Nevadathehighelf Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 How would I go about uninstalling Skyrim? That's TOTALLY uninstall, as in start game anew without mods in nexus mod manager or Enb's, and start fresh.
Ventus2111 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Step 1: Make backups of the things you want to keep, for example saves or character presets. You will delete EVERYTHING and you won't get it back, better check twice! Step 2: Go to ...\Steam\steamapps\common and delete the Skyrim folder. This is your entire game folder. Step 3: Go to \Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games and delete the Skyrim folder. This folder includes saves and some other things. Step 4: Delete additional folders you may have, including the folders from Nexus Mod Manager. I don't use it and can't tell you where it is located, so you should better open up NMM before uninstalling everything and check where its folders are. Step 5: Open up Steam, right-click on Skyrim and delete local data. After doing all 5 steps your Skyrim will be completely uninstalled.
Nevadathehighelf Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Have you ever had to do that to your skyrim game before? just out of curiosity. :/
myuhinny Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Yes You do it this way to make sure you get everything when you uninstall skyrim from steam it only removes the crap it installed so if there is other stuff in the game folder that isn't from steam it will get left behind and could become a protental <-- (spelled wrong but google is a idiot) problem on a new install as that stuff could end up showing up in your new games. NMM keeps records of the stuff you have installed. I usually just wipe out the whole skyrim folder without trying to save anything uninstall the mods from NMM delete it's cache files if there are any then uninstall it from steam.
Guest Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 if you want to nuke your mods installed you go to your C drive>Games and youll find the folder containing them
Wolborg Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Have you ever had to do that to your skyrim game before? just out of curiosity. :/ Oh yes. Because it became too much work to try and make things work with Nexus Mod Manager. ;-) Do yourself a favor and stop using NMM. Use Mod Organizer. Watch Gopher's tutorial on YouTube. The time spent on learning to use MO is the best investment you can make in your Skyrim.
9tailedfox Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Step 1:uninstall all mods Step 2 unininstall nexus mod manager Step 3 uninstal anything tied to skyrim Step 4:uninstall skyrim Step 5:roll into fetal position Step 6: cry for two hours(minimum) Step 7 redownload skyrim plus all dlcs(if any) Step 8 download mod organizer Step 9 download mods and install using MO(do not put mods in skyrim folder) Step 10 go from there
