hmm, seems like mod works fine as it is in 1.5.97 SE at the very least, was able to convert all ESPs to ESPFE aswell to save slots and was able to get keys for all 6 familiy starts without issues and stay at night in them.

 

Good mod, will combine it with Nexus mod that lets your defined parents send you letters, so it will make a good combo.

 

Tho did some fun edits to the ESPs allowing an extended Family

Took the Dragon Bridge family as Mother-Father (Which comes with a brother and sister), Edited Solitude one to make both High Elf cousins, Edited Carlotta one to make her Sister in Law and Mia my Niece, Adrianne/Birna to Aunts.

 

So now have access to 5 homes, and an extended family for RP xD

I have ideas about how to reorganize the mod to make it easier to develop on but being unable to edit family relationships by script is a major drag on anything.

I was hoping SKSE extensions with SE would allow to add or remove relationships eventually but it seem that part of the game is still reserved to ESP files only.

some question/suggestion but why not just create entirely new npc? and house for them? idk if it possible but make it so they only spawn when you chose option to spawn there. so when you either chose other family or not use any of it, the house would just be lock with no npc.

 

so we can have multiple option and not limit to few exist npc.

or just go wartime route and have npc with special package that would keep them inside house all the time out of mind out of sight.

All possible ideas but with the same limitations I have been running into.

 

Creating a new set of NPCs... which race? a Nord family won't do if you player character is Redguard, so right there, we are talking about creating one family for each race, not counting any custom race out there.

Support of any custom race could only work through a special mod for each one.

And even then, the relationship object in the game, which is necessary to keep track of parents vs siblings, is not accessible by script. This is why I had to do an esp file for each family.

 

Because of these issues, and looking at what else I have to work on for my other mods, I don't have a lot of incentive to put in a ton of work into this one yet.

 

Still, I am not abandoning it. I still hope I can come across some obscure way to make it work while I work on the other mods.

it seem main problem is a lot of work to make multiple race.

 

but i think it is still easier than edit existing one at least. i hope  someone make a breakthough in skyrim modding and allow your work to be easier

I don't mind being the child of an existing NPC. But the problem is how they don't really act as your relatives, like many dialogues still reflect the player as some adventurer they met. I think with all the voice mods we ended up having, this could be fixed, but unfortunately doesn't seem like many people are aware of this mod lately or there isn't much of an interest in creating a background/story mod with a family for the player.

Sorry for the scare.. it was a small update.

Someone pointed out that I had removed the optional esp files for each family from the main download and never put it back as an an addon.

But the mod is not dead and will be updated for good at some point :)

Not really, but the mod is so lightweight, it should work in SE/AE directly.

It's funny that Taari is also a possible wife for MC. Еspecially for an Altmer-sibling МС. Or that Lemkil's сhild has two loli sisters

He probably means the main character, in other words, the dragonborn/player character

That's right. MC means Main Character. Sorry for the confusion.
I think the obvious choice for an orc family would be one of the strongholds. "Dushnikh Yal Orc Starter Home", "Alternative Start - Yargol an orc smith - RP", "Realm of Lorkhan - Freeform Alternate Start" or "Adventurer's Start - An Alternate Perspective Addon" allow you to choose your starting point in the strongholds. In addition, in Mor Khazgur or Dushnikh Yal you can immediately take a companion, as when starting in Rorikstead. In any case, you don't even have to start the game next to your family.

P.S. No need to worry about Borgakh the Steel Heart being a potential wife. Half of Skyrim's orc chieftains have relationships with their sisters.

You overhauled and republished a lot of older mods, which have been too good to be forgotten. So i ask you, if you can make such an Overhaul with Maria Eden ? Version V 2.1 .

Hi. I wish I had the time to take on projects like that but unfortunately, my plate is already too full with my own mods.

I just have too much to do at the moment and too little spare time to accomplish it.
