GoonerGuy69 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 It's been three months since she last uploaded a file to LL though. I also find it odd that she just gave up on patreon so quickly, especially if she considers it her job. I mean she was pulling over 1,000$ a month from her patreons, but she's not even trying to restart her page? I don't know a lot about patreon personally, but certainly it can't take that long to just start from scratch right? I'd do it for 1,000$+ a month, that's for sure.

I have to agree, if she's not banned from patreon I'd just rinse, repeat and make sure it's private so people not of legal age can see it. It's just me but I would have done that the exact same day....
SimJMFan Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 It's definately disrespectful to release her work without her approval and/or blessing. Please explain how we acquire her "approval" since she no longer communicates with anyone. It's not that she didn't communicate. It's the fact that she benefited from having her Patreon page on LL in order to promote it while portraying it as a free mod, then after that she failed to communicate on the forum while continuing to keep her Patreon page on here. That is the sign of a mod that is behind a paywall, as she could have, at the very least, removed the link for her Patreon page if she no longer wanted anything to do with LL. I do support some artists on Patreon and agree with the concept of it but it all depends on their conduct. That is why I cannot bring myself to support KW, even though it was tempting; it has the same issues. If it was a free mod as she says it was then all of the content should be made free, unless she specifies that she changed her mind and that it is now a paid mod. Even then, websites like SimsCave and PMBD could put up her paid content because EA does not give consent for CC creators to charge for their content. Fully agree with, King Bowser. So, release the mods is disrespect full without the creator's consent. However release the mods only for patreons who pay for them does not respect the EA contract (the mods are to be in free access). Should we respect the EA contract no respect. It is an interesting Morality vs Legality opposition...
auema Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 And if she does decide to come back some day, don't you think that she is going to be pissed off that this was released without her consent? She always seemed pretty reasonable, so no, I don't think so. Even if she felt it was important for some reason that the final release of her work should be posted by her and no one else, it'd be ridiculously simple to fix the problem: the file someone else uploaded would be taken down, she'd upload it herself, there'd be a round of apologies, and that'd be the end of it. The vast majority of people who get into creating mods and animations seem to be all for having their work shared responsibly (i.e., properly attributed to them and not altered by others), so eventually -- in the absence of any communication stating any preference about the matter -- there's nothing disrespectful about doing what you can to preserve the availability of their work. I'd personally say that 6 months to a year past the last update would be a decent period to wait; that's long enough to firmly establish that a creator has moved on and is no longer interested in supporting it, but not so long that the file vanishes into obscurity.

Well, I proposed March because it's more "close" as a date: with this I mean that there might be people that would like it better having a more reasonable release date, and just that. Having to wait a whole year... I think that, eventually, people might lose interest in TS3, and it's better to try the product while it's still "fresh" (just my idea anyway). But if you guys think that half a year, or a whole year, would be better, that doesn't change things
springacres Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I still say no, not without her permission. Release it to people who can confirm they were Patreon supporters when her page went bust (via screenshots and such), but don't post publicly.
Guest Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I vote for: NO! ... until she publicly says either here or on Patreon that publishing her animations is permitted.
Dellalau Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Which is irritating me, even if she was banned by patreon, she could still make a statement here in LL - for example how it goes on. Is she going to create a new patreon site, or does she give up completely, would she like to share her work here in LL again, ....? She has an account here, no one stops her. I myself would have done it the same day as my patreon was removed. Some say here, patreon was a kind of job for her, whereby she earned money. Why then this silence? She certainly still needs money for her livelihood? If she has actually given up, why not does she make this clear? She does not have to publish her last update, but an information would be really great.

People keep talking about the fact that L666 worked really hard, is talented and all of that jazz, which is true, but the bottomline is that she did not respect EA's terms and conditions, or the LL rules that there was to be no charging for mods, or her fans on LL who chose not to pay her.
Guest Redabyss Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Friendly reminder: please keep the speculation on L666 herself as limited as possible
Jace5 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Off topic I want her to come to sims 4 lol. No offense to the other creators but she/Amra are too damn pro at this and I think sims 4 would give her a new creative drive. I can just see her animations in my head for sims 4, would be crazy. On topic try to get her permission if anything, she more than likely would've released but is just prolly tilted her shit got shut down. Idk why she couldn't start one back up as evidenced on here tons of ppl will gladly resupport her. I hope everything is cool with her

TS4 is so much faster than TS3, it's like The Flash vs a caterpillar in a race. So you're voting no?

