If you don't care about that you can ignore this update. Information: This is a small mod that allows other mods to fade out tattoos applied by the SlaveTats mod (developed by murfk). It's mainly meant to be used by other mods but as of version 1.0 you can also add & removed tattoos from the tracking system manually using the MCM. So if another mod applies a tattoo you don't want to removed directly but don't want to keep forever, you can use the MCM menu to have it fade out over X hours. Currently the only mod that uses this mod is RapeTattoos (developed by me) but maybe that will change in the future. Otherwise have you checked if the problem persists if you create a new game?

Version 1.2 (released 3 months ago or so) added an alpha setting which this mod uses.

You could try disabling SlaveTatsEventBridge in case that is somehow interfering, but I doubt it. Sorry this mod isn't working for you. If I get more people reporting the same problem I might be able to find a similarity and track down the underlying problem that way. What OS are you using? Also, how many tattoos do you have installed?

RapeTattoos was designed with a tattoo limit of 1000 in mind. It could also just be that you didn't have the menu open long enough for it to load fully. On my computer it took about 20 seconds to load 2000 tattoos, but someone in the other thread mentioned having to wait "a few minutes" so it seems to vary. Anyways, I'll create an update which raises the limit to 6300. Hopefully that will be enough for people : P There are some other changes I'd like to bundle with the update, so it will take a bit longer but I hope to have it out within the next 8 hours or so.
xarvenius Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 the fadetattoos mcm seams to work now, rape tattoos mcm is still lbroken even after hours of waiting, no buttons useable, only a single page, no pagelist and the curiosity that the missed pages and the pagelist for a short moment overridden the dcl mcm. after a reopening of mcm and the dcl menu the pages are gone.

The mod will say, grab a tattoo from (for example) the submissive slave tats, start it out at 19 out of 20 hours with 0 duration remaining and then that tattoo will just disappear shortly after activating it. I try just excluding the tattoo but it still treats it as a fade tattoo. IS there any way to tell it to not fade a specific tattoo in console command?

If I manually apply the "Tramp Stamp" tattoo from "Sexlabhormones" or it is auto applied from the mod itself, it will start out with; Age 20.68307 Duration: 0.0000 The duration is 0.000 whether I set the length of the age of tattoos in rape tattoos to 2 days or 200 days. So immediately after tattoo application I check the Fade Tats MCM, that's what I see. I'm pretty sure that the tattoos from your mod work properly with the correct duration assigned. This is happening with tattoos from the slavetats download page. The tattoo disappears within an game hour no matter how long I set the length for. I've tried excluding the tattoos that do this, I've tried clicking "permanent" in the MCM and nothing stops this from happening. I'm looking for a way to fix this. I tried uninstalling both mods with a clean save but it created issues (my character's height, skin color and features were all screwed up after a clean save). Is there any way to fix this issue?
Slorm Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Sorry to crosspost but I'm not sure if this a Fade Tattoo or Slavetats issue. One thing I have noticed using Slavetats, Rape Tattoos and Fade Tattoos is that the .skse file is a bit larger than expected (though nothing I'd lose sleep over). I did some testing by taking saves while tats were applied then after when they had faded, when I check in the .skse file I noticed that the tats are still listed in there. Should these not be cleared periodically? It's hardly a showstopper, but when I checked my usual .skse size for around 100 hours is about 160k whereas after 50 hours I was up at around 257k

Sorry for the delay.@Slorm If I remember correctly the data entry for an active tattoo doesn't get deleted after it expires, but it does get re-used if the same tattoo is applied again. So there should be an upper limit on how big the .skse file gets (unless I have a different memory leak in there).

As soon as I activated it and opened the MCM my .skse ballooned and looking at in a hex editor it's certainly adding a lot. I started a new game last month and my initial before-configuring-mods .skse was 153kB - the one in my last save, which was after I first opened the MCM, was 1,136kB (I have a lot of tattoos). I've had much larger .skse files of course but this was without a bunch of other mods piling into it. I'm not sure how it factors into the string limit but I started this game because my previous game had exceeded that and was no longer writing/saving .skse files alongside the regular files after I installed Rape Tattoos and went in and tried to add a bunch of categorizations. I removed several string-heavy mods that I wasn't really using from this game (including a lot of SLAL anims) and it didn't break through the first bit of play.

legraf Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 This (and rapetats of course) is a great idea, and I'm enjoying seeing my Dragonborn gaining some decorations. But, although "tattoos are permanent" is clicked off in Rapetatoos, no tattoos are showing as being "tracked" In Fadetattoos. So I'm only getting half the experience - the better half, I suppose! Do the two .esp's have to be loaded in a particular order? Currently Fadetattoos is directly below Rapetattoos in MO.
