Viewing Animations (.hkx) Files Outside Skyrim

How do you do this?  Every tutorial I looked up on google says, "Do it with Nifksope by loading a skeleton.hkx (I think they mean .nif?) and adding a .kf file via the Spells tab but first convert the .hkx files to .kf files with a tool from Skyrim Nexus."

If that wasn't a mouthful, none of it is even possible with Nifskope.  I just get an error message saying "errors occurred while attaching .kf".

Also, I think the "tool from Skyrim Nexus" is ConverterUi.exe.

I'm trying to look at 40 .hkx animations but ConverterUi.exe only converts 20 of those animations to a .kf file.  What gives?

TL;DR:  I can't even convert all my .hkx files to .kf and I don't know how to view .kf files.  So, starting back at the beginning, does anybody know how to view animations outside of Skyrim?

Drop skeleton in window

Add animation : file - add

It works!  In the Animation Tab of this program at the top right, you also have to make sure Run Animations box is checked in order to play the .hkx animations.  How do I get rid of the large punching bag in the middle?

Also, I closed the program and reopened it with the same settings and now the animations don't automatically play like before?  What the hell?  Lol!

I ask the question, why do you need it?
Just for fun, or does it make sense?

I don't mind telling if you really want to know.  I'm using RandomIdleAnimations http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72747/? and I'm trying to find the best Idle animations for my game.  Previously I chose a bunch of them at random and it turns out that there are a lot of animations that I don't like.

I've gone through all the idle animations for Realistic Animations, Sexy Idle Animation, Her Animations, and Pretty Idle Animations.  I finally got rid of the animations I don't like and also discovered some good ones to add to my game.

Now I'm more confused, I don't have a 1hm(Object) loaded at all for me to enable or disable.

Strange approach - for me it would be easier to write an FNIS, an ESP to test all the animations - in Game.
Well then good luck.

Lol!  How do you even write an FNIS, an ESP to test all the animations?  LMAO.  Maybe all I need to do is take a couple weeks to learn scripting for FNIS.  Oh, so easy!

Even if I can do that, how do I know what idle animations are what?

The names are generic names like PRI001 through PRI020, and some have the same name only they're in a separate folder.  How do I separate the ones I want from the ones I don't want?  In game?

If you think your idea is easier, then you should make that .ESP, I guarantee you a lot of people would like it.  Lol.  Funny guy.

It is animation which I added

There you can add animations to choose, those that like.

They remain there

That's what I'm saying. I don't have any animations there to disable or enable the punching bag but the punching bag is still there.  And the animations stopped playing.  I don't know why.  I have to use the "Anim Frame" slider to see the animation.  Sad.

FNIS and script - aha- no further explanations necessary.
Any animations in an ESP - I've finished it - and yes people will like it. ;)
However, it is also with sound, other NPC's etc - it's not a simple idle test-Esp.

Whatever - a lot of success and fun with your project. :)

PS: FNIS is not scripting, is simple a text-file

Hell yeah, make it! The idea would be to make it so that you can test every animation (.hkx) that you want. And also be able to know the file name of the animation when you're done testing so you will know if you want to keep it or throw it away. It will be a very useful mod. Only one thing though... how will testing in game be faster than testing outside of the game? Lmao. Good luck to you!

Here are the latest versions ... https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8SgSQGjqypSS3JoZWRDaEVacVE (I grabbed the PcSx version) ... though I couldn't get it to work at all. Which of the hundred skeleton files? When I use, for example, the XP32 skeleton_female.hkx for skeletin, why does it look like the Pillsbury Doughboy? What's up with the punching bag? How do you actually get HKX anims to play? In anyone could screengrab their settings like a simple walkthrough, instead of vague "write an FNIS"-style absurdity, I'd name my firstborn after you.
