Valgo Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Hey there, I played and enjoyed Fallout 4 on XBox One and I thought that there are finally enough mods to warrant buying it again for PC. Sadly when I tried to start a game this happened: And that is when I get to one of the spots were I can see at least a thing because most of the time I don't see anything except for multiple colored walls that change depending on where I walk or where I look. I set the graphics to the lowest possible option and there are no mods installed as of now. Technical Data: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 XMG A705 x64 Intel® Core i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 MHz, 4 Core, 8 Processors American Megatrends Inc. 1.03.01, 22.07.2015 GeForce GTX 960M To be honest: I don't have a clue about technical stuff. I bought that Laptop which was labeled a Gaming PC not that long ago and so far everything worked fine (except for some wireless connection issues). So yeah if anyone could help me sort this out, that would be great.
myuhinny Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Do you have any mods installed? To me it almost looks like you have a skeleton issue where the skeleton being used isn't compatible with the outfit or armor someone is wearing and when that happens you either get stretching to infinity or you get a CTD.
RitualClarity Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 ^ as stated above It is usually a skeleton issue. the reason you cant' see anything is it is from your characters body. FYI, when you send in for Tech Support of a PC game you need to at least include your load order (in a spoiler please) and any mods that you installed that aren't on that as well if possible (textures, skeleton replace rs etc) Body replacers, skeleton and armors must be compatible with each other (as briefly mentioned above) in order to work properly. If this is the issue it is one of the most common issues even for some more experienced individuals.
Valgo Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 Like I stated above, ther are no mods installed so far, hence there is no load order.
Valgo Posted August 27, 2017 Author Posted August 27, 2017 Verify your game cache. Aaaand that worked. Should have done that in the first place but since it never worked with my Skyrim issues I just really didn't think of it. Thanks a lot!
RitualClarity Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Verify your game cache. Aaaand that worked. Should have done that in the first place but since it never worked with my Skyrim issues I just really didn't think of it. Thanks a lot! When problems occur which make no sense with any Bethesda game, verify the cache, It doesn't hurt and might help solve the problem. I have had problems with Bethesda games and others and verifying the cache has helped greatly to resolve the issues. People might not like services like Steam and Origin( for selected games) but that is one great benefit. No need to uninstall and reinstall, it is just faster to check and resolve issues to see if you have to go into further diagnosis. Disclaimer... If you have a cleaned master I suggest that you save a copy of it to the side for when you need to verify cache. It is just easier that way and you will eventually have to either verify cache or reload the game (depending on your situation) so having the cleaned masters backed up is a god send.
