run those mods. I think I mentioned it in a earlier post here but do remember esp do have a maximum number of records they can hold, and the ck will not load them or at least appears to chop things out of it when it does, the ck will give you an error message about it though. So you may well end up having to change some of your big merges into esm, which could cause potential problems for anything that uses them as master files.

So you may well end up having to change some of your big merges into esm, which could cause potential problems for anything that uses them as master files. i was honestly thinking about using LOOT and then merging the "results of the sorting" but yes, since i am planning on merging stuff so that the game can play with all the mods that i added and since each type of mods should be merged alone [best to avoid merging any custom voiced / quest made] followers with generic ones. and yup i already had many world related CTDs before as is so i might as well consider decreasing the number of NPCs dramatically. as for followers ... i am a hoarder personally i like to have company. i reviewed bijin mods many times and if i am not mistaken they need the esp of each file then they are joined with the AIO esm i think , i need to recheck them. yup the entire thing took me 2 years and half a month of crunch time but at last i made it! now just focus on merging stuff and i hope the game works ... who knows i may end up giving up the dancing animations, i ALREADY gave up on mihail's creatures waiting him to merge them all into a single mega giant mod! i like khajit based and sexy looking followers i do admit i may not end up travelling with all of them, but that is why "clean saving" exists. if i get sick of any of them i simply "depack the merged file, get rid of the mod that i no longer need, then repack it" and i activate it. i'm almost there ... but i do really feel tired... this time i will not review anything other than what could be merged and what should be left alone just to make less NPCs spawn thus i save myself from inevitable CTDs ... anything else i need to be aware of?

In the case of loot I stopped using it around v7 or 8 ish when it started putting bashed patches mid way down or at the top of my load order, rather than at the end, I just tend to block stuff in the load order, armor, weapons, jewellery and such all together with any crafting mods under them, put all the skse and requirements at the top of the load order, place all the world stuff at the botton just above the bash/merge/smash patch, place racemenu and such as well as player/npc hair/brows and such together, block all the npc replacers together in the order I want them to affect the npc. That would work, mine tends to fall in the following order though, [game essential files and DLCs] [SKSE] [race mnsu, player related stuff, npcs, hair, etc] [npc replacers and enhancers] [armor , weapons, jewellery] [crafting] [world stuff] And the last thing would be the personal patch I make to sort out conflicts that are produced by the bash/merge/smash patching, pretty much making sure that the correct npc stuff is passed through to the game itself, clothing and armor replacers use the correct meshes and texutres, creating this patch is damn tedious though, as you pretty much have to work your way through the bash/smash/merge patch item by items, checking to make sure that it works the way you want it to, if the final item in the list is not correct then copy that item into the personal patch and drag and drop the right bits from the appropriate mods in the load order, tedious to say the least, usually npc's are the worse, as you may find multiple mods where the npc is changed, some will be adding weapons/armor or what not to their inventory, but will use vanilla game looks settings which will overwrite the mod added ones. Personally I would have found one of the game set up guides that suited me, worked through that as they tend to look and work quite well, solidified that build, then started adding the various npc and such you want to add to the game, making the merges of those assets as needed.

Those look fine, just ignore the server stuff you do not need it.

"sigh" i'll just remove all my installed and activated mods because if i wasn't going to merge them and play the game, there's no reason for me to keep 100+ gb worth of space on hold over a fool's hope. skyrim is a beautiful and a great game i first ever got my copy with the last update 1.93 at the year 2013, then using nexus mod manager i got myself 256 mods active and after i spent a month and a half day to night playing the game none stop in obsession to finish it ... i only managed to finish the main quest and kill alduin, and i managed to finish dawngard dlc as well, but i did not have the time to play through dragonborn. then i spent 5 years hoarding mods like there is no tomorrow .. i must admit that after nmm messed up my game with the many mods i ran and replaced... i had to start from the 0 back to the 100. i spent the last 2 years 1 to over view all the mods i had and make sure i got the latest updates, and 1 year to choose which to keep and which to back up away as an archive. the pre-requests became too many, the modding turned from a fun thing to do into a chore, so many great mods started relying too much on third party modders made tools, don't get me wrong these tools are absolutely great! fascinating and i appreciate every single one of them! but modding the game from the 0 to the 100 was no longer a hobby of plug and play , it became more like an unpaid work! yup i choose my mods i choose which versions i choose the order of them and when needed i did make my own manual modifications... but there was no fun or hype in this anymore, and little by little i started to understand how much time i spent on hoarding and adding mods to my collecting i had skyrim in my mind all the time! and i at last made up my mind ..... if my game as vanilla is broken as is , if i can't play the game that i wish to play without more waiting and being under the mercy of someone who may not even answer my help requests and begging, then until everything is settled there is no point in keeping the mods installed anymore, the laptop broke, the HDD is almost full, and i must carry on. 5 years of OCD over mods hoarding is an unreal amount of time .. but it wasn't wasted! many mods were removed many became hidden gems, and i am glad i have my own copies of them! to put it to rest simple and clear... this post is over. until i can run the game again with all the mods of my choice merged together on a high end machine, there is no point in wasting time and holding into a hope that will never come. ... anytime soon at least. i will keep up looking after mods of my liking but looks like skyrim will have to wait, i only played it once in my life, and although it wasn't enough i better start doing something else and break my obsession with it. i will return after my problem is solved, but not before that. so for now, thank you everyone who stuck with me throughout all these years and had patience with my ignorance, this post will not be deleted, but i'll leave it as is. when i get the chance to come back to skyrim as a player and not as a modding stuck person who keeps looking after mods that would not be of any value without the game. then i will start a new ticket with a fresh start., but for now i am done. thank you all very much. and if you wish to forget about this ticket i won't mind, but the info in it about many things are still worthy of a lot of value, that's why i am not deleting it. that is all. skyrim is fun, but modding it too much destroys the fun and the entertainment before the game even is launched. i would like to play it modded, but if i can't i won't pursue a hope that won't be answered anytime soon.
Grey Cloud Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 You were told it was a fool's errand when you started and you still haven't learned anything. It is nothing to do with the hardare, it is nothing to do with 'third-party tools'. It is a limitation of the Skyrim engine.