I was just about to buckle and join her patreon for one she did with the splits Lady got some talent.
Guest Redabyss Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Seems that the majority is now "no" (10-14).

I understand both sides ....you can send them to me if you want to..lol if Lady isn't working on them and her paysite not up...then I hope she is ok ..she did say she would update here always ...just saying

If you're asking me to send you the latest update, I can't unless I have proof that you have paid in November! If you want to vote, please say just yes or no
Dalon44 Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 SORRY NO i Created for sims 2 for years ..gave all my work away free .. but to each there own ...No
Guest Redabyss Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 SORRY NO i Created for sims 2 for years ..gave all my work away free .. but to each there own ...No Problem is, no one can pay anymore for it so it's inaccessible, plus making it pay-only is illegal (EA clause). Fully respecting your opinion, just wanted to point out
Shoshana Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Throwing it at EA (clause) is a bit lame isn't it?? She didn't benefit from EA, but simply was being paid by her Patreons to provide her time to work on her animations (wich btw, could be for other games as well...learning the ropes sort a speak) and most were released as freeware, she did NOT sold her animations.....that's a big difference. Who knows what happened to her?? Maybe she's not even around here on this fricking planet??? What is your interest btw redavyss? You were her patreon, so you do happen to have the latest animations she'd send us before she got banned......... xx

Just read few pages ago. Plus, I already stated my interests. I created this thread with the purpose of discussing wheter or not releasing the latest package. Personally, for myself, I don't care, I'm not even using TS3 anymore, I'm thinking about the people who would like something new for TS3. Care to be a little more moderated?
Shoshana Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Fair enough, still...you better wait awhile till L666 is back .
Guest Redabyss Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Fair enough, still...you better wait awhile till L666 is back . And that's up to votes! I totally respect both opinions! What I was saying is that, while yes, the product shouldn't come "free" as it wasn't supposed to be, people can't pay for it anymore and I can't stress that enough... and then, there's the EA clause. Wheter or not it's lame, important or anything else, it's still a thing debated a lot in here. You seem, also, to be misunderstanding the fact that I'M NOT responsible for the hypothetical release of that final pack. It's not mine. I'm just the thread's creator. I'm being asked from ex-Patreons for the last package because I created the thread for helping L666, but I'm just an average joe here, just helping as much as I can, because I want to. Since L666 has yet to reply/come back, I thought it would be useful creating this thread. At the end of February, if the majority will be yes... one of us will release the package, but the responsability should be, of course, of whoever voted "yes" (the majority). We have also yet to decide if we hypothetically want to release the pack at March or even later! I perceived your replies as somewhat angry (and I apologize if I misunderstood): if you're seeing this thread as a threat to L666, that is not simply the objective or aim. In one week it will be a month since her disappear. But what do we do then? Leave her latest update in the oblivion, or not? That's what we're discussing. I hope this message will suffice also for the future, i don't think there's amorality in just discussing such matter. As for my opinion, I'll quote my old post: And as I said I don't personally care whatever result we will have, I do instead think about other people who might want the full and final product, people who wanted to pledge but couldn't, and now can't have the last version. I'm always excited for new stuff in this regard, so I can totally relate. The point of the discussion is debating if releasing that final package will do some harm or not. As my position for now, I still think that L666 already got supported November, so it's not like she is gonna lose anything, and I see no point not ever releasing a thing that may made other people happy. I still think that, after some months have passed, it's not totally unmoral release the final package. As you see, I don't lose nor gain anything, I just relate to people who now possibly won't have anything new, in terms of animations, in TS3, and this thread is a thing that should've been debated sooner or later, you can see a lot of controversy on the argument. This way, we can properly address the issue, so that it won't be bringed again in the future and it's resolved in an acceptable way if L666 won't ever come back. Anyway, the majority, as for now, is "no"
