help with "Vigilant" mod

Hiya folks.

I'm playing through the "Vigilant" questline currently:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67103/?

It's rather awesome. This has to be one of the most under rated quest mods out there - it's huge, it's really pretty and it's nicely different (assuming you are good with dark, creepy, and twisted...).

It is a tiny bit buggy, but it's a mod. I had to force the "thus spoke khajiit" quest, and reload a few other times - but I run a lot of mods these days, so it may not actually be anything to do with Vigilant per se.

Anyways, I'm stuck on episode 3. I've done the first two curse dungeons, and made my way to the room where Julia spawns.

...and I can't work out how to progress from there. She kinda ohk's me, I can't seem to hurt her by hitting her or spells, and I can't see an obvious mcguffin to interact with.

I had a google for a walkthrough, and didn't have much luck.

I don't suppose any of you nice people have any hints/tips as to what I should be doing next do you?

Thanks for the speedy response!

Hiya folks.

Have you checked/ google-translated the mod author's official walkthrough (originally in Japanese)?

http://naaaaikikvicnvicn.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-5.html

Well, no. Cool. That might help.

It didn't turn up when I googled for walkthroughs (presumably due to the language differences), it's not linked from the mod page front page and it didn't obviously turn up in any of the support threads that the google search hit.

I'll have a look through it now...

...sadly, that doesn't help me :(

"Go to Julius's room on the second floor of the East and get the key to the basement. At this timing creatures wandering south wing.
Heading to the storage from the north stairs, to the basement.

3. Proceed through the passage so that it can not be found in the San Mill with the basement meat knife."

This is, quite literally, a dead end for me.

I can get into the room, get the key and the book. Then Julia spawns and ohk's me.

I tried running away to the basement with the key (I took it as a hint that's where I should be going).

But there is a monster there. Either it ohk's me, or it holds me up for long enough for Julia to catch up with me and ohk me.

Sorry. I don't remember how to avoid the creatures there in detail,

but mod author recommends 1st person view with the narrower PoV

(in the introductory section in EP3) since the creatures react to PC's sight.

I hope this perhaps may help you.

I had a quick explore with TGM set, but didn't really find what I was looking for.

It does seem to be a 'now you must sneak' thing, which is inconvenient as I don't enjoy such gameplay, so am not very good at it - and nor is my character who has no stealth skill!.

I'm considering forcing the quest, but that feels like a shame as I am really digging the grim story arc. I might have another pass with TGM just to see if I can work out what I need to do. Dunno.

Been a while but here goes:

gotta get to the basement, there's a butcher's room in there with hooks hanging from the ceiling. On one of the hooks is the key to the next area. There's another one hit kill monster there so gotta be quick. I just tgm that area since it's more of a pain then fun. Basement access is from two areas, one is in the food storage area, forget the other.

Ps: chapter four is fucking amazing and huge. Your gonna be there for a while.

Run or hide. It's your choice.
And don't look at them (hello Amnesia!)

That's actually all.

TGM is not needed.

In the fourth episode there will be a couple of similar moments. But there everything is much less scary.

Ahha! So that's where that key is. I clearly hadn't explored that room carefully enough!

And this does seem to be the 'now you must sneak past the scary monsters' part of the horror sequence.

Shame that's easier said than done - because my character has no sneak skill, running away and hiding doesn't seem to help much as they don't lose track of me :(

It probably doesn't help that as a player i'm not very good at sneaky gameplay so I'm probably encountering them more often than I could do /  not hiding in an optimal fashion - but it's still frustrating.

So, I'm having trouble with this mission as well. I'm on chapter 4, and I can't seem to get by the "Julias" that are stalking me. They drain your stamina when you look at them, nothing can hurt them, and they kill you in one shot. God Mode doesn't work, and you can't disable them with the console. The screen shaking is making me want to throw up, so I have no idea how to get past this quest. I'll see if I can teleport out of it and complete it with the console, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

I played the Vigilant a long, long time ago....but these Julias that you are talking is during the Child from Oblivion quest? The one inside the Mansion, that you have this ghost kind of lady chasing you down? If it is, you cant kill her, you aint supposed to fight her...you need to find the Molag Baal totem thing...i dont remenber the  the map, but its not inside the mansion, its on a outside like are, that have some small lake with a bridge...you need to go on the lake underwater and press the action key on the totem, it will progress the quest and teleport you to other area.

It's supposed to mimick Amnesia I think, you are not supposed to fight her but to either run or hide. So yeah, this part kinda sucks because it favors stealth players but her screams will also knock you out of sneak mode so there's that. I wouldn't use console commands to complete quests because Vigilant is heavily scripted and you'll probably break something along the way. At most I would use the tcl command to enable noclip mode but even then you might miss a trigger here or there that you're supposed to activate by passing a certain area which you obviously won't do if you're flying through walls.

I think I gave my PC an insane amount of health points via console there to avoid being a one hit wonder. But part IV is the real pain in the ass...
