I literally suck at using racemenu and ECE always makes my game spaz crash, or cause other issues, plus i dont know what to overwrite when i install ECE (skeletons etc, cuz i care about my hdt vag working).

So basically i'm out of options here. I want to create a realistic asian face, not your final fantasy-esque heavy eye liner anime face, but japanese porn adult actress kind of face that's rounder and much more realistic.

Is it possible to bring a head into zbrush or modo and sculpt it in there, then put it back into skyrim and still have it work properly? or maybe even try to start somethign from scratch in zbrush and bring it into skyrim?

Never used Zbrush.

But you can use exported heads and vertex edit them in other tools such as blender and 3dsmax.

Another option is conforming the skyrim head (vanilla or CITRUS) to a model you created.

if you haven't mess with armors in blender or 3dmax, bad idea to start by messing with body parts

check the number of verticles is the same as in the nif if you mess with the head somewhere

i lost a few verticles with the blender nif import plugin

that was the problem

to mess with the head, i had to export .nif as .obj, and import that in blender

but you lose the weights that way, another problem

I want to create a realistic asian face

Bloody tough.

  • You have to set up your monitor for virtual screen resolution at 1440, create an MO profile only for ECE (asides from ECE, install ECE Enhancer, ECEE More Body Sliders, XPMSE, Netimmerse Override, Chargen Export).
  • then with the same profile's INI set the screen resolution to 1080 and window mode.
  • Open the picture of the face of your choice, then run the game and position the Skyrim window so that you can see your subject matter. Use QAsmoke to make those edits.
  • Open Showracemenu. Set the body weight initially to 1 (this is because any other weight may leave a neck gap if you use the exported face with the mismatched body weight). Face dimensions you have to match up against the picture, and since you have a lot of sliders at your disposal, you can massage the face to the shape you want. The Face tab allows you to manipulate face length, width, depth.
  • Pick the following face parts: Eye (#2 or #3) Nose (#2) Mouth (#1 or #2) Brows (any). The nose you can flip the tip angle, and then the nostril wings. Keep the eyebags at default, or at least 0.1.
  • Make further edits until you get the look you want, then save your new preset, pick any name. Do not export yet! because by default your export will have the same filename as the character.
  • Make a gamesave from the console (command save <any name>)
  • Open Showracemenu again, make final checks, then this time you can export (press F1) for Racemenu, before saving the finished face as a preset.

If you intend to use the created facegen for Racemenu, set the body weight again for 1, zero everything else back to default except for the aforementioned face parts, then go to Sculpt, mask off the neck (so that there's no neck gap), then import the facegen. Only then you make changes accordingly.
