Running ENB .314 and updated nvidia drivers to 385.28 last week, ever since i get lights randomly turning off and on when moving the camera.

I'm getting this bug both in vanilla locations with ELFX + custom locations like Aether Suite.

Can anyone confirm?

I've had that happen (using .310), but only at the Lady Mara statue in LAL. Perhaps try .310? I have no idea if that'll make a diff., but...

Ah yeah that's also where i noticed this first. But later in some apartments of Aether Suite too.

Hey guk.  I found this info posted on a player home mod and thought I'd share it:

If you are seeing lights turning on and off (highly dependent on your camera's POV), add the following line in your Skyrim.INI file under:

[General]

fFlickeringLightDistance=8192

Am trying it now, so I'm not sure if it does anything, but give it a shot...

Got that line in my INI for ages, and i think this only fixes the light pop-ins in the distance.

Ugh...I have the same damn problem. I was hoping there was a solution for it by now. :(

EDIT: Okay so while capturing some screenshots I removed the facelight from everyone but me and the aether suite lighting bug stopped. I hope this helps. :)

Yeah Facelight on several NPCs probably just kills the engine limit right away.

Well the thread was started almost 9 months ago, meanwhile i've been doing a couple of playthroughs.

For vanilla locations with ELFX, there is Unofficial ELFX SMIM Performance Patch.

Examples what this fixes:

+ locations like Entrance of Dragonsreach with lights toggling on/off like reported here

+ locations like Radiant Raiment with unplayable FPS drops

While playing i still ran into some caves where the torchlight was buggy, not sure if due to ELFX or Customizable Lights. The latter doesn't seem to go well with ELFX in general, its scripted features for shadowcasting torches / candlelight were giving me freezes so i just used the increased radius and intensity.

Also the Mara Statue in the LAL start room remains bugged.

It's an issue that's been around for a while as far as I know. AMD gpu, drivers always updated. Any ENB version. I live with the light clicking on and off with camera angle at the Mara statue in Abandoned Prison for as long as I have ELFX installed.

And yes it's one of those things that bug me in a way that once I find the sweet-spot, I cam back and forth like a maniac just to see it flash at me. Like scratching at a hole in the paint on the wall as if that would make it less obvious.

Still my favorite lighting mod but it's got small issues. Never tried customizable lights. It looks cool, but it's a safe bet that doesn't like to play with ELFX.

The performance patch Guk linked is a hard requirement for games with ELFX and SMIM.
