TheDragonBorn Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I'm having a bit of trouble and I'm hoping someone can help me. to be completely honest I'm not sure this is a problem with the aft mcm but I think it might be, possibly. I was doing some adventuring with mjoll the lioness and dismissed her when I was done with her. I started an adventure with two other followers but noticed when I went into the aft mcm mjoll was still in my group, so I figured maybe I had not dismissed her and needed to do so, I gave her a home with my home is your home mod and I went back to her, my issue is shes not following me so that tells me she isn't registering as a follower. her dialogue options are choices I would have if she was following me such as wait here and lets split up aka go home. now... if I want to have mjoll follow me I cant because she seems to register as a part of my group already when shes clearly not following me cuz I dismissed her, so I don't have the "follow me" option. pls help
Mammaluigi9433 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Switch to EFF it's so much better and so many useful commands
TheDragonBorn Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 Switch to EFF it's so much better and so many useful commands i'll keep that in mind but i still need to fix this issue with mjoll before switching to anything different
Thenryb Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I have EFF and Mjoll behaves the same way as the OP describes. The only workaround for me is to use only the vanilla hiring/firing dialogue. Hardly a satisfactory solution. I hope you get more useful advice than you have received so far. Actually, Mjoll worked best for me when I was using UFO.
valcon767 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I feel for you ...anyhow I have used Mjoll off and on several times and the only way I was able to dismiss and then recruit her again was to use the vanilla dialogues for hiring and firing her (as Thenryb has said). I have used UFO, EFF, IAFT, AFT (6 different versions, 1 of which I currently use), and FLP. as for fixing what is wrong now things to try would include using the console to reset her ai, possibly recycle actor, check her factions and fix any if they are wrong (I know it can be done just do not remember how), remove her from game entirely (hard to do due to quests you have already done and having to clean your savegame) and then add her back and redo all her quests and stuff. best of luck to you

Thenryb Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 To remove her and add her back open console, click on her and type disable. With console still open click enable. If you close the console before re-enabling her, you will need to make note of her reference id and then open the console , and type "prid (ref id)" and then "enable". The command for resetting ai is "resetai". Do not use quotes with any of these commands.

yatol Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 its legit irritating me because I cant figure it out. probably a stack dump as for fixing the mess... euh... tesedit find out whatever the follower mod use savegamecleaner click on delete broken script to screen your current mess (don't save that) reload the save delete whatever it is for mjoll (and only her) click on delete broken script and compare with screen (if delete broken scripts spamming end up with mq cw whatever something, you have to keep the broken scripts) backup the save before doing anything to it, since most are just adding much more problems by messing randomly with it
Thenryb Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I hope a real solution is forthcoming:) Frankly, I have been googling the issue off and on for some time with no solution. I have seen lots of posts about this issue with Mjoll dating back some years, so it may be a bug with the vanilla game.
valcon767 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 ok I guess I can post the 2 processes that have worked for me (neither is a sure thing) anything inside { text } brackets is for information only purposes process 1 1 - enter game and find Mjoll { try to do this in a low impact area if possible } 2 - open console and select Mjoll { if you use the tab key you will get extra info available to make sure you have her selected } 3 - disable 4 - recycleactor 5 - resestai 6 - enable 7 - leave area so that I get a load screen 8 - return to Mjoll and check if problem fixed 9 - continue playing if problem fixed and if not I tried process 2 process 2 1 - enter game and find Mjoll 2 - open console 3 - savegame madeforcleaning { that is just what I used, any name that you will KNOW is there for this specific purpose is fine } 4 - savegame cleantest1 { again just any name you know is for this purpose works } 5 - exit game to desktop 6 - run savegame cleaning tool { save game script scalpel or resaver (I use this one) depending on which works for you } 7 - load cleantest1 { save game made in step 4 } 8 - clean broken scripts that I can positively identify as affect Mjoll that do not have a CW { these are civil war stuff and will break your game if removed } in them 9 - save this "cleaned game" 10 - load skyrim and the just cleaned game 11- test game to see if problem fixed problem not fixed continued below 12 - open console 13 - savegame cleantest2 14 - exit game 15 - run savegame cleaning tool 16 - load cleantest2 { save game made in step 13 } 17 - clean 1 other broken script (must not have cw in it) 18 - save game { make certain to keep a back up at this point - it is IMPORTANT } 19 - enter game { load the just cleaned version } and test 20 - if problem fixed enjoy playing still not fixed continued 21 - delete the just cleaned save game {the one created in step 18 } 22 - restore the backup made in step 18 23 - repeat steps 16-20 {make sure to choose a different script each time } 24 - repeat steps 21 to 23 until all scripts have been checked { well all those that do not have the cw in them } if problem still not solved at this point I gave up and just started a new game {you can also choose to revert to the save game made in process 2 step 3 which is before you did anything that would further break your game } in total process 1 worked about 20% of the time for me and process 2 worked about 60% of the time. hope this helps some
