jinny1984 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Hi Everyone, I was wondering if people here are aware of the 'Game start' mods, they change how you start the game, basically changing where you wake up after the intro video. They also allow you to set up what kind of character you are (rich/poor, strong/weak etc) and it can start you out in a powder ganger jail cell or in a hut in the middle of Legion country, fun for the female chars! I've listed two versions below, the bottom one works with tryout a little as you can start out with most of the factions. Roleplayers Alternative Start Fallout New Vegas: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45739 Game start mod example 2: (Already works a little with tryout!) http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39526#content I can't mod myself but I've posted a suggestion for a Sexout gamestart mod, you can find that thread here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=8866 Praise to the creators off all the sexout madness!
prideslayer Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 What do you mean "works a little with sexout." What about sexout doesn't work with any of these mods? I haven't tried them yet, but I'm curious. Sexout shouldn't care where you start the game.
KainsChylde Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I've used Roleplayers Start. If you used FWE in Fallout 3, same thing. Worked fine with sexout.
Evilrunner Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 What do you mean "works a little with sexout." What about sexout doesn't work with any of these mods? I haven't tried them yet' date=' but I'm curious. Sexout shouldn't care where you start the game. [/quote'] I'm guessing he means one that integrates some sexout content rather than issues running the two side by side.

[/quote'] Well what I mean is more in terms of role playing, when you start in NCRF or Cottonwood grove you immediatly get approached after you set up your character. So you kinda straight role into whatever facion you chose, you have a bit of fame and are right in the middle of their camp! Hope that clarifies it a bit; I figured this might be a nice addition, as walking towards a place you know they don't like girls very much (prison or a legion camp) does break immersion a bit.. I've got some ideas for this text wise, even as a straight conversion from these existing mods but I think it'd be quite simple to think of some fun predicaments we could inflict on our characters right?
prideslayer Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Ah I see. Well I think Loogie could certainly modify tryouts to take your faction standing into account. It would be simple enough to lower the tryout rate automatically if your standing is high enough, or raise the rate if it's low. A more clever solution would be to provide different dialog options, but that's a lot of work. That said I think the only ones it would work with in a lore sense are the powder gangers and khans. Legion -- yeah, these guys aren't going to care. Woman = meat. NCR -- Won't approach unless you're wearing the prostitute outfit anyway. Kings -- Aren't forceful, probably would approach you *more* if you're "cool." Fiends -- bwahah..
jinny1984 Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Ah I see. Glad to have cleared that up' date=' I don't wat to critisize your fantastic work at all off course, especially the tryout plugins which most often feel like they are just part of the game. These are some of the ideas I had on Tryout gamestarts: [i'] The 2nd mod from the two listed above would probably be easiest to mod, it offers these factions. (ideas below each faction) 1) New Republic of California (you need to earn some cash to pay off the surgeon - tryout NCR) 2) Caesar's Legion (You wake up with Marissa by your bed... - Legion trout) 3) Brotherhood of Steel 4) Great Khan (You wake up, Regis tells you how to join the gang) - Khans Trout) 5) Freeside (They saved your life using addictive drugs.. now you're a junkie who needs to do what it takes to survive.. - NG Drug Dealers) 6) Powder Ganger (You wake up in a PG cell, with the guard at your cell door that's normally in front of the prison entrance - Powder Ganger Tryout) 7) Fiend (You wake up next to Motor-runner - Fiends Tryout)[/i]
GSBmodders Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 NCR - you are a NCR soldier, lots of opportunity here, sexual favors for promotion, get captured by legion, ect Legion - we all know where this will go Great Khan - drug trafficking, free love ect the fnv hippieverse Fiend - your a fiend rape, pillage, murder, do drugs, paty and maybe be raped, pillaged, or murdered yourself
sen4mi Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 You could also do a vault 19 start.(And there was one mod which populated the surface above vault 19 with horrid insects, which would be lethal for a level 1 character to deal with... if vault 19 were extended to make it somehow possible to build yourself up enough to escape, that might be an interesting challenge.)Another "escape" start that might be worth building could be if you started in the boomers, living under the boomers are not allowed to leave policy, which you must somehow subvert to be allowed to escape. This might disable the mortar sequence for getting back in, if it was challenging enough to escape and if it made sense.(And a legion start might need to disable some dialog -- perhaps everything about the mark of caesar, and everything that says you are being treated special or are newly arrived.)But a really interesting variant, from my point of view, would be a Followers start where your starting quest wants you to interview all of the trigger npcs from tryouts, and also sets you up to be enslaved if slave camp is loaded. (And a vault 22 investigation combined with sexout plague or whatever it was called might be interesting? I have not tried any of that part recently.)
Kashked Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Now, I would love to try this, the Roleplayers alternative start in particular seems very well done, but I just need to know what to avoid to keep it immersive... I'm an immersion freak. I am guessing you have to avoid goodsprings and the Lonesome Road, as well as Willow, since these all reference you being a courier (I haven't played the Lonesome Road, but I am assuming). Anything else you need to avoid? I guess you can go to Primm as long as you don't mention that you are a courier to Nash? And what about the other stages in the main quest? I am thinking of Boulder City and Novac in particular. I am guessing that the rest of the main quest stages won't fire, i.e. you are never invited into the Lucky 38 or to the Legion/NCR?
GSBmodders Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 But a really interesting variant' date=' from my point of view, would be a Followers start where your starting quest wants you to interview all of the trigger npcs from tryouts, and also sets you up to be enslaved if slave camp is loaded. [/quote'] that would be pretty cool, starting off as a caravan guard or something of the likes would not be so bad either, as a caravan guard you could start off at the outpost cass is stuck at and have to clear the road as normal and do a few other things for ghost and jackson to leave
Rrazz Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 This intrigues me I've restarted the game like 4 times in the past week for various reasons. This gives me a good choice for the future. My only complaint is that the Legion options are rather, limited I guess. Two make you hated instantly (Not what I want as I plan on siding with the Legion this playthrough) or make you hostile with everyone the Legion is hostile with...not, bad but it will make things difficult at points early on. Just a personal nitpick I guess lol.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 New Republic of California There is no New Republic of California, you're thinking of New California Republic . But yeah, tying sexout into a alternate start mod could be quite fun indeed. Also, although it'd mean more work, prehaps add an option to pick sexout related personality traits of the characther. Is she shy and inexperinced by nature ? Is he open and enjoys rape ? Prehaps add some extra dialouges to represent types of characthers like that, prehaps add some scripted changes for behavior among various groups. The female example would have INCREASED chances of rape amongst certain groups, where among the same groups the male PC would be respected/liked easier. Actually if options to pick characther personality like that existed, then folks could add lotsa sexout NPCs to locations, with their interactions based upon the PCs personality (or the options you clicked on), leading to sexout NPCs that mostly just appear to be a normal NPC until they see something they like. Of course that'd require a lotta dialouge work, since to do it right most of it'd have to be cases of hitting on someone in a bar, flirting, etc.
Razvan3699 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Just discovered the first roleplay mod(just really started NV again)... Anyone know of what the requirements for the prostitute history are... checked all over and no one seems to know
