Hawty Bawry Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I am "quite" late to the game, and only recently installed it. But I am aware of the vast moddability, however, with all the terminoligy, countless incompatibilities, exclusions and dependancies I was hoping someone could give me like a rough workflow to get the my perfectly modded Skyrim. I have played Fallout 4 with mods, so I'm farmiliar with Bodyslide and Outfit studio, but... HDT? Sexlab? 0Sex? SKSE? UPNP body? Am I right to think taht 0Sex and Sexlab are different approaches the the same thing? A framework to have sex in Skyrim? If so taht means there are mods necessariy to make full use of them, right? And with what body changing mods do they work or don't work? HDT is meant to apply physics to npc's or more like change the skeleton for meshes? What paths can I take? What installs with what? My end goal would be customizable bodyshapes with physics and one of the sex frameworks that allows for casual sex, no full fledged dating sims. As for the type, It can be as kinky as the modding community allows. Many thanks if someone could point me in a general direction. And I know, this seems lazy, but I'm not a veteran Skyrim modder who has grown alongside all the great mods for it. I'd have to read up on literally everything, which by now is quite a lot.
symbiant7 Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 sexlab is the framework on which all the sex mods work you will need that and its requirements then your sex mods and their requirements. you're gonna have to do some reading as far as compatibility and what you'd like to achieve.
Guest Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Some basic stuff: * install SKSE * install FNIS * use a mod manager (Mod Organizer or NMM) * use a body replacement (CBBE, UNP, or whatever you like most) * install Shlongs of Skyrim * get one or two sex mods, depending on your taste, and try

Nazzzgul666 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 This is very helpful i think, if you choose MO as Mod manager (tutorials + links). And to answer some of your questions: OSex and sexlab are both frameworks with the possibility to have sex, with different good/bad parts, but compatible to each other. You can install both and it will be fine. OSex has pretty good, seamless animations and you're in control. You can switch positions and everything back and forth and the actors will move accordingly. Imho great for consensual stuff. You can use OSex without anything else, and afaik the only mod which offers to use it is amurous adventures which is quite nice and long (a lot of romance quests with different vanilla NPCs. Some are quite short, others require doing vanilla quests and add a lot of stuff). Sexlab has some hotkeys to switch stages, but it's more for debug than actually playing them properly. If you don't press any buttons, it will just cycle through the stages of the animation. There are a LOT more animations and mods for it, and imho it's better for rape/defeat stuff, i don't like the thought that my characters control how they're raped. Sexlab needs other mods to trigger sex scenes, and pretty much all mods here use it, amurous adventures has 3 versions: 1 for sl, one for OSex, one for both. To test if sexlab works properly you can use the MCM, but i'd recommend Matchmaker. It gives you two spells (self, target) to trigger sex with any NPC. HDT is physics, yes. Not entirely sure about the technical stuff and how much it's really related to HDT, but beside bouncing and jiggling there is also breast/hands/vagina collision. There are some few All-in-one mods/collections for that, a UUNP body version is here on LL, another for both CBBE/UUNP is on nexus. *edit: MO is more complicated to begin with than NMM, but imho it's worth the effort. When you encounter problems later (and you will), it's much easier to fix them.
ChaosZen Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Be sure to get FNIS before trying anything relating to OSex or SexLab. FNIS is used to assign animations for the actions and build the animation behaviour files needed for many mods to work correctly. I have tried OSex, and it was not bad, but I did not find much use for it outside of manually triggered, consensual interactions. SexLab (with the many available add-ons, extensions and compatible mods seems to allow for more automated and forced action. I'd offer a list and description of some of my favorite related mods, but just dropped in tonight to rebuild from scratch to track down an issue with body resizing not working properly (I like to use "Soulgem Oven III", and "Estrus Chaurus" + "Estrus Spiders" but "pregnancy" is not showing on my PC's body shape as it is supposed to, probably from conflicting body meshes or skeleton). I hope you do not mind my use of "handy links" when referring to specific mods or utilities, I am simply trying to develop the habit to make things easier for others to find when I refer to them, and hoping others are encouraged to start developing similar habit to make things easier for those new to modding or playing with mods.
