Guest Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Hi there! My question is same as the title. What do you think about the dlc-s of the game and what do you think wich one is worth?
Ventus2111 Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Automatron, Far Harbor and Nuka World are worth because they add a lot of gameplay and content to the game. The 3 workshop DLCs are not worth because they only add items to the workshop which is something that you can also add by using some simple mods. However, the Season Pass (which contains all DLCs) is cheaper than the first 3 DLCs together. If you would like to play at least two of the good DLCs, simply purchase the Season Pass. Personally, I would recommend you to buy the Season Pass.
Sarge Misfit Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I don't have them all yet But, I do have Automaton, and I enjoyed it. Got Contraptions, but haven't really explored settlements and all that. Kinda holding off until I can get the rest of them. On a gov't pension, so not much left over for gaming. If my income is fixed, why am I always broke?
Kain82 Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I just got back into playing FO4 and bought the Season Pass. i have not tried any of the dlc's yet. But I've heard good things about Far Harbor. I think Far Harbor is the Point Lookout of FO4, that's just my guess. I haven't played the dlc yet.
Captain Cobra Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Only one that's really worth it is Far Harbor, but you'll need to get all of the DLCs to use the Unofficial patch so you might as well bend over and take it.
Veladarius Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Mu opinion rating them on a scale of 1 - 5 - Automatron - 3 overall - Story is a 2 - Making bots is a 5 - Enemies are annoying as hell - 2 - Wasteland Workshop - 4 - has a number of good items to use in construction but the arena fighting thing isn't interesting to me - Far Harbor - 4 - Good story but parts get boring after doing it a few times. Another negative is having radiant quests with destinations there when you have not ever been there. - Contraptions Workshop - 4 - lots of good items for construction - Vaultec Workshop - 2 - Boring story (what there is of it), the only saving grace is being able to build vault-like buildings. I used this once to entirely enclose the Murkwater Construction site settlement. - Nuka World - 1 - I wasn't interested in becoming a raider so there isn't anything of value in this for me. Nothing of interest as far as construction either.
CKlolita Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Get the season pass, the 2 plot DLC and automatron is enough to warrant the purchase.Nuka world is actually fun regardless if you want to be raider or not. New guns, new enemies, OP perks, large enough landmass to explore.

I agree with most everything except 2 things...bots get 5+ (kinda shocked there are no new bot mods) and Nuka World is some fun fighting but the raider side is lacking, the settlement system was a big disappointment. Clearing all the parks then turning on the raiders was a blast to me....at least a 3
Molevalence Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Its almost July 2017 and I still have not touched Fallout 4 yet or even looked at any videos/mods/ or anything to do with the game story wise. All I know is there's no Caesars Legion (bummer I wanted to snipe some of them. ) no idea about how the DLCs are but when the time comes Ill probably get them.

You want a fast killer bot then use a Mr Handy and instead of the eye stalks on the sides you put on the Sentry arms with Gatling Lasers. For movement use the Mr Handy jet propulsion and give it saw blades on all 3 arms.

Honestly once you get a few ranks of robotics expert or Science you can make really op automatrons even without mods, as is my Ada just has a rapid laser for her gun arm and she's clearing house with level 20 enemy spawns X3 Just the option for eyebot/securitron bots just adds more chassis for you to make utterly insane later. Add in mods like legendary modified robot weapons or expensive to craft combined modules to make some better late-game bots and yer pretty much golden even if you add tougher enemies later on.

As far as mods go I was talking more about looks variations, robots def dont need more power. I would like to see more sleek looking bots. The regular assaultron factory armor is my favorite. I saw several eyebots also, a cool idea would be a mini eye bot that enhances skills for you or could project a shield for you, quiet and it hovers along behind you...maybe it can even give you settlement alerts or something.....now I am rambling, anyway bots are great, one of the most fun parts of the game even without an affinity perk. Spiderbots and robowolves would also be cool but I assume there would need to be a lot more work for that.
Kelinas Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Fair enough. Yeah, sadly beyond adding in the missing robos from lore I've not seen anyone try to craft their own robot parts yet, kinda sucks. I do know the guy that did the Nightstrikers is working on robodogs next, but I doubt that'll be automatron related. Though am somewhat surprised noone's thought of doing automatron synths.
DigitalP Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Like the rest of the game it's what you make of it. There is some really great content there. But also some really stupid design decisions. The workshop DLC's including Vault 88 are really only useful if you spend a lot of time settlement building and don't really provide anything that mods haven't done yet. That being said there is some useful things. Like being able to make bottles out of glass for your purified water. It's a handy thing to have if your home base is away from where you can get a ready supply of bottles. And Vault 88 could have been so much more. Automatron is actually quite cool. I generally like it. Although the Rust Devils should have been fleshed out some more. Far Harbour is probably the best. The Dima memory puzzle aside. BUT I do wish things like the lever action rifle should be available in the Commonwealth stores at least straight away. Nuka World is brilliant. I'm a raider. By the time it becomes available I'm so pissed off being the errand boy that has to do everything I really couldn't give a fuck. But that being said. I really hated going into the various parks to claim them for the raiders. I don't want to kill robots, animals or ghouls. I want to kill people. There is enough back story there to have done so. Gunners in the Bottling Plant after the caps, Nuka World Refugees in the Wild West, Galaxy a seperate friendly town until you need to take it over. Because clearing the parks does get old real quick.
mercplatypus Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 In my own play through the dlcs have breathed a lot more new life into the game for me. The settlement add ons are mostly cosmetic with only a handful of really useful additions but make settlement building more interesting if that is what you are going for. I've enjoyed automatron, far harbor and nuka world quite a bit. I don't think all of them will feel right together every play through but each of them can add fun things depending on what kind of character you want to make.
