Ferishia Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Basically, whenever I try to change my weapon, armor, use an item (e.g. a potion or sh), activate helmet toggle (which is not part of the inventory but does this aswell), the game lags for about 6-7 seconds. It's really annoying since using items is a vital part of any gameplay. Everything else seems to work fine, Load Order has been sorted by LOOT, a bashed patch is in effect, I ran GenerateFNISForUsers.exe properly, Duel Sheath Redux patcher all the same and most mods with a ton of ITM records had those cleaned aswell (with TESVEdit). Guest Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Launch the game, make sure the logs are active. Wait a minute without doing anything. Do only the minimum to reproduce the problem (the lag in the inventory.) Exit the game. Post the resulting Papyrus.log as attachment. This may help to identify the cause.

myuhinny Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 How much crap do you have in your inventory? How much of that crap that is in there is high poly (DAZ studios) poly count stuff? The more crap you have in your inventory the more it's going to lag and with stuff that is high poly count it can get worse with CTD's just looking through inventory trying to find the item you need CTD at crafting table trying to craft outfits if there are too many high poly items in the crafting list to name a few.

I never had a CTD on the new setup as of yet, and that isn't my problem. I just started the game with Alternate Start - LAL, so my inventory is borderline empty. Just some basic items (100% vanilla), and using any item still has this lag. As helmet toggle has it too, I'm not even sure that the inventory is at fault here.
myuhinny Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Well I was just asking from experience as I have had it before when I had too much junk in the inventory or when too much of the stuff was high poly. Other then what I have experience not sure what could be cauising it for you.
meme supreme Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 What's the texture quality of the items, and are you on a HDD? I had an item with multiple 8k textures that also lagged me for a solid 4 secs, but by downscaling them to 2k or 1k it loaded fine.
Ferishia Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 Only Rustic Clothing 2k is in effect at that time. I'm not an a HDD, I'm using a relatively new (1 month) Western Digital My Passport Ultra 2TB. Also potions lag exactly the same way when using them so I'm not sure it is anything texture-related.
Guest Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Checked your log, that is really clean. You have a mod (I don't know the name, the code is "_mz_HT") that is recalculating something when you are equipping/unequipping items. kaytavo Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 i woud assume _mz_HT is helmet toggle from the logs have you made any INI edits specifically to papyrus
Ferishia Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 This is very specifically all I have done to the Papyrus stuff.

Are you saying that you have the game/mods installed on an external drive? And the one you mentioned there is a HDD even if it is external.

Yes I have the game and mods installed on an external drive. Have you made sure it's connected to a USB 3 port? Either way there's a decent chance that using an external drive is the reason for your issue.

Is there any way to move the game from the HDD to the internal SSD without having to reinstall and re-do everything?
LazyBoot Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Yes it is connected to a 3.0 port. Is there any way to move the game from the HDD to the internal SSD without having to reinstall and re-do everything? You can move the game by going to the properties in steam, and then there's a button in the "local files" tab.
kaytavo Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 i would get rid of any papyrus INI settings besides the log one as the ones to increase memory used by scripts can cause the game to lag when a script fires
Ferishia Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 I have moved Skyrim to the SSD and deleted all Papyrus INI settings except the log and the problem is still there.

myuhinny Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 You evidently have *never* had lots of stuff in your inventory or lots of high poly stuff in your inventory at one time. I use to have mine full of high poly DAZ stuff downloaded from different places eventually you will get enough of them into one place and it'll cause a crash scrolling through the inventory. Move them out and place half in one chest and half in a different one and the crashes while scrolling through the inventory will be gone. It also happens when the crafting forge is full of high poly outfits to craft scroll through the list for a bit making stuff and you'll crash.
Ferishia Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 I don't see any relation to the topic at hand. No more suggestions for me? D:
yatol Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 I use to have mine full of high poly DAZ stuff downloaded from different places it's not because it's high poly you ram ctd in your inventory.... textures eat much more ram than a 10-20mo nif hairs that's 2-4mb of nifs and 2 mb of textures but if you try to go from hair 1 to hair 500 in one go, that will probably be a ram ctd, even if those hairs aren't much
