Some Sexouty dialogue lines are missing

- No lines for PC-initiated 'Sexout Hookups'. NPCs do approach, and it works normally when that happens.

 

- No lines for 'Sexout Companions' sexing. A line for Veronica appeared once, at first meeting, and hasn't been seen since. Cass's never appeared at all. Whiskey/wine/mentats are present in Courier's inventory.

I found part of your problem. From the SexoutHookups OP:

Requirements:

1. This is needed to use the plugin at all

- Sexout

2. These are "requirements"' date=' use them to get additional features.

- Smalltalk Let's you talk to characters that don't have dialogue from before. Only needed when they are following you to a more private location and you want to start conversation with them.

- MCM adds a menu system where you can:

- change the multiplier for approaches

Actually, SmallerTalk isn't a requirement-requirement for Hookups, since it only enables 'hooking up' with NPCs without dialogues. And I clearly remember SexoutHookups dialogues showing up for NPCs with dialogues up until a week or so ago, since I haven't had SmallerTalk installed for a very long time.

 

As a long shot, the disappearance may have coincided with one of the recent SexoutNG/SCR updates, but I don't think there's anything specifically related to dialogues in their changelogs.

 

I haven't tried starting a new game, yet, though I don't know if it would be any different from a clean-save update/reinstall in regards to fixing the missing dialogues. Will try later today.

Nothing in NG has touched dialogs like... ever. The last 2-3 beta releases of .67 have been messing with how the dialog callback hooks are implemented, but that's all working now, and isn't a system that hookups or the companion mod use.

 

If you think sexout itself is to blame, I always keep 4-5 older versions of it in the core file you download, so you can try one of the older ones if you like. They're in the backups directory and named stuff like "Sexout_1.4.65.esm.bak".

 

Sorry about the '.bak' bit, I had to do that to prevent FOMM from crying about ESM files outside the data directory.

 

I don't think SCR has touched anything there either.

 

A clean save is just as good as starting over.

 

Since you're having trouble specifically with companions, I'd start by disabling any non-sexout companion mods you have, as well as smalltalk/smallertalk, and see if that fixes your issue.

I'm sorry, but you are confusing SexoutHookups with SexoutSex. Hookups makes NPC's approach YOU, nothing else. SexoutSex allows you to approach NPC's (including some but not all followers I think, I'm unsure about that), while SexoutCompanions is the mod that allows you to have sex with any of the vanilla companions + ImprovedSunnysmiles.

Hmm, now that I think about it, I may have packaged SexoutSex along with SexoutNG into one FOMOD, back when the latter wasn't yet released as FOMOD itself. And if I did, it seems I have forgotten to reinstall SexoutSex separately. Will reinstall it later today and see it solves the PC 'hookups' issue, thanks.

I don't believe Sexout is to blame, either. As I've described in my answer to Kashked, one of the issues is likely related to my forgetting to include one of the addons when I updated Sexout to its first FOMOD release.

But I'll keep the older versions in mind, just in case - thanks for telling me about them.

Alright, an update:

 

1) PC not being able to hookup was indeed caused by absent SexoutSex. Thanks again, Kashked.

 

2) Still no SexoutCompanion dialogues after uninstalling all companion mods and companion modifications, as well as RobCo Certified, SexoutCertified and SexoutLobo.

Loading up all active mods in FNVEdit, I see no conflicts of any kind with SexoutCompanions, either.

There a few mods that modify unrelated 'Dialogue Topic', so I guess I'll have to try removing them one by one next. :s

You can try just loading sexoutcompanion last, and smallertalk or smalltalk just before that. I don't think smallertalk should be required for a voiced NPC but you never know.

 

Open the companion esp in fnvedit and look at the included dialogs, and you can try initiating them manually in game with startconversation in the console as well.

Erm, there doesn't seem to be any requirement for Small(er)Talk in SexoutCompanions. I've also noticed that right after [clean] installing SexoutCompanions, its dialogue option does appear for Veronica (but not Cass) only once, works as intended and then disappears forever (unless I clean-reinstall the addon again).

Heh, that's probably a bit too much immersion-breaking trouble to go through for such a minor addition to gameplay. ;)

Oh well, if I can't get it to work normally (and I've run out of mods I'm willing to disable), then I'll just have to do without.

 

 

 

In other news, the PC-initiated 'hooking-up' is now getting me stuck in an infinite 'NPC's after-sex comment' loop. WILL THIS NIGHTMARE NEVER END? :D

And I've run into exactly the same looping problem with Powder Gangers Tryouts described in this thread. Except, it happens for me with or without having Hard Prison Time installed - simply defying Eddie in the first conversation is enough to trigger it.

If you're going to use the beta (especially if you're going to bug report with the beta) it's always important to use the most recent one. A bug in one of the earlier versions had an infinite-callback-dialogue bug.

 

Test again either with the release version, or with the latest beta.

Oh god, I'm head-desking from my own stupidity pretty hard, right now. Guess what I forgot to do? Why, to update NVSE Extender to v7, of course! It just sat there, in my downloads, minding its own business for the last two days, while I was tearing my hair out and reinstalling every mod I had one by one. ;)

 

No looping for SexoutSex, now. Will check Tryouts later, but I expect that issue to have been solved by this, as well.

 

Thanks, prideslayer. I probably wouldn't have stumbled on this for a long time had I not gone to check Sexout's latest versions and see your reminder to install NVSEEv7. In bold letters. Twice. :)
