My Systemic SexLab Problem

Hi... I have been having a systemic problem with SexLab and all its associated mods for around three years. I have had three different computers over this time, two macs with wine/bootcamp and now a full on gaming pc. None of the hardware is the same, none of the software is the same I did not import files over.

Now on to the problem.

Every time I make a build full of mods everything goes fine, until I save and close the game. Now without fail the game CTDs on load of the save. Doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing, the mods only have to be installed. I have extensively combed over the papyrus logs in multiple builds on multiple computers and there are either now errors or errors that don't have anything to do with the crash. At first I found running the FNIS tool helped, but then it didn't. And strangely at one point removing random mods helped as well. I have used LOOT, MO, NMM and Save cleaners (every single one I could find) as well as TESVEdit. Nothing.

Now before you ask what my load order is, it doesn't matter... I have tried this with no mods but FNIS and Loverslab mods, I have tried it with 200+ mods. (All of which worked find until I added SL) I have tried it with HDT and Bodyslide, and sometimes without. I have also scoured the internet on any inkling of what it could be and the closest I got to anything was a post with three replies about FNIS causing ctd on load save. It was apparently a version problem. And that's it, the only two variables I have which could be possibly causing it are FNIS and any Loverslab mod. Now you understand why this could be a problem.

As of now, I have to start a new game every time I load the game up, which as you might guess is excruciating to do. I am interested if anyone has had this problem in the past or knows the solution. It is the single strangest programming mystery I have encountered, and I would thrilled to get it fixed...

Cheers

Post your load order.

Or at least list the SexLab mods you use. Even tho you think it's irrelevant it seems obvious to me you must be installing some kinda bad mod, or wrong load order, or something to consistently have this problem.

Or do you mean you literally only used Sexlab, FNIS, and something like MatchMaker?

Also post your system specs. i know you say you have used multiple computers, but what are their system specs? Maybe every one if your computers is very low end? Dunno unless you give more information, including the kind you seem to think is unimportant.

Crash on save/load tells me your install is likely messed up. You have said you have used and done this and that but it doesn't amount to squat if it is not done correctly. It is not likely you will get any help remotely.

The S.T.E.P wiki is the skyrim modders bible. If you follow the wiki and watch some MO tutorials you should be golden. Go back to a fresh install and make sure you have un-subbed from any steam workshop mods if you have any. With MO your data folder should be empty besides the official plug-ins and bsa files. Nothing else!

If you get stuck ask away. Easier to answer specific questions over generic ''My skyrim don't work!'' ones.

Thank you all for your help... It seems to be that the Defeat mod was making the load order unstable. I am still testing but everything seems to be in order...

i'm 99.9% sure it's not Defeat (alone). Defeat works for about 10k users without (these kind of) problems, so it's something else. It might be a mod that conflicts with Defeat. If you're fine without it, nvm. But if you want to have it, back to basics. Install nothing then Sexlab and requirements, save, test. If it's fine, add Defeat and requirements, save, test. If you have a problem at this point, come back, but i doubt that. So from there you go on adding mods, every 3-5 i'd test again. When it stops working at some point you know it's one of those 3-5 mods you've added last.

But your load order doesn't seem right to me at first glance, did you run Loot on that one? Imho SkyUI should be above sexlab, same for install order. For xpmse the load order isn't relevant afaik, but it must overwrite everything - reinstall with NMM or drag&drop at the bottom of the left side with MO.
