Aqvaman Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 OK, I need some help. I have tons of mods installed and my game crashes pretty often when I try to load saved games. I read that there's a SKSE memory fix which could help, so I manually created SKSE.ini ; it's in Data\SKSE\Plugins and it looks like this: [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1EnableDiagnostics=1[Memory]defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=1024scrapHeapSizeMB=384 However, when I looked at the papyrus log of the crash I noticed this: "Memory page: 128 (min) 512 (max) 76800 (max total)" I got suspicious, so I installed MemoryBlocksLog and the log looks like this: Block1 Block2256MB 256MB 256 145 - last line I'm pretty much a noob, but I'm guessing that this means that that the game doesn't have enough space to load, but what I don't understand is why it didn't take my SKSE.ini changes into account. I'm guessing that the HeapInitialAllocMB value is the total of the two blocks and it should be 1024 not 512. Does anybody know what to do? Please help.
Nazzzgul666 Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I had some trouble myself several times and i still can't remember what exactly i did to fix it... partly, because it was something different every time. What helped me to get it working last time was the mod "crash fixes", which requires it's own steps then. And it has a warning if the memory fix is working or not before you even load a game, might help.
valcon767 Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 good call on suggesting Crash Fixes, it will also let you exceed Skyrim's default string limit (another cause of crashes or lost save games)
